can you take Nitrofur Macr 100 Mg & Z Pac together. I have two pills of the Nitrofur left for a bladder infection. I may e having a miscarriage due to a utility.....I have been. Can this medicine be used to gratis a tooth infection? ## Hi Heidi, I have my doubts, because Nitrofurantoin has poor tissue penetration and is not indicated to treat anything other than simple cystitis (urinary tract infections). I would however recommend using clove essential oil for tooth and mouth related infections. Not only does it numb the pain, but it also kills the infection. A cheap natural alternative to prescription drugs, that is more effective in my opinion. I didn't have my medication on me for a day and a half. I was supposed to be taking one pill, two times a day. If I restart taking my medicine is it still going to give me the same results, ridding me of my UTI? ## Hi, Aly! How are you? There's a good chance that you'll need a new prescription to make sure that you eradicate the bacteria that has caused the infection. The antibiotic needs to be maintained in your body at a fairly steady level for the required period of time to properly do its work, any break can usually allow the bacteria to reproliferate. I took this twice in a row at 2:00. Is that okay? Also, is it okay to take one tomorrow morning and then 1 at night? ## Hi Mary, I just took a look at the dosing guidelines for this medication, and it states that Nitrofurantoin monohydrate/macrocrystals capsulesÂshould be taken with food every 12 hours for seven days. Because of that strict 12 hour gap in between doses, I definitely wouldn't say it is ok to take them back to back like that. Schedule your doses so that you take 1 in the morning when you get up and one a couple hours before you go to bed (giving yourself enough time to leave you with 12 hours before the following morning dose). I will be going to many functions this week where there will be wine drinking. I have just started taking nitrofur-macr for the next 3 days. Could I drink a glass of light wine? ## It's not really advisable, since the alcohol can cause aggravation of the side effects, such as making the nausea, dizziness and diarrhea much worse than usual. I am on day 3 OF NITROFURAN MONOHYD MACRO 100MG 100 mg for urinary track infection every 12hrs, I have problems with my stomach and have been prescribed DICYCLOMINE 10MG/5ML. I started this medication last evening for a bladder infection. 'Haven't been on this before, and am experiencing headaches about an hour after taking it, and continues for a couple of hours or so. Plus I'm feeling sick to my stomach. I also noticed excessive thirst and urination. Today I drank 14 cups of water, and urinated fifteen times, and the night isn't even over. I have difficulty swallowing large pills or capsules. I removed the three small pills from the capsule, crushed them, and swallowed them with jelly. Can you use Nitrofur-Macr 100 MG to treat a gum infection? I know it is normally used for kidney/bladder infection but it does fight bacteria so am just wondering. Any advice would be appreciated. I am 13 weeks pregnant. This is my second time taking this antibiotic within a pmonth n a half. For a Uti. Both times were to take 2 aday for 7 days. The first time i took the med for the whole 7 days. Did not work 100% I waited it out for about 2 to 3 weeks went back for the second set. So i had 1 the first da.y. then I've had the 2 a day for 2 days. And im not feeling any improvements. Sarting to get nervous. Just want this to go away. ## Hello, Bubbles! How are you doing? Can you take nitrofur macro in addition to azithromycin I am on azithromycin for bronchitis. Can I eat dairy products while taking this medication for a UTI? ## Hi Mari, While there are certain antibiotics that cannot be taken with dairy; dairy products are not listed as a food/drug interaction with Macrobid (nitrofurantoin); so in this case there is no need to worry.
