I have a very small tattoo that is infected ...I was wondering if ampicillin can help it ## Hi Black pearl, u can't just use any type of antibiotic 4 any infection. It takes certain antibiotics 2 take care of different infections. Besides, u need 2 start a new round of antibiotics 4 a certain amount of days. Only a doctor would know what kind u need and. 4 how long. I used neosporin when I got my tatoo . It's an OTC first aid antibiotic cream. U can get it at any pharmacy or Walmart. Hope it gets better. Let me know how u make out. ## I really think Cats68 is on the right track here, usually a topical ointment is best, because a tattoo doesn't go deep in the body and usually doesn't require a systemic antibiotic. Are you sure it's infected and not just irritated and ...

Got a new tattoo and was wondering if I can use triamcinolone cream to help it heal ## Hello, Nancy! How are you? Since this cream contains a corticosteroid, I'd advise staying away from it. Generally, for a new tattoo, you are advised to just use an antibiotic ointment. The FDA lists the typical side effects of them as possibly including skin redness, irritation and itching. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for the info on using Triamcinolone Cream on my new tattoo. ## my tattoo is almost 2 months old . I have bumps in it that itch ! Can I use triamcinolone cream on it ? ## You should be able to since it is healed. I don't see why not.

I've used just about every area on both my arm for patch placement except over a tattoo on my right arm. The tattoo is over 30 years old but it was done with a lot ink saturation. Can the patch be applied directly over this? I've never put one there because I thought it might inhibit the medicine from penetrating. Any help is greatly appreciated. This is my second post. ## Yes, you can place it over your tatts. My arms are sleeves and I am on 100 every 48 hours for chronic pancreatitis. ## has anyone tryed the new sandoz 75mcg transderm patch. just got them. And have been haveing bad stomach problems?? ## Yes you can put a patch over a tattoo I had one on my lower abbs and had no problem, but should alternate where you put it every time, arm upper backside, but not on the waist. ##...

I got a new tattoo 3 days ago on my chest and I started getting very itchy right after he applied A&D ointment. Day 2 I woke up with a small rash in and around the tattoo, I took a Benadryl and went to bed. Now today is day 3 and the rash was not there when I woke up but as time is going by the rash is back worse then and is starting to itch. I took 2 Benadryl a few hours ago but haven't noticed any change. I have triamcinolone ointment or cream I can use. Will this help? I'm kinda thinking I may an allergy to latex being I had a heart monitor a few months ago and the round sticky pads that were placed on my chest had kind of the same effect just not as bad as this one. Should I be concerned enough to go to the doctors or treat with the triamcinolone I have at home and just ...

Hi I'm on amox clav and wanted to get a tattoo can I get one while I'm taking this med? ## Hi Emma, From what I've read on other people's tattoo experience, it is best to not get tattooed while taking oral antibiotics, due to the antibiotics working overtime trying to expel any foreign bodies that are introduced. Not only that, but according to other reports, it may also cause your new tattoo to look much older and faded as well. If you have tattoos that are already healed, you shouldn't have anything to worry about if you need an antibiotic prescription. But, if you are planning on being tattooed and are on antibiotics, or have recently completed a regimen, you may want to hold off on getting your tattoo for a week or two after stopping treatment. Many antibiotics c...

Will this product stop new tattoos from pealing? Will it make the ink run? Is it okay for new tattoos? ## Hello, Bek! How are you? No, it will not stop the peeling. That is a natural process, because skin cells are killed and damaged, while the tattoo is done, so nothing is going to stop a layer or two of skin from peeling off. No, topical ointments will not make the ink run, it is actually down in the tissue and not on the surface where that could happen. And no, you aren't supposed to use an antibiotic ointment on your tattoo. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I know in the comments above it says not to use pomada penicilina on a new tattoo. Can u please explain why w/ more detail. Since it is an antibiotic wouldn't it be better to use it once, not several times, just...

I have a 6 month old tattoo and was prescribed this for my psoriasis. Will this affect the tattoos longevity? ## Hi Dez, I noticed there was another discussion thread here asking a similar question and just wanted to share the link with you: Ref - Can I use triamcinolone cream on my new tattoo I've also read reports from others with tattoos who have used steroid creams and didn't experience any fading. However my personal view is that a fading tattoo would probably come secondary to my health; especially since it can be retouched. Have you considered researching any natural alternatives for psoriasis treatment? My brother used to have psoriasis and had success with light therapy. Apple cider vinegar has also been touted as a treatment option. Hope this helps!

I have a tattoo (red ink) that is infected. I have these left over from misdiagnosis in Sept. Can I take these to help infection go away I am washing with Ivory soap and bactrishun with zinc I am on no other meds and very healthy ## Sulfamethoxazole with Trimethoprim is an antibiotic that can treat various types of infections, but if you only have 'left overs' then you likely don't have enough to properly treat and fully eradicate the infection and not taking enough of them creates the risk of your developing antibiotic resistant bacteria. Learn more Bactrim details here. The best thing you can do is see a doctor for a new prescription. How did you end up with an infected tattoo?
