I took my first Oxy 60 OP. It did not work well...reminded me of the generic ones a few years ago. Does it hurt the op 40's if they are cut in half? I don't like to take the whole pill at once. ## Since these are time released tablets, it isn't advisable that you cut them in half, because even with the new formulation, it could still result in the Oxycodone being released faster, so you get too much in your body, at once. There are lower dosages available, have you tried asking your doctor about just prescribing a lower one? ## That's not correct you can cut them ## Yeah you can. this is in reply to all who are complaining to the new oxycontin 80 OP. I have been takeing them for 2 years now. My last scrip is still the OC. I pray they are pulled before we get them here. There are other meds we all can go to such as the fent. Patch which comes in a lolly pop too. I bet they will be pulled & back to the old ones before the year is out ## Pharmacies are allowed to continue to dispense the original product, until their stocks runs out, then all will only be able to get the new Oxycontin OP. really bad back pain it kind of hard to keep my back straight. I just can't handle the pain ## I can't post pictures due to copyright reasons, however, the new Oxycontin OP tablets are all marked with the OP on one side and the relevant dosage on the opposite. I just got my monthly fill of Oxy 60 oc. But this fill I noticed the pills say 60 and on the other side it is stamped op. Is this the same meds as I have been taking? Thank you. OMG I felt like I was being posioned. I have taken OC for 3 years now, it has made my life managable. I suffer from severe chronic pain. I started taking the new OP 20mg on Friday 3X daily. After the 2nd dose I felt sick to stomach I did not relate it to pill, After 2nd day I felt like I was going to die. Could not eat or drink or sleep. Had chills like withdrawal symptoms. Day 3 throwing up, stopped taking the pills. Two days have past I now take the Opana, as soon as I started taking the Opana my symptoms were subsiding. I've been taking oxycontin 30mg with oc on them - this time i got oxycontin 30 with op on them and they seem to make me sick. what is in it ## The same thing that was in the original Oxycontin, the active ingredient is still Oxycodone, a potent narcotic pain reliever. This means the side effects are also the same: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

Chewing it is difficult, as tough dried-jelly-like interior is very cohesive and sticky...it tends to work its way into tooth's biting surface irregularities, and is compacted into spaces between teeth, where it can take 30 or more minutes to disolve. If you cut in half a new oxycontin OP no matter the doses (10, 20, 30, 40 etc.) does it retain the same time release quality? I am dropping down and want to know if 2.5 is just that, a time released 2.5? A drop from 3 mgs will help with my goal to get to zero, asap. I don't want a sudden flood of oxy hitting my system. I have been taking oxycontin, now since they changed the the formula i am up to 120x2 a day with a breakthough. It stinks i still have pain with the op kind. I tried 100mg patchs of fentanal. I have been on OxyContin 60 mg. 3 time'sa day for about 6 or 7 year's. It woked GREAT. I have gotten 3 refill's of the NEW OxyContin they are not the same, they do not work as the old ones did, they do not last as long, it takes longer to take ANY kind of effect, I have went to the doctor, he does not want to change any thing, I called Purdu to find out how to get the old one's back, some one said if op is on the pill instead of oc it would be equal to the old one's. Hello I'm Ken i live in Virginia and been disabled for along time now been on every pain med available seems like but i use to be on oxycontin er the 12hr pill my question is do they still make and or prescribe the real OC in any milligrams here in the states or do they only have and prescribe the new version which is OP cause the oc formula worked good for pain it lasted for me an 80mg lasted about 6to8hours versus the new OP formula which did not help my pain at all it just seem not to work so i had my doctor switch me to another extended release med cause why take something for chronic pain when it never did help i guess it helped me not to get sick so it was useless to me but all ppl differ when it comes to meds or just about anything that life throws at you thanks Ken ## Hello,...

I am wondering if there is a manufacturer of oxycontin other then purdue? I am taking oxycontin 80 mlgm, and purdue has changed the medication, and it does not work for me with what they have done to it. ## Actavis is a manufacturer of generic Oxycontin, my insurance will only pay for generic.
