Hello I'm trying to find out the new pain medicine that kids are taking today that replaces the pain pill oxycontin. I saw a show on TV about this but I can't remember what It's called? I think it starts with the letterA? It's the new drug craze today. ## The only one I can think of offhand that starts with an A would be Actiq, it contains the narcotic Fentanyl, which is over 80 times stronger than Morphine and is available as a lollipop, it's a formulation used for slow release of the medication. Does this sound familiar?

If taken correctly when i first start taking suboxone (first pill) will i feel withdraw symptoms or a buzz,or just normal? ## When you first start it, if your doctor has calibrated the correct dosage, you should not feel any differently. It is intended to be used to prevent the withdrawal symptoms you would experience if you tried to stop cold turkey. You may, however, experience the usual narcotic side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. You can read more on Suboxone here: Is there anything else I can help you with? ## I started on suboxone 4 days ago through a clinic. When I take my dose I don't have any bad side effects. I feel energized and just plain good. I'm not sure if this is what "normal" feels like because I've been using oxy ...

is this pill a narcotic round white pill Zc/82 A ## No, the tablet with the ZC 82 marking contains 200mgs of Lamotrigine, which is an anticonvulsant that also has several other medical uses. Learn more Lamotrigine details here. What led you to believe it was a narcotic? ## It is definitely lamotrigine 200 mg. Used as anticonvulsant and to treat bi-polar disorder. That is a very high dose not to be recreationally. You can get a rash without building up to that dose. Starting dose is 25mg.

I Recieved a letter saying that new law in new york can only allow 100mg a day of pain killers starting march 1st 2015? I"m on almost 800mg mixed between oxycotin and morphine has anyone else heard of this new law? ## Hello, Zack! How are you? Yes, the new limit is supposed to be no more than the equivalent of 100mgs of Morphine, per day. Have you consulted your doctor to see if they have any ideas? These new regulations have been causing problems for people all over the U.S. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## What "law" is this that you received? In 2013, the FDA tossed out this limit or morphine equivlent as ...

I am having a hip replacement but am on a waiting list, and the pain is awful. I need to take a pain reliever, but it has to be one that does not have acetaminophen or any other drugs that cause bleeding. I want to know if there is anything available other than just plain Ibuphrohen as it is not strong enough to help. ## Ibuprofen can also cause some blood thinning, just like the Acetaminophen, so can other NSAIDs. Have you consulted your doctor? There are some narcotic medications available that may be better for you to use. ## For God's sake this is a situation which causes pain that no NSAID or mild analgesic is going to help in the least. The mildest I would recommend would be dihydrocodeine but I doubt that is strong enough. Sevredol, instant release morphine, starting at a low...

I'm taking norco 10 mg 3 x day. I was taking 5 mg oxycodone along with the Norco at different times. I was starting to get no pain relief. My doctor recently changed me to 15 mg ir morphine tabs and now because it was not relieving the pain increased it to 30 mg er morphine taking it every 12 hrs. It's making me sick and not relieving the pain. Can I cut the er morphine pills in half safely. I'm still taking the Norco as needed. I've been taking pain Meds for 7 yrs for chronic pain and I can't go on like this. ## No, the ER means that they are time released, so it is not safe to cut or break them. Doing so could cause you to get too much of the medication at once, which creates the risk of overdose. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it ha...

I was robbed and ALL my scripts were stolen. I went a whole month without my Percs 15s and OC 40s. I finally went to a methadone clinic. Been on for 3 weeks at 60 mgs now and got my script back yesterday for my Percs and OCS so I didn't dose today and OMG the withdrawals are starting and they are bad. Taking Percs and OCS are doing S***. WHY AM I STILL IN WITHDRAWAL? PLEASE HELP!! ## Because there is something in methadone that prevents other narcotics from making you feel high. That's why they used to only give it drug users because if they did go out and use they wouldn't feel high. You should never have gone on methadone in between. It does help my back pain, but I'm not looking to feel high I just want it for pain management. Don't expect to feel euphoria for a v...

