Any one in the Anchorage,AK area having trouble getting prescription for tramadol from your Dr.? My Dr. prescribe's me 3-50mg. a day, but for some reason he now will only prescribe me 60 a month. When I first started out with him he would prescribe me 90 a month no problem. I have verifiable lower back" degenerative issue" as he put's it. With MRI to prove it. Is tramadol now looked at the same as a narcotic or what? He doesn't even want to discuss the issue. Just weird. ## From an outside perspective I can only think that your doctor may just be looking for you by playing it safe with the dosing so that you don't become too dependent or addicted to the medication. Tramadol is addictive even though its not an opiate. Tramadol is not currently scheduled as a contr...

How long should my prescription of tramadol last? Doctors instructions are take 1 to 2 every 6 hours as needed. ## It would depend on how many tablets it's written for. Generally when it is 1-2 every 6 hrs as needed, they calculate it by 2 tablets 4 times a day which is 8 tablets a day max. Divide the number of tablets it was written for by 8 and you will have how long it should last. If you're only taking 1 tablet every 6 hrs that would be 4 tablets in a 24 hr period.

I have a prescription for Tramadol (45 pills). I'm supposed to take one every 8 hours. When do I need to get a refill? ## How was the prescription written? If it was written directing you take one every 8 hours, then 45 pills would last for 15 days. However, if it was written to be taken as needed, your doctor might expect it to last longer. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. ## I have a script for tramadol 50 mg and have been advised to take 1 tab every 6 hours. The quantity I'm prescribed is 70 tablets. How long will this script last?

I have 60 Tramadol pills and my prescription says to take 1 every six hours (only 4 max a day). How many days supply is that? ## That would be 15 days, if the prescription says you should take them regularly. However, this may be different if it is prescribed to be taken as needed, in that case, your doctor may expect it to last longer. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a prescription for hydrocodone 'take one every 8 hours as needed' qty 60. Got them to take instead of tramadol when I'm in a lot of pain. Last week & 1/2, I've been having major pain and the dr said I could take them every 6 hours til we get worked through this. So, I'm sure I'll run out, as I'm already getting low, before the monthly refill of all my meds. Since this is only a qty of 60, how soon can I get it refilled, as the dr. told me to try that first but if they wouldn't let me, he'd write a new script. ## Since this is a controlled substance, due to the Hydrocodone in it, which is a narcotic, the pharmacy can't legally fill it for you, until it is actually due for a refill. Federal law prohibits them from doing so. They may fill ...

I have been there I know what you mean. But I ask my doctor if he could take me off of that and give me Tramadole 50mg and with Tramadole you wont have the side effects from the pain killers it will take all of that away. Hope I was able to help you ## Hi Melvin, I'm not sure who you might've been responding to since this is a relatively new discussion thread with no other posts…but it's imperative that you don't give out false information pertaining to the side effects of Tramadol. All prescription medications have the potential to cause side effects in some users. And while not everyone experiences these side effects, you can't necessarily rule out those who do (especially those facing addiction or dependance issues). Linked below is a list of possible side e...

I take Tramadol HCL 50 mgl and Butalb-Acetamin-Caff . Is this dangerous? ## Hello, Patricia! How are you? The Butalbital with Acetaminophen and Caffeine isn't a narcotic, it's a barbiturate. It is most commonly used to treat migraines and its typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, insomnia and nervousness. Tramadol, however, is classified by the FDA as an opiate, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have they both been prescribed for you? Taking them both together could cause more sedation than normal, so your doctor should be monitoring you regularly. You should also know to watch for any possible danger signs, such as severe drowsiness, severe dizziness and troubl...

Hello. I am a 31 year old woman who was diagnosed 5 years ago with Psoriasis and more recently Psoriatic Arthritis. In addition to taking Humira for this, I also have been prescribed Tramadol 50mg 3x a day. While this drug may not help a lot of you with your symptoms, it has done wonders for me in more ways than one! I would first like to say though that even thought my prescription is for 3x a day, I only take one first thing in the morning and it helps greatly with my pain! Now for my question. After taking this drug for a few weeks it has done something strange. I have had OCD for years and over time my compultions have just gotten worse and worse. Now after being on the Tramadol they seem to be much better! Has anyone else with OCD taking this medication had the same effects? I have...

I filled a prescription of Tramadol from Mexico & the brand is Adiolol 100 mg capsules. There are no markings on the capsules & they're white. Anyone know if these are legitimate? Just concerned about the reliability. ## Unfortunately, there is no way to be sure, that is the hazard of filling a prescription in a foreign country. Their medications are not as strictly regulated as those under the auspices of the FDA. If you received it from a legitimate pharmacy, with a good reputation there, then most likely they are real, but there's no way to be certain, unless you would have them tested by a lab. A quick search doesn't even turn up anything under this name, but the databases that I use are geared towards U.S. approved medications. The FDA warns that Tramadol carrie...

I just moved to San Miguel de Allende Gto Mexico... Will I still need to have a doctor prescribe Tramadol or does it not require a prescription in this Country? I had 11 knee surgeries in the last 3 years. Good news, I'm not in a wheelchair anymore!! Thanks so much. ## @Pattykakes, As far as I know from reading other's reviews, Tramadol allegedly does not require a prescription in the event that you obtain it directly in Mexico "in-person". I think the only problem lies with those who try to go on the internet and search for it that way - since they are still in the US and therefore have to abide by US laws and regulations. However, I speculate that even if it does require a prescription in Mexico, there's widespread rumor that their doctors tend to be more lenient w...

