I have suffered from paralyzing fear and ulcerative colitis when I get very nervous. The ONLY thing that seems to help is Xanax and xanax xr. I need a prescription and I have yet to find a great doctor that takes my illness seriously and realizes I cannot function with severe stomach cramps and dirahhea. I only see one doctor and he gives me a 3 month supply of xanax. When I went the last time he wrote me out a prescription but I still had two refills. I had a friend and her husband passed away and I gave her some of mine thinking I would have no problem re-filling the prescription. Recently I had cancelled my Xanax prescription 2mg/2× due to the fact that they change the person I am. I have been prescribed Valium as well. I called my doctor to ask for a refill of the Valium, telling him I had cancelled the Xanax script. He must have misheard me and called in a script for Ativan .5/2× day. Please advice or help!!! My wife just was approved for medicaid. she has a primary doc, gynecologist and is seeing a rheumatologist soon. I’ve been on Xanax during a few rough times for me in the past. I had a good psychiatrist (who is now retired) who would prescribe it for up to two months followed by a one-month taper plus gabapentin to reduce side effects of coming off of it. I lost my job a few months ago, still go to therapy for help using CBT for anxiety, but it’s become significantly worse now with money becoming very tight and still not finding anything. I’m now having multiple daily panic attacks and it’s effecting my ability to perform in the few job interviews I’ve been able to get. I have situational anxiety, my pcp prescribes me 0.5 alprazolam. She normally writes a prescription which states to take 1 tablet orally 1 x a day.
