I've been on nexium fro 2 years. I wanted to know if Sensa would interact with this presciption? ## Hi ShayShay, Seeing as Sensa isn't a medication, it shouldn't have any reactions with Nexium. I did some research and I can't find any information stating that it's unsafe to take them together. I hope this helps ## Thanks Jenna, I was just making sure! Sometimes you may never know!

I am on Cymgen and Nexium, and experience extreme tiredness and sleepiness ........... any comments? ## Are you aware of the side effects associated with each medication? Esomeprazole (Nexium) lists "excessive tiredness" as a serious side effect that should be addressed by your doctor as soon as possible. Cymgen (Generic Cymbalta) also listed "tired feeling" and "drowsiness" as common side effects. It's difficult to say which medication is doing it more than the other (if not equally), but none the less, I'd recommend contacting your doctor to get a better evaluation of what's going on and how you should effectively handle it. It may be that you need to change medications to something less harsh on your system. I hope this helps! ## Thank you David, i...

I am taking nexium daily. I have found it necessary due to my rheumatoid arthritis drugs causing terrible acid reflux. It works for its purpose well, however I have found it has put about 30 to 40 pounds of weight on me since the start of the daily routine. If anyone else has suffered this fate i would hope you would comment under this thread. I feel the weight gain is much more common than the "rare" connotation that is associated in side effect listings. ## Hello, Mick! How are you? Yes, I have to agree with you. Most medications in this class do cause weight gain more frequently than that which is listed in the FDA side effect reports. However, there is also a chance that your other medications could also be contributing. What else do you take?

I just took my first Nexium pill before bed last night. This morning I have horrible diarrhea. I know diarrhea is a side effect. Does anyone else have experience with this? How long did it last? ## Hello, Naomi! How are you? Most side effects are transient and usually go away with time, as your body gets used to the medication, but it may take 3 or 4 weeks. I generally found it only to last a week, or so, for me, when I was taking it. The FDA lists other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, stomach pain and flatulence. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am using Nexiam 40 g for 10 days now. No more heartburn but I still have a hollow feeling on my stomach and now also uncomfortable feeling over my chest. ## It is kind of hard for me to guess as exactly what you mean by these descriptions. Are you speaking of chest pain? Stomach pain or something else? Common side effects can include: nausea, gas, diarrhea and abdominal pain. You can read more here: Have you spoken to your doctor about your concerns? ## I made an appointment to see my doctor on Friday. It is not really chest pains that I'm having, more like an anxiety feeling and also heart palpitation. This started after the 3rd or 4th day of taking the tablets.

Filled my nexium 40 prescription from what I thought was a Canadian pharmacy. Package finally came in. Inside is medicine labeled "feksen" that says it is EQ to Esomeprazole which is Nexium. The pill is orange in color with no markings. I have tried to email the company from which i purchased this from but they do not return my emails. Please advise if this really is the eq. to nexium. ## Hi Ann, Do the tablets have an imprint of some kind on them? I haven't been able to find any information whatsoever on "feksen", let alone being able to relate it to Esomeprazole. If the company hasn't even been returning your emails, I would also be wondering if those are real pills at all. ## no markings at all. weird to me that the sleeve that they come in are labeled as such...

Is Pantoprazole sod dr 40 mg the same drug as Nexium 40 mg? My husband was given Nexium samples by the doctor but was prescribed the Pantoprazole. Thank you ## Hi Barb, From what I could gather, they appear to be completely different drugs that are used for similar purposes. My guess is that the doctor wanted him to sample the Nexium to see if he responded better to one or the other. Nexium contains the active ingredient Esomeprazole & Pantoprazole happens to be the active ingredient in and of itself; but both are classified as proton pump inhibitors. I hope this info helps to shed some light on the subject!

Is 40 mg of omeprazole SA equivalent to 20 mg of nexium? ## Hello, Norman! How are you? Actually no, these are equivalent medications, so 20mgs of one is the same as 20mgs of the other. Has your doctor told you to switch to 40mgs of the Omeprazole?

I have chronic acid reflux, GERD, etc. I currently have esophagus erosion and my doctor prescribed Nexium 40 mg for 2 weeks. I have 20 mg tablets. My question is should I take the 40 mg (2 tablets) at one time or one in the morning and one in the evening? which way is most effective? ## Generally, unless instructed otherwise, one should be taken in the morning, just before your meal, and one in the evening just before a meal. The NIH lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pain, and flatulence. However, it never hurts to double check with your doctor to be sure. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

I wouldn't even consider getting off of Nexium. I hadn't heard the stomach thing. Are you sure that's true? Gerd can cause esophageal cancer so don't know which is worse. I am a 51 year old woman and have been suffering from reflux and have been taking nexium 40 for many years. My GP recently asked me to take calcium to improve bone health. The Shelcal is a calcium supplement, so it may cause some constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Nothing more. Thanks for your response. ## I was diagnosed 6 years ago with two stomach ulcers which were the non bacterial kind. My doc put me on Nexium and I became "addicted".
