Possible release in 2019? chicagotribune.com/bluesky/originals/chi-naurex-series-c-funding-bsi-20141202-story.html ## @citygirl, Thanks for sharing this article on the advancement of GLYX-13. I think as long as Evanston can continue to utilize this molecule while minimizing the types of side effects that plague most prescription drugs, they'd find much success expanding on it's application for depression. The research backing up their experiments gives hope to those with treatment resistant depression and in my opinion may be a viable alternative for patients seeking a safer approach to managing these symptoms in the long run. I'll be looking forward to more updates as things progress! ## I meant to share this blurb from Chicago Magazine, as well. I have completed 20 treatme...

I suffer from fibromyalgia (for years) amungst other muscle and joint diseases, and have always taken Lyrica, which has greatly helped. Last week I saw a specialist and he decided to keep me on the Lyrica but added Savella. He said it was new and approved for fibro. What he did NOT tell me was that it is an anti depressant. I cant take anti depressants because every single one of them causes ab adverse reaction in me. After 3 days of being on Savella, I began to feel like I was getting the flu. When I woke up on day 4 I thought I had the flu for sure, but later that day, after taking my morning dose of the starter pack, I noticed blood in my underwear, which was weird because I no longer have a uterus to bleed from. (partial hystorectomy, still have my ovarys but thats it) The blood was...

If you or a loved one has ever taken the drug Pradaxa, please pay close attention to what I have to say because this may be the most important message you ever read. Recently the blood-thinning drug PRADAXA has been linked to life threatening and sometimes fatal internal bleeding and heart attacks. A new study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine has found that Pradaxa was “significantly associated with a higher risk†of heart attacks and acute coronary syndrome compared to similar blood thinning drugs. Over 500 cases of hemorrhaging have been reported to the FDA in the first quarter of 2011 alone. Since this drug was prescribed primarily to the elderly, the number of deaths and serious side effects are much more common among those 65 years or old...

Has everyone given up on contacting Caraco Labs, the manufacturer of Synalgos-DC? We have called several times but most recently, all we can get is in answering machine. Prior to the answering machine, a woman took the calls and each time we spoke, she gave a different date as to when Caraco would be marketing this wonderful pain medication. Our pharmacist tells us that every night when he sends in his orders, Synalgos-DC is always on the list. I think he has given up, too, for he hasn't tried to call in a couple of weeks. When I checked FDA.gov, the medication is still listed. Does anyone have any recent news about what's going on with this medication? ## Our local Walgreen's says it should be off of backorder about 2/1/10. We'll see. ## Well,, my pharmacist says the co...

I just saw this on the news. They were talking about the drug Fentanyl and that it's deadly just to touch it. It had A335 on it. ## It is not deadly just to touch it, however, Fentanyl is a very potent narcotic that is used to treat severe pain, so one should not take it, unless it has been prescribed by their doctor. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, dry mouth, and drowsiness. Also, it does need to be kept out of the reach of children and pets, it should not be used by those that are not opiate tolerant. There is also no tablet with this marking on it that contains Fentanyl, so I am not sure what they were using for the news story. Sometimes it is just a stock image. Can you s...

Amphastar, the maker of the discontinued Primatene Mist, says on their website that a reformulated Primatene Mist is coming on the market soon! If true this is incredible news. I have a zero co-pay for the albuterol prescription inhaler but would gladly pay out of pocket for Primatene Mist because it works so much better. Go to primatene.com for more info... ## Hello Paul, Thank you for updating everyone on this! I'm sure someone is going to find this useful. Can you please tell me where you heard about this news?

Hello, I am new to Newport News, Hampton, VA. I have been under the care of US Military for almost 15 years. When my husband retired from the Army and move back to Virginia. I was cut off of my pain medication. I was told that they will not be taking care of my long term chronic pain, that it was for active duty only. I was in shock. I was seriously injured after 18 years of owning and installing wallpaper working with liquid herbicide, pesticide, plasticizers, vinyl acetate. It destroyed my hands and feet, it comes out in the form of hundreds of blisters, peripheral neuropathy: toxic neuropathy, toxic encephalopathy, severe dermatitis of both hands and feet, bladder damage, chronic fatigue syndrome, reactive airway disease. Anyone heard if the generic 80ER MG. Is coming back in January of 2014?I can't find any news on it.Please reply. I'm broke! ## Hellom Mzmarty! How are you? And no, the government is not allowing any generics to be released any time soon. They were removed from the market in order to make it easier to keep track of the supply, since this medication is so frequently abused and, at this time, there are no plans to change this. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for the info. If you hear of any changes please let me know. I am sooooo broke. Paying over $5000.00 a year on meds is crazy. I hate this, I have dipped in my retirement money too many times. I don't know what I am going to do. Thanks again Mamarty. p.s. I wish you the best. ## I will have to pay $2100 ...