I need to know how to wean off tramadol without bad withdrawls.please help? ## Hello Marie :) The best thing you can do is talk to your doctor that is prescribing it. They should be able to come up with a good taper plan for you and also might have other meds to put you on to make this process easier. Talk to you doctor about Gabapentin (good prescription med to help you with the restleg/sleep/pain you get at night). Also an anxiety med during the day would be helpful. If you have been ordering it off the internet and/or are not able to get a doctor here are some suggestions. Cutting cold turkey is not advisable (I have done it twice and the withdrawals are awful and can be dangerous) Tapering really depends on how long and how much you take a day, but if you check out this article it h...

I have some pills that are little white round and don't have no imprint expose to be tramadol ## Hello, Ray! How are you? If they have no imprint, they are most likely just some type of over the counter product. All U.S. prescription tablets are required to have imprints to enable their identification, in case of emergency. The imprint enables someone to discover what medication they contain, the dosage and what pharmaceutical company manufactured them. Only over the counter products are not required to have imprints. The FDA lists Tramadol as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. I'm not sure which over the counter product this is, because there are m...

I live in Memphis and am suffering from chronic pain from c1 and c2 in my neck and the trap area in my shoulder. My collarbone often feels like it is broken. I have dealt with this pain on a chronic and severe level since 2007. I have had no insurance for most of my adult life but my husband was recently accepted as a senior scientist at St Jude Children's Research Hospital.the pain recently got so bad that I had to go to the emergency room even without insurance they gave me dilaudid to relieve the pain as well zofran which helps relieve nausea. I left the ER with a prescription of tramadol immediately made all pain go away. Unfortunately I was only given a very limited quantity and was hoping that I could make a visit to my regular doctor so that I could get a refill she looked at...

I pulled a muscle in my lower back and am in a lot of pain but am unemployed at the moment and can't afford to see a doctor and fill a new prescription. I found an old bottle of Tramadol HCL 50 MG with an expiration date of 3/22/2007. It has been stored in a cool, dark, dry cabinet all of this time. Does Tramadol HCL become unsafe or lose its potency after its expiration date, especially this long after? ## Unsafe: No. Loss of potency: Yes (to a degree)! In the original factory sealed bottles that your pharmacy receives, most medications are touted to only be good for 3 years. Once those are opened and they are placed in a bottle that exposed them to heat and light, they're subject to degrade faster and will lose potency. On the contrary however, something to keep in mind is tha...

It is a precarious time for anybody who has been obtaining Tramadol over the internet. I've already read some of the other threads on here where a number of patients are suffering because they are unable to obtain a refill on their prescriptions. If you are unable to get your prescription filled then I HIGHLY RECOMMEND working with your doctor to taper down since the last thing which you want is to go through any major withdrawals! At the same time I DO NOT RECOMMEND switching to a narcotic pain killer such as Oxycodone since you will find the physiological dependence can be WORSE than Tramadol. Can anyone speculate the reasons with me? I suspect that many of the illegal suppliers are being stopped and as a knee jerk reaction I speculate that perhaps the DEA / FDA have started impos...

my mother lives in a rural area in qld australia and find s it hard to obtain her medication. i am her carer and she has asked me to seek information to relieve her pain. mum is a cancer sufferer. ## Hi! I'm very sorry about the problems she's having, no one should have to suffer and be miserable. However, I really don't know what options are available in Australia. The best idea I have is for you to check and see if there is a mail order place that can send her prescription medications directly to her door, or to you as her caregiver. If that's an option that's available there, it may help because her doctor could fax the prescriptions to them, which would save a lot of hassle and trouble. Does anyone else have any ideas?

I've been taking 50 to 100 mg Tramadol per day for 3 years. The prescription is for 200 mg per day. I noticed that wehn I go a day with 0 mg I feel a little edgy. Now I'm really worried becasue I had ankle surgery 14 days ago and I haven't taken the tramadol because I'm taking percocet. When the percocet wears off I feel very edgy, slightly nauseous, depressed and achey all over. Now I'm afraid that when I run out of percocet I'll be really sick from the tramadol withdrawal. Has anyone out there experience with tramadol withdrawal? How long does it last. How sever is it? ## I've taken Ultram 300 XR for several years now. I stopped taking it back in the summer to detox my body. I didn't experience any withdraw from it. I would be more concerned about the P...

Where do I need to go to be prescribed Percocet, vicodin, anything along the lines of that? I suffer from endometriosis severe, intense pain and swelling in my sacrum and coccyx which puts pressure on my sciatic nerve sending pain down my legs. Legs that are not in their best health with osteo-arthritis and raynauds circulation disorder. And they want to give me tramadol and flexeril, when tramadol causes involuntary muscle spasms. Worst part I'm only 26, What do I do? ## Hello, Dee! How are you? You'll most likely need to go to a pain management specialist, due to the new restriction that were set forth by the DEA last year. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizzine...

I got a script of 50 tramadol on the 21st of April. When is a good time to get it refilled? I was to take one to two 3 times a day. ## Refill depends on the NUMBER OF TABLETS your original script called for divided by six. That's the number of days coverage you have beginning on April 21st. ## It can also depend on how the prescription was written. If it to be taken on an as needed basis, then your doctor may expect it to last longer than the division would imply. However, this is a controlled substance, since the FDA classifies it as an opioid, so your pharmacy won't let you get it filled too early. It is warned that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation and dry mouth. Is there anything else I ca...
