I'm taking percocet 10/650mg. I have (DDD), (Athritis), and the list goes on. I have a friend on Norco. Can you tell me what the difference is between them and the highest mg the norco comes in? I've been taking Norco 10/3.25 for years for severe chronic pain--It's now no longer effective at all--I'm wondering about changing to Percocet 10/3.25 and whether this would be a stronger, more effective and longer lasting med to take--I've tried also Oxy.10 mg. hcl and they work so so and notice I need to take way more often than I ever did with Norco. I have been on Norco 10/325 for 7 years for chronic pain and disc problems. Needless to say they quit working. Dr just switched me to Percocet 10. To answer your question though, YES, the 10mgs of Oxycodone contained in Perocet 10/325 is reported to be more potent than 10mgs of Hydrocodone in Norco 10/325. As to how much stronger it is, answers do vary... but from what I've researched, it's analgesic effects appear to be about 1.5-3x stronger. What is the difference between Norco, Percocet and Lortab? I have a script for all three. I have cancer and wondered which one is the strongest. I don't need all three pain meds if one is better than the other. Thank you. ## Hey CLM, the Norco and Lortab both contain the active ingredient hydrocodeine so basically the same medicine just different brand name. Unless they are a different dose 5/325 vs 10/325 then they are the exact same medication. Percocet contains oxycodone as the active narcotic and is stronger than the other two you mentioned. One may work better than the other for you personally but Percocet is the stronger of them. I've been taking norco 10-325 for approximately 1 1/2 years due to a herniated disc. I had a laminecty and partial discecty this morning. I was prescribed Percocet 10-325 and Valium 5mg and was instructed to continue all previous medications. I was unsure about taking the norco and the Percocet both but the Percocet is not relieving the pain. I've been taking Norco 10/325 since it wasnt working doctor put me on Percocet 10/325 and they are making me so sleepy. Does any one know why? I'm taking Norco 10/325 & soma 350mg twice a day. They no longer work. I have cronic lymes disease 5 year's now. Pain & fatigue migraines & a whole bunch of symptoms. I need something stronger. I need to know what the difference is between percocet and oxycottin? ## percocate is cut with asprin. oxycottin is not cut with anything. ## I am on Percocet and Oxycontin.. The difference is, Percocet is short acting drug with tylenol, Oxycontin is much stronger and is a time releasing drug with semi-synthetic opiate derived from an element of morphine. ## Percocet is not cut with aspirin...it is cut with tylenol ## Oxicottin is an opiate oxicodonen and hydrocodon are synthetic base with either a spring or Tylenol like. 5/325 5 grams of the narcotic / 325 of the asprin. I've recently been diagnosed with osteoarthritis and a degenerative disc, and a pinched nerve. Was prescribed this generic percocet 5/325 coupled with Diazepam 5mg. I have been used to Norco 10/325 for a while. Also some much stronger stuff I would rather not disclose. Concerning my dependency and pain level (usually at least a 5, 8.5 or 9 when it's bad) is this enough or am I just gonna OD on APAP to get any effect? The only way to get a higher dosage than that is if your doctor specially orders it and it is put together for you by a compounding pharmacy. Hydrocodone is a potent narcotic and is rarely given in higher doses. This is a narcotic pain reliever, very strong and addictive. ## I wouldn't say they are "very strong", they are strong if you're not used to narcotic pain relievers, much stronger than a darvocet, tylenol 3, or even a plain vicodin 5/500, but weak compared to pain relievers such as percocet, roxycodone, morphine, dilaudid, demerol, oxycontin, fentanyl, and the many other stronger painkillers on the market. I have been on Norco 10-325 for pain management. Today I went to pick up script. My doctor did a urine test. She came out and told me that my urine showed traces of a stronger drug and asked me if I had taken percocet. I have not and told her that. She said that she was going to send it to a lab for more extensive testing and if it came back positive we would have to talk again. My question is how can this happen when I have taken nothing except my perscribed meds. My dr had tried me on 800mgs of neurontin earlier in the month which I was allergic to and had to stop after about a week and a half. Also just recently I have had a severe kidney infection and have been taking Cipro and peridium for about four days. Could any of those mess with the results? I am so confused and afraid my doc...
