My prescription says take one tablet by mouth twice daily as needed for pain my question is since my pain is worse at night can I take the two tablets at the same time before I go to bed? ## Hello, Tyusblue! How are you? !0mgs per dose is the maximum recommended currently. Have you consulted your doctor? They may be able to prescribe something else that would help with more of your nighttime pain.

There's no question that Welchol has been moderately effective at lowering my LDL cholesterol, but monthly prescription cost (including Welchol loyalty program discount) has doubled since I started taking it in 2013. Ridiculous! I've found internet references to Welchol being on the market as early as 2005, which means development costs have long since been recovered. Current pricing, which includes a $50 increase within the past 30 days alone, is nothing short of extortion. I'm out! Back to statins which work just as we'll. I can learn to live with the chest pains, but I can never reconcile being taken advantage of. ## Hello Dave! How are you? Rather than the statins, if they are causing you chest pain, you may want to ask about trying something such as Fenofibrate, whi...

Is my morphine oral solution still safe to take it has been refrigerated since April 2013 ?thanks ## Hello, John! How are you? Most likely not, liquid medications tend to go bad, after the expire and could actually make you ill, if you try to take it. It would be best to dispose of it. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have a script for methadone. Took it to Walgreens, but they said it cant be filled until November11,2013... I really need my meds before i go into terrible WD. Plz help... ## If you are at a pain clinic, then you need to call them and tell them you've either had a bad month and over-taken and work with them to get you back on track. If its your family doctor? Be ware, they may cut you off completely. I've been down the road of methadone and it was a terrible drug to be on for me personally. I told my doctor to put me back on Percocets and I've been fine ever since. Nobody can get your script filled but you, however you do need your doctor or pain management doctor to understand its not working for you as you shouldn't be out so early if they were. ## Does anyone know of...

when the supplies run out later this month that will be the end of that. Oxycodone – Market Removal of Unapproved Products On July 5, 2012, the FDA announced the issue of a Federal Register notice instructing companies to stop manufacturing and distributing unapproved single-ingredient, immediate-release oral drug products containing oxycodone. The notice is part of the FDA’s Unapproved Drugs Initiative to remove unapproved drugs from the market. New Oxy ir tamper proof aka Oxyceta courtesy from our friends at Purdue Pharma.... the same ones that fun did the east Force monitoring program in Florida privately ## Really, it's only the end of those certain unapproved Oxycodone products, not all of them, so there is no reason to panic. Hello, Wondering as I was taking Levoxyl for ten plus years and then in April 2013 had to start with another replacement as it was taken off the market. My question as it is on the market to use now is there any concerns with gluten in the products with the companies changing hands, and would there be any problems with cross contamination in the process? If not I will change what I am taking now even though I believe the company is not making a 75 dose, will take a 50 with a split. Will Pfizer have the 75 strength back on the market in the future? Thank~you for your response, Dusty ## Hi Dusty, According to Pfizer, Levoxyl (Levothyroxine Sodium) tablets contain the following list of inactive ingredients: Microcrystalline cellulose + croscarmellose sodium + magnesium stearate + calcium s...

someone please tell me the shelf life of sulfamethoxazole when being stored in a cool place. I've had this since 10/2013 it's now 2016 Can I take this now????? ## Hello, Pamela! How are you? If it is in bottle as dispensed by your pharmacy, it has an expiration date of one year, from the date you received it, because those bottles expose it to the elements that cause degradation. If it is in the original factory sealed bottle, then it is good for approximately 4 years, from the date you received it. If it is expired, it loses efficacy and could cause you to develop antibiotic resistant bacteria, so you should dispose of it and see your doctor for a new prescription, if an antibiotic is required. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, head...

From what I've seen online, there actually aren't any "new" Schedule H1 drug lists being posted anywhere. But for those who are still curious, I did come across a Schedule H1 drug list dating back to March 2006 that can be viewed in the li...

