I have a bad pain in my hips and wanted to know if 2 Naproxen 500 MG would be too much to take...I'm hurting pretty badly. ## Hello, Terri! How are you? It would be best not to double up, unless your doctor approaches. Naproxen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory and taking too much of it, as listed in the FDA warnings, risks severe stomach and/or liver damage. Especially if taken for long periods of time. Its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Is it like a lower tab. can i go to work on it? ## I've been taking Naproxen (500mg) for muscle spasms in my back. I take it with food and it still causes nausea and a bit of disorientation...I don't drive for a few hours after I've taken the pill. However, I do not take a Naproxen until I've come home from work. I find that a combination of Naproxen and Cyclobenzaprine (anti-inflammatory) will ease my discomfort in a matter of 2 - 3 days. ## Hello, I believe the next lowest dosage is 375mg. Naproxen also comes in lower dosages of 220, 250, and 275 mg. There's no way for me to know if u will be able to go to work on the 500 mg tab because everyone reacts to medication differently. If you're worried about that, maybe try the 375mg dose. If you were prescribed 500m...

Is it OK to split this 500 mg G332 naproxen pill? I don't like taking the full 500 mg a it makes me tired. ## Are you asking about the tablet with the marking G32 on one side and 500 on the other? If so, then yes, it can be split, if your doctor approves, it is a regular release formulation, that's why it's scored. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Next month, after 3 yrs of unbearable pain, Im finally getting back surgery! (new disc, screws, plates, & rod ) My question is, Ive been on 500 mg of naproxen twice a day for over a yr. How long would it take to clear the nap. out of my system to safely take voltaren 75mg. Norcos are causing such painful constipation that it isnt worth it. Steroids were the best thing ever for reducing the inflammation & thus the pain but I cant take them anymore as they drove my blood sugar so high that i am, for now anyway, a diabetic. Hope someone can help me. Thank you! ## I'm very sorry that you're in so much pain! That's horrible! Both Naproxen and Voltaren are classified by the FDA as being nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, so unless your doctor specifies otherwise, you should...

Are naproxen 500 Mg tabs gluten free? ## @Wm1202, From what I could gather, the inactive ingredients in Naproxen 500 mg tablets are as follows: -[Croscarmellose sodium]- This comes from wood pulp or cotton fibers. It contains no sugar or starch. -[Povidone]- This is made from synthetic polymers -[Magnesium stearate]- 'Well, we know magnesium is gluten free...' Having seen that list I think it's safe to say that any Naproxen containing this particular set of inactive ingredients is deemed gluten-free. Please be aware however that binders/fillers may be subject to change from one product to the next. I hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply ## I know I'm a day or 900 late and about $1K short, but you can take NAPROSYN-EC. Just like ECOTRIN and some other quality EC generics, this has an effective "time coating". I've only heard about it in passing and a few female Pts asked me for "an emergency script." I have a mother and a sister. I ask a question or write a note or do and then E-Scr...

Can naproxen 500mg be taken for pain while on macrobid 100 mg for a bladder infection? I am being treated for a uti, takng macrobid 100mg, but I'm also experiencing pain in my legs for which I would take a naproxen 500mg. ## I didn't find any problems, or interactions listed between them, but it is always best to double check to be sure. The FDA lists the typical side effects of this antibiotic as possibly including nausea, dizziness, diarrhea, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Are you on any other medications? ## I was taking this too and had similar pain. My doctor told me to stop taking it and prescribed a different antibiotic. Four days later, I am still experiencing the pain in my feet and legs. They added it to my (short) list of allergies to medications.

I took my naproxen at 4: o'clock pm can I take acetami/ codein with no side effects. I am health my arthritis have me in pain. ## Hello, Sally! How are you? I'm very sorry that you're in pain. I believe you meant to ask if there were any possibly dangerous interactions, or contraindications and, if that is the case, no there aren't any listed that I could find, but it's always best to double check such information to be sure. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Does "as needed" mean I can take more than 2 pills a day if I need it? Like, can I take 3 every 8 hours for pain safely? ## Hello, Rae! How are you? No, as needed means that you don't always have to take a pill every 12 hours, if you don't need to, but you can take up to 2 a day, 12 hours apart, if you are in pain and need to do so. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding, and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

can 40 of 500 mgs of naproxen and 20 of 15 mgs meloxican cause death? ## Both are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories, which are known to be toxic at very high dosages, so yes, it is possible. Those amounts would exceed the known daily tosic levels of these medications and can be very dangerous. Checking if OK to take these together: meloxicam 15 mg, naproxen 500 mg, and benedryl 25 mg ## No, you shouldn't take the Meloxicam and the Naproxen together, both of those are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory medications, so it's basically doubling up on the same thing and is completely unnecessary. Additionally, they both increase blood thinning and taking them together heightens that effect, they also both increase serum potassium, which is also heightened by taking both and too much potassium building up in your body is very dangerous. The Meloxicam also increases your levels of the Naproxen… You can learn more Meloxicam details here and you can learn more Naproxen details here. I hope that is enough to give you the idea that combining them is a bad idea. :-)...

oxycod apap 5 325 mg or naproxen 500 mg which is better for neck pain and back pain ## These are two very different medications, which treat pain in different ways. The Oxycodone with Acetaminophen is a generic for Percocet, it is a narcotic (opiate) analgesic. Thus it does carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation and drowsiness. Learn more Percocet details here. But the Naproxen is just a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory that's used to treat pain, fever and swelling. Its side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach irritation. Apo-Naproxen. This drug is elevating my blood pressure I have taken four 500 mg over 3 days how long does this take to get out of my system ## It could take a few days, before things return to normal. However, for future reference you should be aware that nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories can cause elevated blood pressure, as well as fluid retention, as side effects, as reported by the U.S. FDA, along with nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. How much were you taking and how long were taking it?