Great news! I have FINALLY found the substitute for Drixoral Cold & Allergy and wish someone had told me before I had to suffer with allergy symptoms for so long. It's a combination of one Mucinex DM tablet and one Aleve-D Sinus & Cold tablet; take one of each at the same time and within an hour you'll feel like a brand new person! Mucinex DM is an OTC expectorant and cough supressant and Aleve-D (an extended release medicine) can be found behind the counter (you have to ask for it and show ID), but I found both at Walmart. I know the name brands cost more, but do not bother buying substitutions because they simply will not work; since Drixoral has not been available, I already have tried soooooo many that didn't help at all. Good Luck and I hope this works as well f...

BAD NEWS I am afraid. Watson 933 Pill Image This one is Acetaminophen 325mgs and Oxycodone 7.5mgs, a narcotic pain killer, very dangerous for someone to be playing with, especially if they are not prescribed for them and they have not previously taken heavy narcotics. This is a generic for Roxicet or Percocet. Watson 853 Pill Image This one is another bad news one, Acetaminophen 325mgs and Hydrocodone 10mgs, a generic for the narcotic pain reliever Vicodin. Cor 103 Pill Image Annother bad one, though I am sure you are not surprised by now. This is Carisoprodol 350mgs, a generic for the muscle relaxant Soma. These are all dangerous drugs to be messing around with and using if they are not prescribed for you. I am assuming that you know these were not prescribed for him, or you would n...

Great news!!!!.....Ihave found something that works just as well!!!......I found it at Walgreens and it' s cheaper......it is a Walgreens brand called ANEFRIN Nasal Spray extra moisturizing 12 hour pump mist!!......since Nostrillahas been pulled I have tried about 10 different brands and THIS ONE WORKS!!!......and is cheaper!!!!......Good Luck!! ## I have had great results from using Afrin Nasal Spray with a stuffy nose from being sick. Clears it up almost instantly! The active ingredient in Anefrin and Afrin is Oxymetazoline hydrochloride 0.05%, so I'm sure they are just different brands; but it works wonders. Ihave a newscript for levothroxine 50 MCG - things usually say MG ## Hi Linn, I definitely hear you on this one. Prescription drugs can be more confusing than algebra at times. Lol The difference of mcg vs mg is the measurement of each. MCG is the abbreviation of micrograms. MG is the abbreviation of milligram. You would need 1000 micrograms to make up 1 milligram. For your own reference: 50 mcg = 0.050 mg Learn More: Levothyroxine Details I hope this helps! :) ## Thank you. That clears up a lot. You are right, it is as bad as algebra which I also did not excel in. ## What is the difference between b12 5000mcg and b12 1000 mcg. I have been taking b12 1000mcg. And the bottle is empty so is it okay if I take b12 5000mcg ## Can you take too much B-12 ? Iam taking 1000 meg per day and get b...

So I heard on the news yesterday that the FDA WANTS to stop production of Endo's Opana. Now my question is are they also gonna make IMPAX/Global to stop production on their generic oxymorphone too? Or is this aimed directly at Endo? I have a script right now that I can't fill for another 2 and a half weeks. What's gonna happen when I bring it in to get filled? It's written as oxymorphone ER NOT OPANA is that gonna matter or am I screwed? Plus on a side note if I would have to get it changed (my script). Would it be too much to ask my Doc to write for 100mg MS Contin or is that too big of a jump from the oxymorphone 30mg ER that I've been getting for a year now? I only ask that because every other milligram of MS CONTIN does not work for me. Only the 100's do anyt...

I live in Newport News Va. I have been taking Dexedrine for 20 years for narcolepsy. I took my prescription to 7 pharmacies today. No pharmacy had any. Can anyone help? ## Hi vickie, Sorry to hear about your challenges with getting this prescription filled. From an outside perspective, I think your best bet would be to contact the manufacturer in order to see which pharmacies carry their dexedrine. I get the feeling that they would know who the biggest buyers of their products are and when they intend to ship out more of a particular medication to a said pharmacy. Hopefully that information isn't considered confidential though. Other than this approach, the only recourse seems like it would be a lot calling or driving around as you've probably already been doing too much of as i...

These tablets are bad news. I nearly lost the plot. They are research chemicals flooded into the west of scotland. They are horrible. A friend of mine who will only take valium to get off the drink also went loopy. He told me he was bouncing of the walls but in a bad way and felt like hell. He told me ez 1.0 or 10 should be avoided. I would bin them. Horrible. No benzo in them. Something horrible. Stay clear, even if in withdrawals. They can kill you. Honest experience folks.
