Narcotics Drugs

How long do narcotics remain in the body after stopping use? My husband has been on methadone and oxycodone for years, in large quantities. He has been off them for a few weeks but he has a strong odor on his arms. We thought it might be the drugs coming out of his tissue.

I am allergic to sulphonamides in antibotic - when I took trimethoprim I got Stevens Johnson Syndrome. I went in hospitla yesterday. Was given morphine for pain and then co-codamol. Last night I felt very sick and dizzy and was kept in hospital this morning an hour an a half after taking more co-codamol i sat up in bed and had all the symptoms of passing out but didn't go fully. My heart was pounding etc. Could there be a link to my allergy as my skin has been itching and my arm burning but not rash as yet. I stopped taking them - doctor withdrew them. ## Hello, Vaness! This is a generic or store brand of Tylenol PM, it contains 500mgs of Acetaminophen and 25mgs of Diphenhydramine. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness and headache. I am teaching a medication administration course and need a list of schedule G drugs and rthe reason they would be listed as such ## I cannot find a complete list, most of my information is for the U.S. and they do not use the same schedule for drugs. However, the schedule G drugs are those that are available strictly by prescription. This is due to the possibility of side effects and the health dangers they may present if used improperly. Some that are included in this category are amphetamines and barbituates. What country are you in? I have been on (Suboxone) for about 2 months now,I take 8mgs or break the tablet in half.I have noticed that taking this i do not have the need for anti-depressants like i did or nerve pills and even my ADD medicine.I have not stopped it all together but have went 2 weeks with out it and felt great.I just wanted to know if other people have noticed this who are taking other medications. ## While it contains the narcotic Buprenorphine, which is technically a depressant, it does have the opposite effect on some people. That fact, coupled with the high it can cause some people, is a major contributing to fact to why there are so many that end up abusing narcotics and becoming addicts. Are there any other comments or questions?

My perspective is that as Pharma companies buy up quality companies like Watson, who put the required amount of the main pain-killing ingredient in each tablet, they then put in MORE fillers and less narcotic ingredient. Patently, this is why people are having to take more of these generics and often, due to them receiving less narcotic, end up lapsing into withdrawal. ## Generics do have to meet certain quality and efficacy standards, under U.S. FDA law, just like the name brands do. Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, they are allowed to differ by as much as plus or minus 20%, but in most cases that actually equals a miniscule amount. I picked up my last perscription from Walgreens for percocet n noticed right away the pills didn't look the same. I took them w/o pain releif looked up the pill number 104/44, fraud! I called police,confronted pharmacist giving fake drugs back, I called the DEA and reported this to walgreens dist office..have meds rechecked in front of u with pharmacist, any narcotics ## Wow! That is astounding and I am very sorry this happened to you. For future reference for anyone, all pills that are marked with a 44, followed by 3 additional numbers, are over the counter products. Please help.. I have been on narcotics for chronic back pain for 19 years and just moved to VA. I need to find a good Dr. that is not afraid to continue with my meds. Mallinckrodt makes Exalgo. There are a number of pharmaceutical companies that make Percocet (Oxycodone/Acetaminophen). I dont like taking any drugs but iv had three back surgerys ,Is dilaudid 4mg or ms cotin60mg. ## The 60mg MS Contin, Morphine, would actually be a stronger dose, to equal it, you would need 15mgs of the Dilaudid, Hydromorphone. After having heart skips or chest pressure and not being able to take statin drugs, since I was alergic to them.(I had a fever and vomiting for 24 hours), I heard that magnesium relaxes arteries, It stopped the chest pressure and heart skips. I use about 3 or 4 pills a day. It also helps with constipation since I have to take narcotics for pain. I hope this helps someone. Magnesium is very low priced at Walmart.
