I learned the hard way after a doctor prescribed these to me & I had told him I was in recovery.. doctors either don't care of they just don't f***ing know ! ## No it is not a Narcotic. Can it be habit forming & addictive? Oh yeah! ## @chris, It's true that doctors don't always know what's best for their patient's specific needs. And at the end of the day, I think more patients should try to take it upon themselves to do their own research and not leave it all up to someone who may really care less about their situation. To my knowledge Soma is a non-narcotic medication, but ...

I have been suffering for 8 years with sever back and neck pain. After surgery, I still didn't get relief. I was sent to a pain manage Dr. who put me on Narco's and Somas. It help me return to most of my daily living without this horrible pain. I found it slowly stopped working so I increased my dose. After a while I got concerned because I started counting my pills and would panic when I was close to running out. I felt I had a problem so I got with another Dr. who percribed Subutex for 2 reasons. One to get off the Narco's and felt that the Subutex would control the pain. It was easy. No withdrawal's at all from getting of the Narco's. At first I felt that it was helping me with the pain, but once again I found myself taking more because the pain was coming back. I...

Need to know if it's safe to take a soma and a percocet 10mgs together? ## Many people who take opiates find that Soma also potentiates the effect. Is it safe, safe from what? ## Hello, Kitty! How are you? As long as your doctor approves and has prescribed them both. Muscle relaxants are often given with an opiate analgesic to help get better control of pain. However, they can both cause depression of the central nervous system, which could be dangerous, if you're not opiate tolerant or have a condition that affects your breathing, such as COPD, or you heart rate, like hypotension or bradycardia. The FDA classifies Percocet as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constip...

I have been taking soma and Norco for a many years for a c5, c6, fusion with a metal plate and screws. I have herard my pcp wont prescribe these meds anymore due to dea getting involved. my condition is real, experience a great deal of pain is this true? ## Hello, Carol! How are you? Yes, that is true. New regulations have been put in place that require anyone needing such medications on a long-term ongoing basis see a specialist. Norco is now a schedule 2 drug, it is narcotic that carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. Muscle relaxer Cor 103 ## I have taken Soma/Carosoprodol 350 mg X 4 a day for 5 years. They do very little but relieve nureuthopy (spl). However, I recently got a prescription for Soma cor 103 and they messed me up. I am not taking them. All the other brands act the same, but this cor 103 acts more like a narcotic, and I do not take narcotics. ## Yes, COR 103 is Carisoprodol 350mgs, a generic for Soma. So not a narcotic at all. However, the reason it could be causing you to feel that way is the real nature of generic drugs and the laws that control the making of them. In truth, generic drugs are allowed to differ, in the ACTIVE ingredient, from their name brand counterparts by as much as PLUS or MINUS 20%. In addition, it DOES NOT necessarily have to be the same exact active ingredient ...

HAVING UNENDING MUSCLE SPASMS IN UPPER BACK, ALMOST BAD AS A KIDNEY STONE PAIN YEARS AGO. WHICH IS BETTER I HAVE HAD SOMA,AND SOME PEOPLE SAY FLEXERIL.SOMA JUST MADE ME SLEEPY,ALSO TRIED HYDROCODON#5OT MUCH BETTER? ## Have you consulted a doctor? Soma contains the active ingredient Carisoprodol and Flexeril contains the active ingredient Cyclobenzaprine, both of which are muscle relaxants, so they will only help if your pain and problems are caused strictly from muscle pain and spasms. Hydrocodone is a narcotic, that may help with most types of pain and there are higher dosages available that contain 7.5mgs and 10mgs of it. However, only your doctor is going to be able to help you determine what is causing the problem and arrive at a proper treatment option. ## Soma is the only med I...

I take narco 10s, soma 350, and the klonopIn 1 mg ... Is there any Otc medication that can supplement narcotics with? They just aren't taking the pain away lol they used to.. Appreciate it ## No, it is not a good idea to add anything else. The Norco already contains Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, as listed by the FDA. The Acetaminophen augments the action of the narcotic in some people that take it. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. If your pain is no longer being alleviated, then it would be best to speak to your doctor. You may need a dosage adjustment or to try a different medication. Is there anything else I can help with?

Can anyone help me with the name of a doctor that is not afraid to prescribe soma? I understand my prescription can not cross state line. I have been told by walgreens it has to be a local dr. ## I did not know it has to be a local Doctor as Federal Law should apply. Seems that the State is meddling in places it has no right to be, and we the patients suffer. I know in California and Arizona Walgreens wouldn't tell you this, even though the Doc might? ## Hello, Susan! How are you? To explain this issue, Soma has become more strictly controlled, since it is very commonly abused, which means that the pharmacy stock limits now apply to it, just as they do for narcotics and benzodiazepines. Every pharmacy can only stock a certain amount each month, once they are out, they are out until ...

What is the strongest soma made ## There is a 350mg tablet, which is the strongest available on the U.S. market. Learn more Soma details here. Due to the risk of muscle relaxants causing depression of the central nervous system, the FDA tends to be very picky about the strength of any that are available. Are there any other questions I can help with? ## P450, kipper here, is soma a schedule 2 narcotic? Or can my PA give it to me? ## Soma is a Schedule IV Medicine. It is not a "Narcotic" or a C2 substance in PA. A MD, PA, DO,or NP can prescribe this medicine. A DVM or DMD, the DMV or Doctor Joey can't!
