How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. This is a hormone, so it is very likely that is has thrown off your natural balance and it may take a few months for things to get back to normal. Have you consulted your OB Gyn? Please help. I have abnormal periods, like some months i have it twice. Is this normal? And secondly, i have had pains, but recently i even felt like i had to vomit and nothing came out. Is this normal as well? I have clots but also less blood, and i went for a papsmere. It came back negative but there were 2 findings - 1) moderate blood & 2) moderate inflammation. Is this normal too? Please help. I dont really understand this but it hurts as we speak. I normally go for 5 days for my periods and spend 1 day in pain, but this time it's been 2 full days. I need help.

Hi is it normal that after taking this pill for about a year and a half, I have no periods?, I get occasional very very light spotting? and I know for sure I am using the pill correctly (right time every day) does this normally happen with any other women? Thanks! ## Eek! You didn't post under any specific pill name, so I don't know which one you're asking about. LOL Can you please post back and clarify? I assume, however, that you're referring to an oral contraceptive and, in the case, yes, skipping your period while taking them can be a normal side effect and usually isn't anything to worry about, as long as you haven't missed taking any. I started taking Lo Loestrin Fe on July 2nd, 2012. I was previously on Beyaz for about a year until my yearly checkup with my gynecologist. She switched me to Lo Loestrin Fe because of all of the recent blood clot and legal scares with Beyaz. Anyway, on Beyaz, I was used to having a VERY regular period that started the morning of my last pill in the pack. I was expecting to get my period on the same day as usual with Lo Loestrin Fe, but I have never actually bled. All that I have been shedding is a thick, brown substance. This was normal in the beginning and end of my periods on Beyaz, but on Lo Loestrin Fe, I have never actually had a normal period. I don't know if this is because of the hormonal differences in the pills or if I am pregnant. It is currently 2 days after I should ha...

Hi. I just took the last brown pill in my second pack of Lo Loestrin Fe. I have not bled at all yet. On the first pack I had bad cramping on the last white pill and then spotted on the first brown. Such light spotting that I only needed a panty liner for 2 days. Is this normal? Should I be concerned about pregnancy? I've never missed a pill and started the first pack when I was supposed to start the new pack of my old birth control, Yasmin. I am switching back. This pill is making me insane with worry. ## yes, its very normal. light spotting on lo lo estrin or lo estrin is what a lot of people experience. ## Gia's answer is correct. Contraceptives, such as this, contain hormones to prevent ovulation, which prevents pregnancy and changing the amount of hormones in your body can c...

I have been taking the pill for 6 months and have noticed my period is better during certain months, but crazy the following month. I have also not had a normal color. Often been brown and clotty. Does this pill change the color and delay? I have been getting my period on days that are not the sugar pill. Also been receiving PMS symptoms for up to two week straight before bleeding. If my period is not syncing with the pill cycle, is it still working correctly? ## Hello, Keia! How are you? As to the color, brown blood is old blood, that blood that has been sitting in your uterus from your last period that wasn't expelled. It is normal and nothing to worry about. The clots are usually due to elevated estrogen levels, according to the NIH, since taking oral contraceptives changes your ...

If I get my period while still on the "active" pills do I continue to take them as normal? Is that an overdose of hormones? ## No, it is not an overdose, breakthrough bleeding is actually a normal side effect of hormonal contraceptives and can occur for the first few months you are taking them. And yes, you should continue taking them, just as normal. Is there anything else I can help with?

Been on nuristerate for 3 years, my periods were normal throughout that period till this day. My last shot was 11 months ago, how long will it take for me to be able to conceive? Hello all, I am new to Lo Loestrin Fe, just started my first pack 5 days ago when I started spotting for my period. Typically I spot for two days then have extremely heavy bleeding for 3 or 4 days then spot for another 2. I had normal spotting the first day, light spotting the next and haven't had anything else yet. I'm finding it hard to believe that this pill can stop my period after only 3 days.. Now 5. I did take an at home pregnancy test and it came back negative. My boyfriend and I have only had intercourse once since my last period and we were careful, had no problems with the condom... So thoughts? Anyone else have this drug magically stop their periods first week taking it? ## Some women don't have periods, at all, while taking this contraceptive. It is hormonal bas...

After stopping loestrin fe 1/20 how soon can I get my next period? Please help. We are ready for a baby. (: ## Hello, Lala! How are you? It's difficult to say, because it will usually take awhile for your body to balance your hormones back out on its own and for ovulation to occur. You should consult your doctor to be sure, but it's usually said to take about 3 months for things to get back to normal and for you to be able to get pregnant. Are there any other questions or concerns?

I have had a tubligation so.I don't believe I am pregnant. For 3 weeks I had a "brown" period but it was not enough to need anything more than.a pantie liner. 4 days ago I started what seemed to be my normal period but lighter than normal. I usually only have cramps for.the first 24 hours. This time I am having severe cramps and it hasn't gone away nor have I stopped bleeding ## Hello, Mary! How are you? The brown is usually old blood that hasn't been passed during prior cycles. With it going on for weeks and then the severe cramping, it sounds like you may have had a sudden hormonal shift. Have you consulted your doctor? You should do so to have things checked out.
