my daughter, 17, has had nausea for three weeks most likely due to the overuse of painkillers for migraine headaches and NSAIDs. Sucralsate was given to her and now her nausea tripled. Don't know how to undo what has been done. Any suggestions to lessen the nausea either from this or other options. She's on PPI but doesn't seem to be working. It's the nausea that bothering her more than stomach pain. ## Has she tried any alternative antacids, such as Pepcid, which contains the active ingredient Famotidine? In some people, the PPIs can worsen nausea, stomach pain and other symptoms, so they may not be the best choice for them to use. I had a similar problem, until I finally got lucky and an ER doctor determined that the PPI that had been prescribed for me was contributing...

I am almost 3 months into a 12 month plan of Erivedge. I have been really nauseated the last few days. Throwing up and diarrhea. I have had only muscle cramps up until this point. Trying to figure out if its a stomach virus or the medication. Would it take this long for nausea to set in? ## Yes, usually nausea as a side effect of a medication would hit very quickly and not take several months to manifest. Learn more Erivedge details here. Have you checked in with your doctor? Odd things can happen with some medications and how they affect different people, so it's best to have things checked out to be sure.

I have been on this medicine for 5 weeks. 2 weeks at 5mg and 3 weeks at 10mg. As soon as I started taking it I noticed it affected my sleep. It pretty much put me into a manic state and was up for over 30 hours before I even felt like I wanted to go to sleep. I switched to taking it earlier in the day and that helped with the sleep but has made the nausea almost unbearable. I take it with food, drink plenty of water, pretty much have tried everything I can think of. I'm also not noticing an improvement in my symptoms. I struggle even more to get out of bed. I snooze my alarm for almost 2 hours every morning because I just can't get out of bed and feel exhausted. Not sure if this is the medicine for me. ## How are you doing now? Has there been any change? It usually takes about 4...

After taking my second 5mg pill at 8pm, I awoke at 4am with severe vomiting. 0ne to two time per hour for 8 hours. I had to go to an urgent care for medicine to stop the nausea. It's now the day after and I'm sore and uncomfortable. Seems pretty extreme for two pills. I have no problems with any other drugs. I will contact my Doctor tomorrow. Have you heard of any other experiences like mine? ## Hello, Tom! How are you feeling? I'm sorry about what you experienced. Yes, that is extreme. This medication can cause some nausea, as a side effect, but usually not so severely. It may also cause muscle cramps, loss of appetite and insomnia. So far, I've not seen other posts like yours, but I'll not claim to have read all the posts about this medication, since that isn't...

Good morning, My 81 year old mother-in-law had hip replacement the day after Christmas. Her doctor changed her heart med to Eliquis in the hospital. Since then she has experienced nausea nearly every day, some days worse than others depending on how much she eats..which on some days is not much because of the nausea! Also, after 8 weeks in rehab she was sent to the ER for AFib, now my father-in-law is petrified that every time she feels sick she has A-Fib. So frustrating..they are living in the ER. Have felt that it was the Eliquis since they changed it, since she had no history of nausea before the drug change. Have made my feelings known to the nurses, but they say every heart drug could cause nausea. ## Eliquis is not a heart medication, it is an anticoagulant that is used to help pr...

An antiemetic is a drug that is effective against vomiting and nausea. Antiemetics are typically used to treat motion sickness and the side effects of opioid analgesics, general anaesthetics, and chemotherapy directed against cancer. Anti-emetics are also used for morning sickness, but there is little information about the effect on the fetus, and doctors prefer not to use them unless it is strictly necessary.[1] Contents 1 Types of antiemetics 2 References 3 See also Types of ...

just took Bonine for the first time and i feel nautious. wondering if it is an initial effect of Bonine, or maybe because i drank some coffee not too long ago. plus i am getting on a plane and might be a bit nervous. can anybody else share their experiences with Bonine or Dramamine? ## Bonine contains the active ingredient Meclizine, and Dramamine contains the active ingredient Dimenhydrinate, both are used to help treat, or prevent nausea, vomiting, and vertigo. Ref: Bonine Information Ref: Dramamine Information The FDA lists their typical side effects as possibly including dry mouth, dizziness, drowsiness, and sedation. My best guess is that nausea is due to the coffee, and nerves, rather than the Bonine. Additionally, if you just took it, you wouldn't be feeling the side effects ...

Started today with first pill, wow, never been real sensitive to meds but this one, Contrave ,I was dizzy and VERY nauseous! Hope it's better tomorrow! ## Hello, Suzy! How are you feeling? Has there been any improvement? Those can be typical side effects of this medication, as reported by the FDA. You may also experience headache, nervousness and insomnia. Has anyone else that's taken Contrave experienced these side effects? ## Yes, as long as I eat a REAL meal, not a snack, then there is no nausea! I'm on 2 pills twice a day now and no side effects except some sleepiness!

