I am new to Philadelphia, moved here from north NJ and am looking for a doctor or a place to get my medicine. I have titanium in my neck and 3 years out from the surgery. Been on liquid methadone 3 years going in Wednesday to have hardware put in my neck not dosing Saturday and Sunday but will Monday when I pick up my take homes won't dose Tuesday or Wednesday when I go for surgery I'm scared my methadone will block the pain medication they will use in the hospital and I'll lay there in Alot of pain 90 MIL of methadone just barely touched pain I'm in everyday... I really need to try to find a new pain doctor that is closer to me. I love the doctors there they have been wonderful to me. I have been going for 5 years and now for the last 8 months I have driving myself and I really have not built up enough strength after having neck surgery. The problems I have now wont go away and I just cannot function normally I have problems with walking very far, I cant stand up more than a few minutes, and on a really good day I can curl my hair. I have chronic back and neck pain, I was on a high dose of Morphine for a long time and came off of it a year ago. The pain is so bad that I had to start taking Vicodin off and on and it helped but it made me sick to my stomach because of the Tylenol. I was on every nsaids made for many years due to failed back surgery etc. I have a nice doctor who seems very understanding about joint pain and will give me what ever necessary. I am taking Oxycodone 5 mg. because it has no Tylenol and it doesn't make me sick. I am afraid of my body getting used to the drug and having withdrawals when stopping. I have had multiple back surgeries and have severe nerve damage and further disc issues in thoracic and neck. Been in PM for over 10 years and took many years to come up with combination that worked for me. He retired and sent to new doc who dropped me 3 months later after i expressed concern over being able to afford the treatment route of MRIs and surgeries. I recently had a major cervical and spine surgery. But still the pain is very severe with me taking 20mg of oxycodone every 3 hrs plus 1000 mg of Tylenol Extra every 6 hrs. What do you suggest? ## Hello, Salem! How are you? You may want to try asking your doctor about trying Oxycontin, it's a time released formulation of the Oxycodone that lasts for 12 hours, so it could give you better pain control. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Need to find a Dr that write lagit scripts for pain meds in my area. I live in elkins wv and have a lot of back, knee, and neck problems. I make over $500 a week and money isn't a problem. I just need somting to help me with the pain while I work. I can't afford to take months off for a ridiculous surgery that will make s*** hurt worse. Any suggestions would be awesome.

Hi. I’m on seroquel, gabapentin, methylphenidate, klonopin, and lithium. I had surgery. Had filled out all the meds I take. After surgery I was on norco for 4 or 5 days. Still hurting and severely inflamed. I called the surgeons office. He gave me Tramadol 50 mg every 4 hours and ibuprofen. After about 4 days I started having tremors. Face and neck twisting stretching kind of thing. My left thigh is still numb and leg was very heavy. Also constant clearing my throat and non stop humming or singing or just making grunting noises. I called the pharmacy the next day as I was so wired and shaking I could barely stand up. Obviously they said stop immediately. I also quit the lithium. Need to find doctor to fill pain medication in surrounding Nashville area..Our Doctor after 15 years of going to, fell ill and close his practice. .Mom has chronic back an leg pain and can't have surgery and myself numerous knee surgeries. .Most doctors I found do not prescribe pain meds..Help :( ## Dr Yelameli at Nashville Pain & Wellness on Isabella Drive in Brentwood TN is a good dr but won't tolerate any b.s. I am 93 and have severe back and neck pain. I had back surgery 15 years ago after a back injury causing back and leg pain. After surgery, the leg pain went away but I still suffer from lower back pain. For a long time I would see the doctor who did my surgery every six months and he would give me a mega shot of cortisone on each side of my lower back which helped the back pain. Since then we moved to Orlando about 130 miles away from the doctor, but now I do not drive since I use a walker. My family doctor has given me hydrocodone-acetaminophen 5/325 and it helps some. I also sometimes take tylenol. Is it safe to take it with the other medication?
