I have been taking the above for approx 4 months . I have been cutting down to 1 a day over two weeks and not taken any for the last few days . I am feeling very nauseous since doing this could this be connected. ## Hello, Darbie! How are you? Yes, that was a pretty rapid taper, so withdrawal effects, such as nausea, dizziness and diarrhea are to be expected. Why did you stop taking it? Have you been having a problem with the medication? ## Stopped taking cos I have been having tummy problems also for about 6 months on and off. Scans Cts you name it and they can't find out why. For various reasons I suffer from Spinal Stenosis, Herniated Disc in Cervical area of spine, also suffered a broken tailbone. I suffer from terrible nerve pain in my pelvic area, neck, down my legs and spine. My dr. has recently put me on 50mg fentayl patch. I also take Gabapintin. These still are only controling about 59% of my pain and if I do something to aggravate my injuries I sometimes get screaming pain. A friend recommended Methadone in conjunction with what I'm taking. I have taken Oxycontin, Oxycodone in high doses so my tolerance is very high. Can anyone tell me if adding Methodone to my other meds would help and if it could be risky--as far as overdosing etc..? ## I doubt that Methadone will help you, since the Fentanyl that you are already using is far stronger than Met...

Recently my dosage has been increased from 300mg to 600mg.Getting crampy calf muscles and pins and needle sensations in my feet and hands.Any ideas out there,can this Drug cause this? ## Hello, Jamesie! How are you? It is normal to experience more side effects, when going to a higher dosage of a medication. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and mood swings. However, side effects are usually transient and should go away in a few weeks, once your body gets used to a new medication. If they get severe or linger after about 4 to 6 weeks, you should consult your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?

My wife started taking neurontin last week for nerve pain in her back and legs the Dr told her nothing about the side effects and the pharmacy gave her a blanck piece of paper so she didnt know about the side affects. when she wasnt working she was taking hydrocodone and valium for the pain she wrecked her car at work because of the side affects, what can she do? ## I like to read all information about any drug and it's side effects before taking it. A dermatologist prescribed Neurontin (400mg 3x daily) for neuropathic brachioradial pruritis. Anyone else have this? I started taking it last night and took one this AM. It made m every drowsy. I want to get off of neurotin I'm takig 300 mg 3x daily how long will it take? ## My father has been taking 300 mg of neurontin every morning for approximately 3 years for treatment of neuropathic pain in his feet. He was diagnosed with dementia at least two years ago and his confusion and psychosis has progressively worsened. A nurse friend of mine told me I should immediately take him off the drug since her pharmacist advised her to do the same with her father whose psychotic behavior became worse when he started neurontin. I am in Recovery for 8 years 7 months from a severe opiate addiction. I abused painkillers for nearly ten years. I underwent rapid opiate detox. I was given Neurontin upon discharge for the residual withdrawal to combat agitation, mood swings, irritability etc; After 30 days, the rx ran out and I didn't see the need to refill it. After all, it wasn't giving me instant gratification. I have been on Neurontin for about 3 months but over the last couple of weeks I have been getting cramps in my legs like never before. I was wondering if anyone else had this issue with it. it might not even be from it but i don't know why all of a sudden I start getting cramps that bad.

I have diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. I also have bursitis in my hips. Which is better to control the pain and which has less side effects - (Epleptin 300mg three times a day or Neurontin 300 mg)? ## All medications carry the risk of causing side effects, and there is no way to say which one will be the best to help any given person, since we are all different. However, regarding these two medications, both of them contain the same active ingredient, which is Gabapentin, so there is really no difference between them. I know I am not suppose to drink alcohol while on this medication but I have a party to go to. Is it ok to stop taking the med a day before and pick back up the day after the party? ## Drinking alcohol, while taking this medication can cause an increase of side effects, so you may feel more nauseous, dizzy and drowsy than usual. Can someone tell me why someone would take Neurontin if they do not need it? My daughter is a drug abuser...I do not know why or how she got this med but she has no need for it but takes handfuls of these pills. or..when she has Xanax, she'll take those as well...what effects is she having from this? I've been on Seroquel 30pmg at night for about a year now. My dr has prescribed Neurontin 300 ( for pain) 3 times a day one at night for 7 days then increase to 2 a day and so on. Ive had the neurontin for a while now but havent taken it I started back two days ago My job is very stressful I have to be at the top of my game. I have found myself being tired and a little loopy, this is why Ive started in the past and then stopped twice. If I continue the neurontin until it gets in my system will that change??