Hi I take itraconazol 100 mg, two of them in the evenings, after dinner.I have been on it for three months. Some mornings I wake up with extreme nausea and other mornings not so! Can itraconazol cause nausea on and off or if the medicine is the culprit, would I have nausea every morning? Thanks for your thoughts. ## Yes, it can cause nausea like that, according to NIH reports. Other side effects may possibly include dizziness, headache, and stomach pain. It can also depend on when you take and what you take it with, such as on an empty stomach, or etc. Are you on any other medications?

I have been on Metformin 500mg twice daily for 3weeks now. I am so nauseated that I don't know how much longer I can do this. Has anyone ever changed from Metformin to another drug for Type 2? If so, what is the name of the drug that took its place? Thank you ## Hello, Terri! How are you? Have you tried taking it right before a meal? That may help to minimize the nausea. Your doctor may also okay it for you to take it while eating. Other side effects may possibly include dizziness, headache, hypoglycemia and flatulence. There are other options available, but only your doctor can tell you which one would be safest for you to take. Does anyone else have any ideas that may help?

I have been on 2 pumps of axiron for a month. Energy and libido were much improved. After about a month I started getting nausea so I stopped it on the recommendation of the DR for 2 weeks. Everything settled down. I was not nauseous, but my energy and libido also went away. I re-started it and am nauseous again. If the nausea got better over time I am willing to work through it. ## Hello, Ted! How are you? Yes, it should get better after a month or so, once your body gets used to it, but if you change the dose at any time, you should be prepared for it to recur. Did your doctor suggest anything you can take to help with the nausea?

Nausea starts about 1hr after taking the medication, which is 1 mg and lasts for about an hour, does it ever go away? ## How long have you been taking it? Side effects are usually transient and tend to go away, once your body gets used to a medication, but that may take about 4 to 6 weeks. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may possibly include stomach pain, loss of appetite, diarrhea and dry mouth.

I have been prescribed purbac for an abscess in the root of my tooth, Two x 960mg DS twice a day. I started the course last night and took this morning and am now very nauseous! Is it the purbac? ## Hello, Val! How are you? Yes, this antibiotic can cause nausea as a side effect. As reported by the FDA, you may also experience dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Have you tried taking it with food? That can sometimes help reduce the nausea.

I get nauseous when using hrt. Been on Angeliq for months and now nausea is starting again. Can i take Angeliq on alternate days to relieve nausea or is it unsafe to do that? ## Hello, Sarah! How are you? No, it wouldn't be unsafe, so you can do that, as long as your doctor approves. Other side effects may include dizziness, headache and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

Okay I quit taking Lyrica about a week and a half ago, I just stopped feeling drunk about 2 days ago. I am on day 3 of Savella Titration pack and I am starting to feel much better, I actually have energy! There are blogs like this one about Savella and some people say there are nasty side effects while your body gets used to this med as well, but I have not felt any yet. The only thing i noticed is that I had a little nausea the first day but none since then. Keeping my fingers crossed. ## Today is my third day of Savella- first day at 25 mg x/day. These three days have been hell- extreme nausea, hot/cold flashes and sweats, racing heart, fatigue. It took me five weeks to be weaned off of Lyrica and I'm so disheartened by how I'm feeling now. When did everyone's side effects...

I have been taking Chantix for a week tomorrow. From the first pill, I started getting a headache. Since then, the headache has stayed with me even after using ibuprofen and all throughout the night I am awakened by it. NEVER have I had a headache for this long and RARELY have I suffered headaches before, just mild and on occasion. The nausea comes and goes, but when it hits it hits hard. I feel weak and groggy too. I am hoping this will go away once I stop taking the Chantix, but I want to give it a few weeks so I can kick the habit. Yes, also a nasty taste in my mouth and no real interest in food, but eat because I know I have to. VERY BIZARRE how such a small pill with such low dosage can wreak so much havoc. I know for the long term, if it works, quitting is what's best for me, ...

Almost as soon as I took the first dose of one pill, I started feeling nauseated. I stopped after three doses, and, four days later, am still very sick to my stomach. It's a shame because it did help with the pain, but I can't remain glued to the house for fear of having to run to the bathroom. Does anyone know how long it takes for this to pass completely out of your system? If it helps to know, I'm a middle-aged woman weighing about 110 lbs. Well, that's what I usually weigh; I've lost several pounds in the past few days. ## Wow! It's odd for it to still be lingering after a few days of not taking it. Have you had any improvement, yet? This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness...

I'm on lexamil 10mg for 5 days now and I'm feeling terrible! I've got 24/7 nausea. The one day I had diarrhea and the next day everything was blurry the whole day and I was so dizzy, I hallucinated. I'm sleeping all the time, I shake a lot as well. They say it will go on for 3 weeks until it actually works. I drank on one day more than 7 nausea pills and nothing works. ## Hello, Hayley! How are you? The nausea, diarrhea and dizziness can be normal side effects, as listed by the FDA, however, they sound very severe and this medication shouldn't make you hallucinate. It seems that this might not be the right medication for you take and you may need to speak to your doctor about trying something else. What nausea pills did you take?
