This is my second month on this bc. I typically take my pill in the morning between 9-11. Today I didn't end up taking my pill until 2. Is it bad that I don't take it down to the exact same minute every day and should I be concerned that I took it so much later today? ## Hello, Emily! How are you? No, that's fine. You have a window of about 12 hours, before it's even really considered a late pill. The FDA lists the typical side of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability and weight changes. Is there anything else I can help with?

My period is very regular starts 28 days apart like clockwork. Have a big romantic trip and want it to not start on my trip. So Dr. gave me Lo Loestrin Fe 26 pill pack samples to try. My trip is Nov 11-18 with my period to start on the 15th. My next period is due to start Sept 20. How and when should I take the pills. There is no risk of pregnancy... tubes tied ## You should just be able to skip the last four pills and start a new pack. This should prevent you from having a period that month. At the end of the new pack you'll have you period like normal. I had to do this for my wedding. I just skipped a period so basically I went seven weeks between a period. ## Hi! Im running a marathon on nov 4 and just got loloestrin. I started last night and my last period was aug 30. So will th...

Wanted to say I just came out of precipitated withdrawal! What holy hell! I have been on methadone for 6 years taking 115 mlg daily & got myself down to 50 mlg for 2 weeks, waited more than 72 hours, then took 2mlg suboxone. I was fine. Not better, just not worse. Following my doc's orders, I took another 2mlg 90 mins later. Ok, then took another 2mlg after 90 min and oh my god. Almost instantly threw me into precipitated withdrawal! This was to say the least horrible ×1000. Don't want this to happen again but determined to switch to subs. When can I try again without going through hell?! Please help! ## Unfortunately there is really no specific time frame as everyone is different. The best way to tell when your body is ready is to make sure you are in full blown withdr...

Hi this is my first pack of sprintec I take my pills at 11:00 everyday and never missed one and I'm on my 3rd white pill but still haven't started my period I also had unprotected intercourse on the 7th day of starting this birth control .. I don't know if I should take a test or just wait it out ??? Help ? Please ? ## Hello, Buttercup09! How are you? Did you start the tablets the first day of your period or at another point in your cycle? If you started on the first day of your period, then you were immediately protected, but if you started them at any other point in your cycle it would take a full 7 days for them to become effective to prevent ovulation, so it wouldn't be safe to have unprotected intercourse until the 8th day, or later.

My husband is a 52yr old avid bodybuilder & health nut and has been for 30yrs. He's never missed work for so much as a cold. On 3/16/11 he fell ill w/the flu. Four days later he was in ER w/what they said was dbl lung pneumonia. Four days he was transported to our capital city hospital. There he was originally diagnosed w/ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome) but after a lung biopsy it was found he had BOOP (Bronchiolitis obliterans with organizing pneumonia). After six weeks on 4/29/11, of extensive physical therapy, being on a ventilator, fitted w/compression hose for blood clots in his lungs & legs & suffering from orthostatic hypotension (his BP dropped to 70/48 everytime he stood up & he passed out) he went home on blood thinners, medication to raise his bl...

OMEPRAZOLE 20 mg IS THIS MEDICINE STILL EFFECTIVE & SAFE TO TAKE NOW ? ## It doesn't get dangerous, once it's expired, but it has most likely started to lose some efficacy and won't work as well. The best thing to do would be to dispose of them and pick up some new capsules that would be fully effective. Is there anything else I can help with? ## If a medication expires April 2013, does it mean beginning of April or end of April? ## My Omeprazole was issued on 12/3/2013; it is now two years later. I read in one study, Omeprazole lost 10% effectiveness at 180 days (not exposed to light, kept at Rh 50% and ~70 degrees F...very similar conditions for my pills). What is the effectiveness or degradation at two years? Would the calculation be linear or a curve? Can you point m...

She had renewed my prescription of Hydrocodone 7.5/325 before seeing me... I was in horrible pain, told her I couldn't believe she'd switched medication strength prior to seeing me, so she prescribed original Hydrocodone 10/325 and Naproxen 500mg 2x daily... Approx. day 4, "Ah! Relief everywhere I swear! So... I put away the Hydro 10's (40 remained) and stepped down to the 7.5's." Since I have no plans tomorrow I can as long as I need. ## Hello, Beth! How are you? 3mgs is the maximum dose, taking more creates the risk of overdose, according to the FDA and even lower doses should be used if someone is elderly or has a debilitating medical condition. Its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, funny taste in the mouth and next day tiredness/grogginess. If it isn't helping you sleep, it may not be the right medication to help you and you may ne...

