I would like to know how to obtain a prescription. ## send info please ## Desoxyn was prescribed to me and my son for narcolepsy. It is amazing that such a safe & effective drug was taken off the market. We have not been awake since the discontinuince of desoxyn. We currently take adderrall & dexedrine, they don't come close. What a better world it would be if it were still available. ## If you have ADD , ADHD or Narcolepsy, Your Doctor can write you a script. Usually only if nothing else works! Provigil...ect...Aderrall, ritilan, Dexadrine.... Just makes my heart beat fast, gives me the jitters and makes me feel .....scared!???? DESOXYN does not do this. It is absorbed much better in the fatty tissue of the brain. The HORROR stories are from the crap sold on the steet. 15 t...

Having a hard time getting my insurance company to pay for my Provigil; United Healthcare, Medco. They say I can pay for it but that is full price ast several hundred dollars per month. Any suggestions? I had not success with Nuvigil. ## Hi David, Insurance companies can sure be a pain! Have you considered looking for various prescription coupons for this drug? It may be worth while to give it a try in the meantime. One webpage I came across has a coupon that you can print out and give to your pharmacy for a generous discount on any prescription that is over $4.00. There seems to be a number of sites that offer these types of coupons and many users on the forums here have declared their valid legitimacy. Here is one which this site offers: RX Discount Card Please post back if it does or...

I'm on medicare, and my last prescription of Provigil cost $816 for a 30 day supply. I am a recovering liver transplant patient and had suffered from daytime sleepiness from Obstructive sleep apnea and Primary Biliary Cirrhosis. Provigil is prescribed specifically FOR these conditions, but I encounter resistance each time I request a refill. Without this medication, I am literally unable to arise in the morning and participate in a normal day, such as operating a vehicle. In prescribing the medication, my sleep medicine doctor states specifically what conditions I have that require its use. I am currently seeking organizations to which I can apply for help with the cost, and have had no success. The only site I've found for assistance is restricted to patients with no insurance....

So, to be short and sweet, I was diagnosed with hypersomnia (excessive daytime sleepiness) and adult ADD. Provigil did not help with the hypersomnia, so new doc (referred to psychiatrist) started adderall prescription of 20 mg XR once a day. She also gave me a future prescription for 30 days later. It was just a few days later when I emailed her to say that this clearly wasn't licking both conditions. She required me to come in for a formal appointment to discuss it. She prescribed 20mgXR twice a day also including a future prescription for 30 days later. I communicated with doctor via email and told her once again that both conditions weren't responding as well as we are hoping. Here she again upped my dose to 30mg XR twice a day along with a future prescription for 30 days lat...

Hi There - I filled my Provigil prescription but received NAMFIL 200 instead. Searching around does not reveal much except that it is manufactured by a company called Naman Pharma Drugs. Does anyone have any experience with this medication? I fear it could be the wrong medicine. ## I have taken Modafanil for over 5 years and i have never heard of "Namfil 200". Even as a substitute for Provigil.

I was given a prescription for Nuvigil, then Provigil, and my Insurance denied both of them. My Doctor prescribed it for Treatment Resistant Depression, which is Depression that has failed to be controlled by many (for me about 20) combinations of anti-depressants and then anti-psychotics and anti-depressants. Also, treatment failed for me by having 4 Electro Shock Treatments and then a Vagus Nerve Stimulator implanted in my neck to send waves to my brain to help the depression. I was still not functional. The doctor said to look into ordering Modafinil overseas. I called the FDA and was told this was legal as long as my Doctor had it documented in my records. I found a place and when I started treatment on Modafinil, my depression was lifted to the point where I was able to do things f...

Nuvugil is a very expensive form of Provigil, which is a medicatiom used for those with narcolepsy, those who work rotating shifts and those who need help staying alert during the day. Nuvigil has to be approved by your medical insurance company and the original price is about $386.82 for 30 pills. With insurance, the prescription is $89. Nuvigil is expensive but it does keep me awake. ## Nuvigil contains the active ingredient Armondafanil, it is a stimulant medication used to treat narcolepsy. It has NOT, yet, been approved for the other uses you mentioned. The reason it is so expensive is because it is very new to the market. It was only approved by the FDA in 2007, so there are no generics available at this time. The price with medical insurance or without it, will vary according to ...

I have been on 150mg Nuvigil per day for several years. Previous to that, I was on Provigil , but the insurance co. made the dr. switch me over to Nuvigil because it was supposedly less expensive. I am chronically ill and disabled with many health issues and have been this way for 10 yrs. I am also on 12-14 other meds. daily, many which make me drowsy - thus the need for Nuvigil. Recently , one of my other prescriptions(that has drowsy side effects) was increased, I don't know if it's a result of that or it's because I have been on it for so long, but it's not working as well as it used to. It may be a combination of both. I plan on calling my dr. first thing tomorrow, because I cannot keep my eyes open starting around approx 8 hrs. after taking my dose. I cannot stand b...

I have degenerative arthritis throughout my body. Latest MRI, yesterday. I've had four spinal fusion surgeries starting at the bottom of my spine. I'm scheduled for neck injection next week. I'm 69 years old and my only income is Social Security. I stay so very tired/exhausted all the time with no idea what to do. My pain clinic doctor gave me a prescription for Nuvigi, but my insurance denied it, and my doc said they would also deny Provigil. I have taken a short course of each of these several years ago, and they helped. If anyone has any suggestions for anything that does not require a prescription, I would really appreciate hearing about it. No pity party here, just want to live the life I have left. Thank you. ## Hello, Mimi! How are you? I'm very sorry about the pr...
