I recently moved to NYC and am looking for a doctor who prescribes xanax. I have terrible anxiety and have been prescribed until I switched doctors. I noticed a lot have practices have policies against prescribing it which is surprising. Despite my previous history the doctor I saw said his hospital does not allow it. Therefore will someone please give me the contact information of a doctor who will prescribe xanax in NYC. Thanks! ## It's actually due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, PCPs can no longer prescribe such medications. If you require one on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a specialist, now. The easiest thing to do will most likely be to set yourself up with a new PCP and have them refer you to someone. This medication carries the ...

I have a current prescription of Xanax 2mg. 4x a day that runs out tomorrow need to find a new Dr. as mine is out sick indefinitely. Can somebody help me? I'm scared!!! ## 8 mg a day is a dose that is very high. You should have begun tapering or looking for a replacement doctor sooner if that was even possible. If you feel the withdrawal symptoms, too many to mention, GET to an E.R. and seek help. In the mean time consider an Urgent Care place and bring your paperwork ## Thank you Eddy. Do you think Urgent Care will help me? I was told don't even bother to do that or go to the ER. ## Honestly no for this type of medicine, but there is nothing worse than running out on this drug ## Whoever told you that the E.R is wasting your time is doing you a disservice. ## Can someone please...

I have severe anxiety attacks and an insomniac. I literally pull an all nighter once a week. I am prescribed klonopin but i have too much anxiety for it to work fast enough. I need something stronger and faster. I am aware of all the effects as well as my parents. I just need a recommendation of a doctor who is at least not against prescribing it if they feel, which they will, I need script. My doctor's hospital has a policy against it. ## Actually, Klonopin and Xanax are considered to be equivalent in strength and efficacy, so it isn't likely that you will get much better results if you switch and in the regular release formulation, both take between 15 to 20 minutes to start working, there is no instant release to work any faster. Need a dr that understands anxiety. This is from after the birth of my son and 1 mg barely takes away my issue. I need a dr that is non judgmental and willing to help. I'm on Long Island... And just want to get through this. I am not addicted to these at all, but when my anxiety is bad. I can't function. Please help. ## All doctors are judgmental. You should be able to find a Doctor that can assist you in a big area like New York? ## Eddy, if it were only that easy! I'm bear NYC, but I really have to stay local. Plus you can be viewed as a dr shopper so easily... I'm just trying to find one non judgements and willing to treat me!!!! Most drs these days are treating the public service announcements and not the patient. ## I don't know what the State/Local laws are lik...

need Kolodopin, n have fedelis insurance in nyc..willing to travel to any borough...n pay a low fee.. ## Hi Elizabeth, Personally, I think if you suffer from anxiety/depression and need a Benzodiazepine class medication (like Klonopin (Clonazepam) or Xanax), your best bet it usually to see a psychiatrist, rather than a regular medical doctor. They are better trained in the types of medications that handle these problems and can also help you treat the underlying cause of your anxiety or depression, as opposed to covering up the feelings and emotions with medication; unless you decide that you're ok with only treating the symptoms for as long as they persist... I'm stating this based on personal experience with severe depression for over 2 years, and covering it up can help you g...
