I'm doing my drug study right now. And its really difficult to find its (godex) mechanism and on how it works in our liver. They said that it was usually prescribe to the patients who have hep B or C. Does it really helps our liver? How? And what are my nursing responsibilities and health teachings to the patients who are taking this drug? ^_^

Citicoline (zynapse) ## cool ## This one has been coming up a lot recently, unfortunately, in the US, Citicoline is an over the counter item, used in some energy drinks and supplements for energy. Thus, I don't have any other information on it, I'm sorry. fluimucil ## Fluimicil contains the active ingredient Acetylecystein. It is generally used to reduce the extent of liver injury after an overdose of Acetaminophen. Due to the high doses required, the patient should be watched for an overdosage of this medication, signs may include nausea and vomiting. What is expected of a nurse to do or know before giving a patient a multivitamin supplement ## Looking at it from their perspective, I can only imagine that they would first have to know whether or not your body was even deficient in certain nutrients to merit reason for giving patients a multivitamin supplement to begin with. Most multivitamins I know of generally do not pose any serious risks that you should be concerned about if taken appropriately. Most of the foods/drinks we consume on a daily basis are either fortified with vitamins & minerals or already naturally contain them. With that said, it doesn't seem like there would be any special nursing responsibilities outside of being sanitary, when it comes to giving a patient some vitamins.
