Taking generic brand of Norco 5-325. Had surgery on foot for bone spur. Works ok when awake. have a little pain at the surgery site. But after 60-90 minutes of sleep I wake up in lots of pain. Once I wake up and move around a little the pain goes away. Sleeping and awake I elevate my foot. So is the painkiller working at all? ## Hello, Liz! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about the problem you're having. Do you think it's possible that you're having nighttime foot cramps? Or possibly moving that foot and flexing it a lot, as you enter deep sleep? Since you're not having severe pain at other times, you may be experiencing breakthrough pain, at night, that goes beyond what the Norco can control. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it ...

I have been taking Norco 10 mg for about a year now. My job is very strenuous and Im on my feet 12 hours a day (im a food caterer at a hospital). The Norcos just dont seem to be working anymore. I go to a pain management dr here in omaha. Im prescribed 30 a month and have never went over that amount. I recently fell on the hip that I have arthritis in and the pain is still there after 3 weeks. Is it appropriare for me to ask the dr for something else for pain. Im 60 and i know its tougher the older a person gets but i have to work and my job has insurance so its hard for me to quit and find an easier job with insurance. I know age isnt suppose to hold you back in getting a job but believe me, it does. ## karen, you may need to have your hip xrayed ? You can ask your Pain dr about more m...

Hello everyone, I have severe back and neck issues along with bone chips in my foot from being shot 2 months ago by a friend and last week my son got my script and usually if I know the pills are the 176 ones, I'll refuse them. Well I have been taking them for a while and asked the Dr back in July 2nd that I'd like to try the 10mg methadone instead of the norco - so he did 3 a day and it was fine for about a week and a half but then my back and neck started up again. And after 3 weeks I was out of them. I called and told them that it didn't work so I got these last week on Monday and I took 2 when my boy got home and I had been in bed for a week in pain, so I thought great - and still 2 hours later no relief. So I took 2 more and then I noticed that they weren't the m367...

Hi, my name is Chris I am raking Norco 10/325mg, baclofen 20mg, and gabapentin 600mg all which I take 4× a day. Now my doctor put me on soma 3× a day in place of the baclofen. My question is can I take soma with the gabapentin600mg and Norco 10/325mg. I'm taking them due to a car accident which left me a quadriplegic C5 incomplete SCI. My muscle spasms are uncontrollable I've broken ribs and had other injuries due to them. ## I take Gabapentin and Soma as well. I don't take the 3rd med you mentioned. I have not found any adverse side effects with the combination of Gabapentin and Soma. I would definitely determine how the soma affects you before driving or working. Normally, if I have to drive somewhere, I take the Soma after I arrive or 10 minutes before I arrive....

Why does Norco/Hydrocodone, make me sick to my stomach & worsen my migraine, but Percocet/Oxycodone doesn't? ## Hello, Hriggs! How are you? Well, they are two different narcotics and there's always a chance of one working better for you, than another. That's why there are usually several medications available in any given treatment category. Someone else may have these problems with Percocet and have to take Norco, instead. The FDA classifies these medications as narcotic analgesics, so they carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause sid effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

I changed from watson to interpharm and it seems like its just mot working! Is it me or have other people been through the same thing? ## Hello, Scott! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. And yes, other people have had similar issues. There can be slight variations in the amount of the active ingredients when going from a name brand to a generic, or from one generic to another. The differences are very slight and don't affect most people, but they can cause problems for someone who has been taking the same one for a long time, or for someone that is sensitive to medications. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, d...

I have been on norco 7.5 for two years now. I have severe arthritis in both knees. I take one right before I go to work. I stock shelves at night, at a supermarket. It helps me get through my shift. My doctor retired; and now I have a new doctor. He has me on 50 mg on Tramadol. It's not the same. I'm in more pain now, then I was before. The drug isn't working the same. I have not abused hydrocodone. What do I need to do to convince my new doctor, that Norco is working, and I'm not abusing the pain medication? Any new ideas? please help. ## Hi John, I always say honesty is the best approach and speak from the heart, but whether or not the doctor accepts your message as truth is something that's out of everyone else's control and therefore I don't think it'...

I was prescribed Percocet in the hospital. In the hospital they were giving me 2 every 4 hours. I continued that at home. Today when I ran out I looked at the bottle and I was supposed to switch to one every 4 hours. They also prescribed Norco 5 for after I finished the Percocet, so since I didn't have any I started the Norco today. I am in pain and they aren't working. I didn't sleep at all last night. What do I do? ## You don't say what mg the Percocets were but Norco is a totally different medication, it is not as strong as the Percocets. In my experience Advil works better than Norcos. ## The percocets were 5 and the norcos are 5. I have had gastric bypass so I cannot take NSAIDS. I did call the dr today and they are calling in flexeril. ## Please post back and let u...

I live in Modesto California I would like to know what pharmacies will dispense the yellow norcos 10 325 can someone help me please the white ones are not working as well as the yellow ones and I know it's just a big ol lie where they say they're not making the yellow ones no more I know they are can someone help please ## No, it is not a lie, the manufacturer stopped making them due to the problems that some people were having with the dye, such as allergic reactions, being sensitive to it, and etc. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. What are the markings on the white ones you are taking? ## Thanks for your help but I finally found a place that h...

