can these two drugs safely be taken at the same time when pain prohibits sleep? ## Hello, Scooter! How are you? It would be best not to mix them, unless your doctor has said it's okay for you to do so. There is a risk of liver damage or failure, as well as stomach damage and an increased risk of bleeding. Have you been instructed to take 2 of the Hydrocodone/APAP tablets, at once? This medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation.

I have been taking 5 hydrocodone 10 / 325 mg for about 8 years, my body has adjusted to this so it has not been working as well as it used to. My doctor has now prescribed me morphine ER 15 mg every 12 hours and hydrocodone 10 / 325 4 times a day. Will this be a better pain relief and do you know of any problems with taking both of these together at this dosage? My pharmacist said to make sure I take the hydrocodone at least two hours before or after I take a morphine, does anyone have any input on this thank you I appreciate any responses I can get ## If you are opiate tolerant and they have been prescribed by the same doctor, there shouldn't be any problem. Do I put patch on and continue to take my norco till the fentanyl patch gets in to my system at full strength? I take two nor ps 10-325 every 6 hrs and they wear off at 4-5 hrs so pain comes on strong. I've read that it takes 12 to 24 hours for fentanyl to reach its peak so till it kicks it will I be safe to take reg dose of norco? Do not want to go to sleep and not wake up! Scary ## It would be best to be cautious and check with your doctor, before taking the Norco with the patch, since there can be some risk of increased sedation or overdose. I too used to take the Watson Marked ones, but CVS switched to these and I find these VERY VERY effective. I think that the reason some people don't like them is there body is used to the other and a lot of it maybe "brain" issues. Your brain is used to taking "Watson's" and when you change your brain is saying Ol no something different it won't work, helpppp... But rest assured your body WILL get used to them and start to work, it just takes time. Thanks, Jeremy ## When you switch brand names or manufacturers the drug itself doesn't necessarily change, but rather the binders or fillers that they put with it. For this very reason, I believe the differences and side effects people feel have a lot to do with certain "inactive" ingredients that may o...

Is it ok to alternate between these 2 meds during the day... hydrocodone/acetaminophen 10/325 and acetaminophen/codeine #4? ## You can do so, if your doctor approves, but you will not get anywhere near the relief from Codeine that you will from the Hydrocodone, since it is a much milder narcotic. Walgreens filled for me this time and b4 giving it to me asked "your allergic to tramadol? But you've taken norco?" Being in a hurry I didn't think about it..but I've had to take 2 and I'm itching and breaking out soo I think I'll have to ask them about that ## They are different medications, however, when someone discovers they are allergic to one medication, there is always a risk that they may find more they are allergic to, as well. In such cases, it is best to stop taking it and consult your doctor immediately, according to NIH warnings, such reactions tend to get worse with repeated exposure. Has there been any change?

On 4/12/17, I received my monthly script of Oxycodone from Walgreens, from Mfg. Actavis as Oxycodone/Acetaminophen 10-325MG TB. The medication did not dull my pain as usual, but continued to use and began to feel very ill, vomiting and having diarrhea, ending up in the hospital for four days, during which I lost all my strength and needed Physical Therapy for three months and I am still having to use a walker. There was never a diagnosis of the cause of my hospitalization, but now I know that after I had not used the medication for a period of three months and now needed pain relief again, that after ll days of use, I was experiencing the same thing that had put me in the hospital in the first place, the Actavis Oxycodone! There is a problem with Actavis and they should be investigated....