Is is possible to have withdrawals from hydrocodone, even though I am now taking oxycodone? Bad sleep, short of breath, anxiety, extremely tired. I thought I was sick, but I recall feeling like this when I was going off another addictive medication. I take klonopin to help me sleep, but want to take a hyrocodone right now to see if my anxiety will ease up...Any suggestions? ## Hello, Kathy! How are you? No, Oxycodone is slightly stronger than Hydrocodone, so you shouldn't be experiencing withdrawals. Those same side effects could be due to starting the new medication, though. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Have they eased up? ## I had a total hip ...

It is used for the short term treatment of insomnia. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, sleep actions, odd taste in mouth, and hallucinations. if I took a morphine 100mg and wanted to take a seboxin strip 3 hours later would I go into withdrawals or would I be ok I don't really know what would happen I don't want to go into withdrawals if I don't have to ## One of the ingredients in Suboxone is Naloxone, which is added to help prevent the abuse of other narcotics, while someone is under treatment with it…thus yes, it will throw you into dangerous withdrawals. When someone is starting treatment with it, they are specifically told not to take it, until they are already in full withdrawal, to avoid the danger. Both of these are potent narcotics and shouldn't be taken, unless they have been prescribed for you. They have the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, d...

My husband is an addict of quidict.....he starting take this medicine for drug treatment.....He stopped taking the drug but he is now an addict of quidict... ## Quidict is a very good med for drug addiction problem. U can't overdose it. U can easily taper off it without any prob. I'm pretty much sure that if he stops taking it. Then he will start taking the drug. Under medical supervision it is a Super medicine. Only need to take a pill in a day. So don't ask him to stop quidict. ## Actually that part is incorrect, you can overdose on it, just as you can on any other medication, if you take too much of it. It contains the active ingredients Buprenorphine and Naloxone, the Buprenorphine is a very potent narcotic, so someone certain could overdose on it. And Bharti, how long h...

Hi I'm taking 4 80 Oxy a day I'm starting suboxin Thursday I just wanted to know if I will gain wieght? I really want to stop this bad addiction it's killing me & my pocket $$ but I DON'T want to gain wieght I will absolutely not be able to deal with that! If anyone knows please help? Also I have Wellbutrin so I was thinking if I take both maybe I'd lose wieght? Has anyone had any wieght loss or gain? Thanks! ## Usually, it is not the narcotics themselves that cause people to gain weight, but rather the fact that the person taking them tends to get more somnolent and sedentary, while they are being treated with them. Do you exercise regularly and watch your diet? If so, then you should be able to continue doing so, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise.

how much is a lethal overdose? ## There is no pat answer to this, it varies depending on whether or not the person taking it already has a tolerance to opiates. If a person is opiate tolerant then they would need a higher amount to put themselves in any danger, however, a person who is not used to taking narcotics, would require a much smaller amount to achieve a lethal dose. ## I just took 5 2mg diluadid for the first time and I swear i thought I was gonna overdose do you think I'm gonna be okay im starting to feel better

I have been on suboxone for 2 yrs now. I recently relapsed and started taking 3 7.5 vicodine a day. How long do i need to wait until I can start taking suboxone again without going in withdrawl ## Suboxone contains the narcotic Buprenorphine and Naloxone, which prevents the abuse of other opiates, while you are on it. This means that you have to be in full withdrawal, before starting Suboxone, otherwise the Naloxone will cause severe withdrawals. Are there any other questions?

Is it ok to take lyrica 6hrs after taking 10 mg of methadone. ## Hi, Tony! How are you? Contrary to what many people think, Lyrica is not a narcotic or analgesic of any type. It actually contains the active ingredient Pregabalin, which is an anticonvulsant that can help with some types of nerve pain, due to its action on brain chemicals. Learn more Lyrica details here. And I didn't find any interactions listed between the two, but you should double check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain.