I am 22 years old and on my second pack of Loestrin (week 2). I've never missed a period on any birth control, including the IUD Mirena... I always have very regular 7 day heavy periods, so you would think I'd be happy about not having one now. NOT the case. I am now 11 days late on my period. (First day of last period was 11/25/13). So far I have taken 3 early detection pregnancy tests (First Response Gold). I took one the day after my missed period (evening), one 5 days later (morning urine) and one again today (11 days late, morning) -- ALL NEGATIVE. I never intended to get pregnant (obviously, as I'm only 1.5 months into my birth control), but I actually started to get my hopes up after being so late on my period and now I'm a little disappointed to be experiencing a...

Then my doctor added nifedipine 20mg which I am now taking for about seven years. About two years now I feel dizzy when I stand for some time and when I check my BP I am getting low reading example, 104/65, 95/60/, 112/75. My doctor did kidney's and diabetic's blood test which he said was ok. About one year ago I was diagnose with diabetics but it is under control. All HELP and encouragement is appreciated! Last year, in November, I abruptly stopped 60mg. of Cymbalta after taking it for 3 years. I had NO IDEA what would happen. I experienced a 20 day constant panic attack that I later learned was withdrawal.Needless to say, I was prescribed Klonopin as needed and went on Zoloft. I got through that and I think I only took a couple of .5 K. FAST FORWARD to this year...My PDOC had me on 100mg. zoloft and 36mg. Concerta, and 2mg. of Abilify. 11months later, I was so distant, I decided to come off Abilify. Stopped abruptly. Anxiety, sickness came on with a vengeance. My PDOC convinced me that he would not let me become addicted to the Klonopin and that I needed to take it regularly. Long story short, I took between .5 and 1mg for about 6 weeks. I then ...

Hi, I have been on minastrin fe for about 8 months. My period has always been normal. However, this time for the last 3 days of when I was supposed to be on my period I've just had brown discharge very very light. Several days (starting with the time change) I took my period at varying times between 10am and 11am. Should I be concerned? Is an hour time difference a big enough one to make the pill not effective? Is brown discharge normal? I took a pregnancy test on the second day of the brown discharge and it was negative. What do you think? ## Hello, Emily! How are you? Has there been any change? According to the AMA, brown discharge is usually just old blood, sometimes not all of it is expelled during your period, so it comes out later, before, during, or after your next period. If...

i was recently prescribed bactrim (sulfamethoxazole and trimethoprim) for an infected burn. on the second day, i woke up with a really sore throat. by night, i had a fever, and the next morning, i had a sinus infection--which i used to get chronically from about 11 years ago, up until 4 years ago, in which time ive only had one. a day later i had a productive cough, semi bad but nowhere near as bad as the bronchitus the sinus infections would, after months, eventually turn into. those infectionswere clearly bacterial as whenever I did end up taking antibiotics, they always ended within a few days. I tried to ride them through to defer antibiotic resistance and such, and i cant rememeber if i ever did, because they WOULDNT go away. regardless, i went back to the dr this time after gettin...

Hi, I had been diagnosed with Thyroid (Hypo) and my TSH was 100+ in the month of May'2013. At that time, my BP was slightly high (137/91) and weight 66 Kgs. I was prescribed to take Thyroxcin 100mcg. Later in the late July'2013, my TSH was 0.04 and BP was (147/73) and weight 62.9 Kgs. I was advised to continue Thyroxcin 100mcg for another 2 months but at home, my parents insisted me not to take such a high dose when TSH has fallen down to 0.04 and told me to take Thyroxin 50mcg which i am continuing since then.. On 4th Dec 2013, My TSH was 4.68, BP was (140/110) and weight 64Kgs. I changed my doctor and i was advised to take Thyronorm 50 mcg & Thyrowell and was advised to visit next month with FT3, FT4, TSH, TPO AB tests. I have been taking oxycodone the 15mg and 30mg for a while. Then the pharmacy I use and other surrounding pharmacies did not have the medication. So my dr then switched me to the ms contin 60mg er. I took my first dose at 11:30 that morning. After taking that dose I got a euphoria feeling along with sweating and my body started to feel heavy. I was in the bed for the rest of the day. I got a headache as well. So as u can c that medication was not for me. Although I did not feel any pain (besides headache) it caused more problems than it cured. I was also prescribed the 15mg ir morphine sulfate for breakthru pain but that pill wasn't even needed. The 60mg er of the ms contin did not wear off until 12 hrs later. So to me ms contin is a good pain relieving drug as long as u don't h...