I have tried at least 15 meds over many years for major depression & wellbutrin is the only one that ever worked. The immediate release and the SR versions increased my problems w/anxiety, so the Dr. put me on 2pills in am of the XL 150 mg. version, and it has helped me have a life, not commit suicide, etc. Since insurers no longer want to pay for brand-name, I also tried wellbutrin XL150 mg, 2 pills in am from all 4 of the remaining generic mfgs , over the course of at least 6 mos. Felt pretty bad but hung on as I thot there was a lite at the end of the tunnel. 3 generics hd no effect, 1 had at most a quarter of the efficacy of the brand name. I don't have the name of the better one at hand, but when I find it I could post it here...Now I have a new HMO and they won't give ...

Iv been taking it its dated 2013 because icant aford the 60$ perscription for it n i need to have teeth pulled but i need to take the antibiotic first so am i poisoned. Am i gunna die thts realy all i need to know. Thankyou ## Hello, Karl! How are you? No, it won't kill you. However, medications do lose effectiveness over time, so it may not work as well as it did, when it was new. The best thing to do would be to dispose of it and pick up the new prescription. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am a 30 year old female and in the beginning of March 2013 I got terribly sick with some sort of cold paired with a severe sinus infection. I was prescribed Methylprednisolone 4mg dose pack. I completed that with only minor side effects however it didn't really work and I was back at the doctor a mere week later feeling just as bad. I was then prescribed Prednisone 20mg tablets, taking 3 daily for 5 days. It helped my symptoms and I felt better. However, my last dose was Sunday 3/17/2013 and today is Wednesday 3/20/2013 and I am feeling incredibly strange. I feel weak, tired, irritable, depressed, dizzy and light-headed at times, off balance and I am getting mild headaches. I'm also moody and have a short temper. From looking online it looks like these are some of the devastat...

I have been on a daily dosage (total) of 120 mg. of Oxycodone since 2013. My current provider is the VA hospital. They are getting worse than ever, treat veterans like crap, and finding a place to even park at the VA hospital is now taking me an extra 30-45 minutes of circling until I find a spot (I am a paraplegic and have to use a wheelchair so I need a spot that has the extra space that allows me to get my wheelchair out of my van). Anyway, I am hoping to find a doctor that will take over my care and continue me on my current prescription of 20 mg. of oxycodone every 4 hours. I have a condition in my spinal cord called Adhesive Arachnoiditis (diagnosed by the VA by MRI). I refused any narcotics at first and instead took a whole range of different drugs they prescribed to try to allev...

My baby is 17 months old and I only have miralax that says it expired March 2013 and it's February 2015 ## Hi Lakisha, According to consumer reviews on Amazon, MiraLAX laxative powder is reported to have a 6 month shelf life. And while I realize some medications are still deemed safe to take after the expiration date, I would still encourage you to get a new one since you're using it on a 17 month old baby who's system may be more sensitive to any slight degradation in the product. I hope this helps!

I knew it was too good to be true. With a FL state issued Rx card, Percocet was $47 for one hundred twenty 10/325 pills in December, but it went up to over $100 by January. They say it's because of those who abuse them, but does an increase of $.50 per pill REALLY discourage abuse? I seriously doubt it. If the theory is true, shame on you who take them to feel high, making us who need them pay double. ## Hi Suzi, Sorry to hear about the extreme price gouging going on at your pharmacy. You have every right to feel that way about those who misuse their medication. What's unfair is that, even at the end of the day, you still can't really do anything about the situation in its entirety. Those who abuse will continue to do so until they find their own inner desire to change their...

my doctor has prescribed hydrocodone and that is all I take for pain management in N. C. at Walreen's; I never was declined due to insurance nor store's policy for these tablets, and now my PA and MD in pain management have suddenly turned it into a "history" of me picking up my Rx's early on a regular basis ,which is not even true according to my records; I do not understand why one day it was fine with my physician, as I we had always agreed that I wanted lowest doseage of pain meds tolerable for my chronic pain due to herniations and bulging discs, and these are the 10/325's, I tried Tramadol as a break-through Rx, and dropped it, no break through meds. such as that had any help for me, and higher medications with opiates actually suggested by the PA were decl...

expiration date is 9/2013. Is it ok to take yet? need to take again for cholesterol med. very costly stuff ## Hello, Mike! Your doctor may approve your taking it, but most medications tend to degrade with time due to exposure to the elements, so they can't be guaranteed to be fully effective past the expiration date.
