I have taken 220mg naproxen sodium and 1000mg acetaminophen. Can this hurt me? I woke with fever and pain in head and shoulders and had those available so I took them. Now I am worried as I am feeling dizzy and have a stomach-ache. ## Hello, Jim! How are you? Did you experience any other adverse issues? Those aren't dangerously high doses of either, but mixing them could cause you to experience more severe side effects than usual, you may also experience headache, increased risk of bleeding, and easy bruising, according to the FDA. Thus, it is usually best to stick with just one, unless your doctor instructs otherwise. ## Yes or No please: Does Naproxen contain acetaminophen?

I have had a fever ranging from 100.5 to 102.0 for just over 24 hours. Fever went away and felt great all day today. But came back this evening. My body aches so bad and cannot get comfortable or fall asleep! I took a hydrocodone 5/325 an hour ago and my temp is still up. Is it OK to take a 500mg naproxen? I NEED SLEEP! ## They can be taken together, as long as your doctor approves. Some people do take both, or alternate them to get better control of pain, or fevers. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Are you on any other medications?

Acetaminophen + Codeine Drug Index

Codeine/paracetamol, also known as codeine/acetaminophen and co-codamol, is a compound analgesic consisting of a combination of codeine phosphate and paracetamol (acetaminophen). Co-codamol tablets are used for the relief of mild to moderate pain when paracetamol or NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, aspirin or naproxen alone do not sufficiently relieve a patient's symptoms, or where their use is ill-advised. In 2019, it was the 173rd most commonly prescribed medication in the United States, with more...

I'm on T3's and naproxen for my chronic back pain and just found out the implications of the use of alcohol with this medication. I am not an alcoholic, but I do enjoy my beer. I asked my Doctor for a replacement analgesic, but he just canceled my T3's, leaving me only the naproxen, not enough. I'm currently looking for a new Doctor and would appreciate some alternative pain killer suggestions, I'm not allergic to anything, but Im on some anti depresents, buproprion, sertralin, resperidon. ## Your risk is related more to the acetaminophen than the codeine, although your doctor may fear the opiate use more. More people suffered liver failure last year, due to overdoses of acetaminophen than any other single cause, so the risk is real. In any case, 30 mg of codeine is no...

On taking either Tylenol or Advil I become wheezy, and have rapid breathing, which lasts approximately 1 hour with Tylenol but up 4 hours with Advil. I have previously been diagnosed with Aspirin and Ibuprofen sensitivity and told not to use. However, I am now experiencing similar reactions when I take Tylenol. I need an alternative to use occasionally, for fever reduction, headache aches and pains currently associated with flu.. ## Have you tried Naproxen? It's the active ingredient in Aleve and the generic or store brands of it. Learn more Naproxen details here. I'd suggest asking if it's safe for you to try it. Alternatively, you could also look into the prescription anti-inflammatories. Have you tried any of them?

I have really bad back pain and was wondering if you can use hydrocodone acetaminophen 5325 TB for it. And if I can does it have aspirin? ## dwayne yes it is for pain and no it does not have aspirin in it ## What other joint relievers can I use for my back. That I can find over the counter. ## dwayne try aleve, same as naproxen it is over the counter and i find it better than ibuprofen-motrin, you may also try a magnesium supplement, try a bath with 1 cup epsom salt and some sports alcohol to the bath, i know this sounds simple but it works great. the epsom salt has magnesium in it and is absorbed thru the skin when put in the bath, just an old grandma remedy that still works great today. ## @Dwayne, As a former college athlete I can vouch for an Epsom Salt bath being effective for back...

wha is the diference between naproxeno sodium 550mg and percocet ## The primary difference notable between these two medications is that Percocet contains a narcotic pain reliever in addition to Acetaminophen. Naproxen is just Naproxen, without anything else. To put this into perspective, Naproxen in and of itself is not nearly as potent as Oxycodone, let alone the combination of Acetaminophen + Oxycodone (Percocet). I believe choosing one over the other all depends on what your pain management needs are and whether or not Naproxen on its own can meet those requirements. Can I take naproxen 440 mg & hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325 tb & 10 mg of cyclobenzaprine together? I fell down the stairs and have tremendous back spasms when I move at all. Thanks. ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there is a high interaction potential between Cyclobenzaprine and Hydrocodone, which states that taking the two together may increase your risk of certain side effects (such as: loss of balance, dizziness, slurred speech, confusion, changes in mental awareness & slow or shallow breathing). They go on to note that if the two medications are deemed to be required, your doctor may adjust the dosage and/or frequency of dosing in order to lessen these risk factors. I hope this info helps and that you get aro...

Have been taking 2 generic Ibuprofen 200 mg each (400 total) since Tuesday around 4pm for right side back pain from a fall on Saturday night - Aspirin before that. Not working. Tried Lidocaine patches 5% - Wednesday; no relief; took Naproxen 220mg - 2 of them; still no relief; can I take Hydrocondone Acetaminophen 7.25/325 now Friday AM? And if so, how far apart from the ibuprofen which I just took again? ## Have you had this checked out? If the pain is so severe that nothing you've listed has helped, then it might be time to have some consults to find out if the fall might really have done some damage. According to NIH reports it could be due to anything from a kidney stone to a broken rib, or fractured disk. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

pill, rectangle shape with round ends. on one side it says syntex and nothing on the other side. ## Syntex is the manufacture, they make a lot of Mexican drug products. Naproxen and Paracetamol/Acetaminophen is the combination you mentioned. This is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory combo used to treat pain and swelling. Acetaminophen is actually not directly classified as such, in the U.S., but it is similar enough that the FDA will not allow these medications to be combined into one product, here, due to the dangers. Side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, headache and stomach irritation. I've seen Naproxen and have been told Vicodin has this imprint as well. Are Naproxen and Vicodin the same? ## Naproxen and Vicodin are two very different pain medications. To my understanding, the similarities found in the imprint are just a sign that they had been manufactured or redistributed by the same company (Amneal Pharmaceuticals). The IP 190 500 tablet contains Naproxen 500mg (NDC 65162-0190); a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug. I'm researching pain meds for my knee pain after a replacement. ## Naproxen is an nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Naproxen is the generic name for Aleve, The difference is that Aleve is OTC because it is only 220 mg and Naproxen is prescription because it is 500 mg. Vicodin is a combination of hydrocodone and tylenol. Hydrocodone is a narcotic and can be addicting. You must have a prescription to get Vicodin. ## @original post, No, Naproxen is not stronger than Vicodin. Although it could probably compare to the acetaminophen in Vicodin, the hydrocodone is still a far more potent pain reliever in and of itself. If you're unsure of which medication to take for pain relief, I think it would be wise to ask your doctor/surgeon for their opinion on what might be most appropriate for y...

Can Aleve be taken at night if you are taking oxycodone/acetaminophen 5-325mg during day? ## Hello, Joan! How are you? Yes, you can, as long as your doctor approves.
