Pain Medication Starting With A
Hello I'm trying to find out the new pain medicine that kids are taking today that replaces the pain pill oxycontin. I saw a show on TV about this but I can't remember what It's called? I think it starts with the letterA? It's the new drug craze today. ## The only one I can think of offhand that starts with an A would be Actiq, it contains the narcotic Fentanyl, which is over 80 times stronger than Morphine and is available as a lollipop, it's a formulation used for slow release of the medication. Three bad dis in neck and fibromyagia with severe migranies i think being put out of me out misery would be better lol. ## Hi Vonda, I'm sorry to hear about what you're going through. I personally don't have much experience with narcotic pain medications, but it sounds like you may want to speak with your doctor about trying an extended release narcotic pain medication such as Opana ER (ER stands for extended release), Oxycontin, or Morphine ER. Also, I do know from personal experience that exercise can really benefit those with fibromyalgia. My father has fibromyalgia and whenever he starts back on ... ...

taking two meds together
can hydrocodone/IBU be taken with doxycycl hyc ## There are no interactions listed, between taking them together, that I can find, however, you should check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain. Tolerence Fentanyl Transdermal Patch
I've been using the the 25mcg patch for chronic pain for 3mos. and feel it is not working as well as it did in the beginning. Could I be building a tolerence this soon? Should I ask my neurologist to increase the dosage? or should I ask for other pain med to use with the patch? ## You have definitely built up a tolerance. Also, the problem with extremely strong narcotics like fentanyl is when you become dependent (NOT addicted, big difference), your brain starts to send out a false sense of pain that is telling you that you need more and more. It is all up to you and your doc. The more and the longer you stay on it the worse it will be to get off of it (withdrawals). Also they could could give you something else on top of the fent for breakthrough pain, but it will just probably be ... ...

oxycodone gx es7
its for pain its a oval shaped pill with gx es7 on it i would like to know what it is and what is made of ## Well this is definitely NOT Oxycodone. Pill Image This is called Ceftin it is 250mgs, the active ingredient is called Cefuroxime, it is a Cephalosporin class antibiotic. This treats many different types of infections, including respiratory, but it is definitely not, any type of narcotic drug. ## By the way, I am not sure who told you it was for pain, but it does not fall under that classification either, as I said, just an antibiotic. The only way it will help pain, is if the pain is being caused by an infection, and after a few days of taking this antibiotic and it starts to work, then the pain will naturally ease, as it would with any antibiotic once it started working and defe... ...

why was it discontinued norgesic forte
I get pains down my leg usually when the weather changes from warm to cold and when it rains. I have always taken Norgesic Forte as soon as the pain starts and it always takes care of my pain. I can no longer get Norgesic Forte and the substitute my Pharmist told me to ask my Doctor for does not work. What other medications should I ask my Doctor for. I am in pain daily ## Hi Barney, Sorry to hear about your situation. I can't find any information on why norgesic was discontinued, but I think if you were to look into other Rx pain management options, there's always the usual list of narcotics to choose from; Oxycodone, Hydrocodone, Percocet, Norco, Dilaudid, Opana, Fentanyl, etc...Your doctor would probably know better than anyone else, which of these medications might be most a... ...

the patch questions
I have a friend who wears a patch on their back. They also drink and take ibprophen, and some vicoden. Isn't this extremely dangerous? I tried to discuss this issue and they told me the doctor said it is fine. ## It's okay.. all except the drinking. All people on a patch should be taking a short acting narcotic as well for flare up pain. The IB is also okay. You should get them to stop drinking though. ## If it is all prescribed by their doctor, then they are monitoring their use, the problem starts when someone is combining them and they aren't prescribed. As to the drinking, no, that should never be combined with narcotics, that is very dangerous and even lethal in some situations. ## It depends what kind of patch it is. If it's the morphine patch I would seriously ste... ...

vicodin 5 300
I have an abscessed tooth, and my dentist prescribed me vicodin 5/300. Every 4-6 hrs as needed. If one doesnt do the trick do you think it would be safe to take 1 and a 1/2 to 2 every 4-6 hrs as needed? ## It should be fine. Your tooth should stop hurting in 2-3 days and you'll have left overs anyways. Don't take more than you need though or we will see you back on here asking how to kick opiate addiction. Seriously though, the 5='s 5miligrams of the narcotics part of the pill and 10 won't hurt you any. also, take it just before the pain starts as you wouldn't want to wait for the pain to start and have to wait for the meds to kick in 45 minutes later. ## Vicodin 5/300 is a low dose of narcotic plus 300mg of Tylenol. Taking 2 for an abscess every 4 to 6 hours is appr... ...
