How can I tell and should I take two a day or 4? ## Hello Hannah, After doing some research I found a gov webpage that states the dosages should be only taken as prescribed by the doctor and that the dosages may vary from case to case so there is no suggested dosage. With this in mind I don't think it's a very wise decision to be making guesses or just trusting your safety to strangers on the internet. In this case I would suggest two things in the following order. First if you have the option to do so, I would recommend getting a hold of the doctor who prescribed the medication to you or ...

After taking this medication for three days, I did not experience any side effects except for intense headaches right after taking it. On the fourth day I woke up with extreme shortness of breath, feeling of heaviness in my chest, chills, and joint pain. I have never had this sort of reaction to an antibiotic before, or any sort of medicine for that matter, so I thought I might have the flu. I went to the doctor and tested negative for the flu and he said I may have been suffering from really bad allergies. I forgot to take both of the antibiotic pills that day and woke up the next morning feeling better. I then took two pills, one in the afternoon and one at night, and woke up the next day the same as the fourth day. Are these normal side effects for this antibiotic? Also, what about t...

My Neurologist prescribed Nitrofurantoin Mono-MCR 100mg for the rest of my life ## Nitrofurantoin is an antibiotic usually used in treating urinary tract infections and also against E. Coli. I'm not sure what relation an antibiotic would have to nerve problems, but there are other natural antibiotics in the form of fruits, vegetables, herbs, oils, etc; that in my opinion can be a more feasible long term approach to killing bacteria. Is there any specific reason why your Neurologist recommend an antibiotic for life? ## Hi. Can I use Nitrofuration Marco 100 mg if I'm breastfeeding a 10 day old baby? ## WHY? Can the prescription Nitrofurantoin be taken for the sympthoms of earache, sore throat, headache, and skin sore to the touch? I was also chilling twelve hours ago. ## Nitrofurantoin is used to treat urinary tract infections. Nitrofurantoin is in a class of medications called antibiotics. It works by killing bacteria that cause infection. Antibiotics will not work for colds, flu, or other viral infections. That said, I think it would be best to diagnose the underlying causes of your sore skin, headache, sore throat, and ear ache. In my honest opinion, a naturopathic doctor would best suit your needs for all the above symptoms and conditions. Additionally, I do see some antibiotics being prescribed for ear aches; however Nitrofurantoin is primarily used for UTI's, so you may also want...

I am going in for a uterus treatment and the doctor had me take a urine culture 7 days prior. Twice, the culture came back as positive and the doctor postponed the uterus treatment.
