I have Huntingtons accompanied by neuropathy which is causing excruciating, widespread pain. My pain manager is telling me that in Tennessee they are being required to reduce patient's dosage. As my disease progresses the pain increases. As my disease symptoms increase the pain med dosage is decreasing and life continues to be quite the challenge. Does anyone know a good doctor or pain manager in my area? ## Hello, Eric! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. However, that is true, they are required to reduce dosages of many patients, if they are currently taking more than a set amount each month. Thus, it's going to be the same, regardless of what doctor you go to and, due to other regulations that were also put in place, if you require controlled ...

Taking for neuropathy, started with 25mg, now up to 100mg per day. Last 30 days I have had significant improvements in the numbness and burning in my feet. Now it only feels like a sock is balled up inside my shoe. ## Very glad that it's working so well for you! Imipramine is an antidepressant, but the medical uses being found for these in recent years is quite amazing. Does your doctor expect more improvement?

I'm diabetic. Neuropathy is a big problem with my feet specially at night. I was taking lyrica, I call it a miracle pill for me. The only huge problem with Lyrica was gained so much weight but only in my stomach. I was so happy with Lyrica that never payed attention. Till one day my nephew asked me if I was pregnant. Stopped the meds and tried everything else but nothing works. ## I've been taking Lyrica or (Gabapentin) 300mg 3-4 daily for 5 yrs now and I do notice I do eat more, especially if suboxone is added to the mix. I occasionally take suboxone, maybe once a month for 5-7days to break up the pain meds I take, or if I simply run out. Anyways, yes, it all goes to my stomach. Also, maybe more people will post saying the same thing as I'm sure it's a side effect, but ...

Predizone for peripheral neuropathy? I have been diagnosed and have only been B-12 for low iron. A friend had this and said Predizone helped to cure her. What experience have you had with this condition and with Predizone? ## Prednisone is a steroid class medication, it can help with allergic reactions, inflammation, and some immune disorders, however, it should not be taken without a doctor's approval. The FDA warns that it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, weight changes, mood swings, insomnia, and fluid retention. It may not 'cure' any given condition. Are you on any other medications?

I have Diabetes Type 2 (25 years). Three years ago, neuropathy started and now I cannot stand the pain. I started taking Lyrica one year ago, insulin (26 units 2 years ago, Metformen 25 years ago. The pain continues at a greater pace. I have had accupuncture for 3 months. I have used Apple Cider Vinegar with Mother for 6 months. It worked for a while and then less and less. Is there any thing else that I can try? ## Hello, Pete! How are you? What is your current dose of Lyrica? Your doctor may be able to raise it for you. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache and weight gain. You may also want to ask them about other pain medications, even non-narcotic ones may help give you more relief. ## Since 2/19/2015 my doctor has raise...

can I use mentanx to treat my non-diabetic neuropathy? ## Metanx is just a proprietary formulation of several B vitamins, so there is really nothing that says it can only be used by people who are diabetic. Has your doctor recommended you take it? ## I have not talked it over with the Dr. but will before starting any new meds. Thanks ## I am 81 years old. Non-diabetic. My sciatic nerve pinches and that causes pain in my hips and downward. It also increases if I'm standing or walking. I want to know which medication is best suited for me (becosules or cobadex or neurobion)? Also, please advise a daily dose and duration of treatment.

I have horrible neuropathy in all extremities. One is phantom nerve pain, the most unbearable, as the pain is in my toes that are gone. I tried a piece of a suboxone strip about 3-4 yrs ago. It works! I tried so many other things and was going to try to get my nerves burnt, but the suboxone still works. I have been totally honest w/ all my docs in asking to be put on suboxone. How do i get my doc to prescribe this med for my pain management? Everyone is different and this works for me. Help. ## I had symptoms of fibromyalgia in my upper extremities for over 2yrs. Hi. I have been suffering from chronic pain for over 4 years. It all started with right knee pain and weakness. I was diagnosed with a bakers cyst and went to PT. About a year later I had more pain on the right side running from my back down to the right foot. My back pinches, ankle constantly burns, my knee is still weak with shooting pains with overuse, my foot now has begun to swell on the bottom and hurts to walk, my hip and butt muscle are always tender to the touch, and overall my right leg hurts to walk and move and burns when I sit to relax. I was told I have some start of spinal stenosis, but not enough yet to cause my symptoms. I also tested with some nerve damage from my knee to my ankle. What could be causing this and what can I do? Hello, I have chronic pain in my feet, legs and hands from neuropathy (nerve pain). I have taken all the normally prescribed Rx for this pain. I started going to a Pain Management Dr. trying to find relief. Has any one used Opana Er for this type of pain and got good results? I am at my wits end and need some relief just so I can do normal things around the the house. ## Opana is a very potent narcotic analgesic, so it has successfully helped many people with various types of pain. As listed by the FDA, it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. However, only your doctor can help you decide what would be best for you to try next. Are you seeing a pain management specialist? ## I have terrible ...

My gastrologist recently informed me that Flagyl causes neropathy, is this correct? How long would I have to take Flagyl before this would happen. thanks, ## Well, it is not listed in the regular public monograph for this, but that is not surprising, they generally only list the first few most common side effects and I am not a doctor, not medical professional, so I cannot expound on whether it does or does not cause it. Your doctor is probably speaking from experience with other patients that have used it and medical findings. If you are concerned about it, talk to your doc again and see if there might be other alternatives that you can use. ## my dentist gives me a prescription of rapiclav, zerodol, and flagyl to use before he could extract my tooth which he says has an infection. i w...

The soles of my feet experience burning sensations every 4hours regularly. I have tried several meds including gabepenton, oxycodone, Lyrica, hydrocodone. I have to admit that this would drive me crazy. LOL Do you have any diagnosed medical conditions? Have you tried consulting a neurologist, or allergist? I was prescribed Cipro for a UTI. However after 2 days I started having numbness/tingling in my hands and feet. The doctor said to stop taking the pills. However I am still having the side effects in my hands and feet. Will this ever go away? ## Hello, Sahara! How are you? How long ago did you stop taking it? Those symptoms can be side effects of this medication, as reported by the FDA, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. And it may take a week, or so, for them to go away, once you stop taking it. ## Thank you for the info, I have only been off of it for a week. Let's hope these symptoms go away!

Hello, I take hydrocodone 5/325 for L3,4,5, disc pain and CIPN. It is not doing well for me. I was bumped up from 600mg of Neurontin to 800mg 2 months ago. All of March I was in constant pain, in the balls of my feet especially. I am wondering if the Hydrocodone needs to be increased since the neurontin/hydrcodone doses together aren't working. I will not see pain management doc again til May, any advice is very appreciated. Thanx :) ## Can you call them to explain the issue and see if you can get a sooner appointment? Have neuropathy in feet. Take 2400 mgs a gabapentin daily. Would lyrica help> ## Hello, David! How are you? It may help you more than the Gabapentin does, but there's no way to say for sure, you'd have to try it and see. It is a very similar medication, Lyrica contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, which is also an anticonvulsant that's been shown to help with certain types of nerve pain and some mood disorders. Side effects typically include nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, headache, weight changes and mood swings. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on most benzos. I find that 2mg Klonopins help both my anxiety and neuropathy real well. I have been tagged with an addictive personality. Here's the problem. It's the only medicine that works. That being said "I get nothing for my relief. I have to obtain these meds through other means". I'm 64 and I'm tired of doing this. Any reasonable ideas out there? ## I feel horrible for these people who can't seem to find help for their anxiety! Does anyone see a pshychiatrist?