Why have they changed the yellow narco to white. The white don't work ,and it takes more than one to get any relief, I have a six inch rod and screws in my neck that's needs to be redone but willing to chance it. There are some people who really need what has been working. ## Are the markings on the tablets the same? If not, then the white one was most likely manufactured by a different company, and this isn't a color change. Norco contains Acetaminophen, and Hydrocodone, and is available as a generic, so it is manufactured by several different pharmaceutical companies. The FDA warns that Norco carries the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constiaption, and dry mouth. Ref: Norco Information

Actually I have been taking them for about 9 months after the Watson (Norco) sold the company and made changes to their medication, they claim all they did was remove the yellow dye! BS the medication sucks, it's useless! On to aurobindo, they have worked for the last months as a good replacement however my latest refill, they are horrible, ineffective with headaches, I am guessing greed stepped in and the company made some changes, because these too are now useless! They will learn an expensive lesson as others will turn away from them as I now will. For some reason the pharm industry has less concern for the patient "customer" than any other, they think they can do as they please. ## @webhead, I agree with what you said about the pharmaceutical industry expressing less con...

How are you? What symptoms are you experiencing that make you feel it isn't working? Are you just still in pain, or are you experiencing unusual symptoms? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation.

Just upped to 4 n now they're changing percocet. ## Hi Kelly, Sorry to hear about your troubles with the IP 204 generic APAP/Oxycodone by Amneal Pharma. The main problem I see with generics is that they never seem to be consistent in the way that brand name meds are. From what I understand, the quality cont...

I have a prescription for Norco 4x a day, 120 pills total. The dr has written it for 20 day supply. When would be the soonest I could submit my refill? She wrote the refill for December 15th, last month I filled it on the 20th. Would I have to wait until the 20th again or can I submit it to CVS on the 15th? ## Anna, If the doc dispensed #120 with a sig. of one qid that's a 30 day supply. You'd have to wait 30 days from the filled on date so the 20th would be your available date. ## Do u get the norco 853's and 120 a month? I was wondering if i could ask my dr. to up my script from 90 to 120 a month because they dont seem to be working that good. Is this possible? ## @Craig - Yes, it is definitely possible. However.... Doc gave me norco 5/325 pills for a toothache. What makes the norco pill more effective? ## That's why there's Acetaminophen in it, it can potentiate the effectiveness of the opiate. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have you tried taking it, yet? ## I have a very bad case of fibroids and will be getting a hysterectomy in a month. But until then my OB/GYN has prescribed Norco 5/325. I have breast cancer that spread to my bones. For awhile now I've been taking norco 10's. They aren't working as well as they used to...so my question is what would be the next step up for pain control? I have a dr appt in a few days and was wondering what he might put me on? ## Hello, Hootsie! How are you? I am very sorry about your medical condition and that you're in so much pain. It's hard to guess what your doctor might recommend, but there is a time released formulation of Hydrocodone that's available, without the Acetaminophen, in higher doses, so if it works well for you, that might be the way to go. It's called Zohydro. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, ...

I have been taking norco for about ten years now and I now have a tolerance to it. For the norco to work for me I have to take more pills than what my doctor can prescribe. So I have run out of my Norco and my doctor prescribed me Percocet 7.5/325, but since I have never taken it before he said to only take 4 in 24 hours and see if it will work. Well, it is not working at all !!! I am going through withdrawals . I have emailed my doctor and tried to tell him this but I haven't heard back from him. I want to take more of the Percocet but I don't want to overdose. What can I do? ## There is a chart available, the link is you can see that Oxycodone in actually stronger than Hydrocodone. Which is stronger? Norco 10mg or oxycodone 15mg? ## Oxycodone is the strongest of the two, you'd need 22.5mgs of the Hydrocodone to equal each 15mgs of Oxycodone. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## Hello, all. Just wanted to try and help anyone out there with the similar situation. Generic norco used to work, but over the last 5 yrs., total junk. Tried every brand, felt anxious, no pain relief. Went to my local er for dental pain. Scripted 30 white Narco. Is it usually 1.5 hrs to feel relief? Taking 2 pills every 6 he's ## Hello, Dan! How are you doing? Sorry about the toothache. No, they should start working within 15 to 20 minutes of taking them. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Learn more Norco details here. However, if the pain is due to an infection and they didn't put you on an antibiotic for it, then you usually won't get complete pain relief, until the infection is cleared up. Can I take 2 of norco 10/325 for my neck disc pain ( 2 levels buldging after 4 level disc surgery less that 1 yr ago ## It goes without saying that you should always check with your pain doctor before increasing your dose of hydrocodone (your Norco is 10 mg of hydro and 325 mg of Tylenol). Going straight from 10 to 20 of hydro likely will make you feel sick and dizzy. At most, split the 2nd pill in half, or thirds if possible. Tell your doc asap that the currently prescribed dose isn't working any more, but be careful about taking more and more and more. Don't find yourself 5 years from now wishing you had never started.
