N S1 A Narcotic

After a long career as a Firefighter and suffering through various injuries on the job I think I have tried a lot of different meds. A quick health history. Separated shoulder, broken ribs, surgery on both knees and back( L4-L5, S1). My narcotic history in order was Tylenol 3 and 4. Percocet, OxyContin up to 120mg a day, statex ,MS Contin, Dilauded, Butrans and finally now on Fentanyl 100 MCG every 48 hours I'm worried I have hit my narcotic wall and I'm worried that if any other more painful health issues come up I won't be able to get proper pain relief. Any experiences or medical opinion would be appreciated

My primary dr refuses to prescribe any pain medication at all for me, even though I have 2 ruptured discs, and my L5-S1 is completely gone so it's bone on bone and I have the MRI to prove it. He sent me to a pain management doctor, whose policy is to refer back to the primary for any narcotics...the Professional Run-around... I was on Tramadol from January 2014 to May. It wasn't the best, but made it so I could function. I had a seizure from it the first week of May, and have been without any medication ever since. Both doctors know this, and won't do anything. I have been waiting since May for authorization from the insurance for facet injections. This is ridiculous that I have been in so much pain that I sleep less than an hour a night, have had to go on a medical leave fro...

I just had lumbar surgery at L5-S1and with that chronic nerve pain. My Dr precscibed dilaudid which works great for me however it causes me severe constipation. The stool softners and laxatives just don't work. It takes me HOURS to complete a bowel movement and that in itself cause more pain. Is there a substitute for dilaudid that won't cause such constipation? ## Constipation can be a side effect of all narcotic opiate pain medications, unfortunately. I frequently had problems with it, when I was on them. Have you tried adding a fiber supplement? That was what I found worked best to solve the problem and taking it regularly helped me to stay regular, as well.

As to helping, I am sorry, but this site does not manufacture, sell, nor prescribe any medications, this is an information only website. Norco contains the active ingredients Acetaminophen and Hydrocodone, it is a narcotic pain reliever and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. I0took a Norco for 3 years and my doctor stopped Norco the first Day taking oxycontin my stomach was hurting and I felt nauseous and I had a headache do you know the reason why she put me on oxy 20 milligrams Op I've been diagnosed with a bulged disc l5 s1 4.0 millimeters ## Hello, Mikey! How are you? You were likely experiencing a slight withdrawal effect, because you went from a regular release medication to a time released one. And the reason she put you on the Oxycontin is probably to try to help you get better pain control, since lasts for 12 hours. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. How are you doing now?

I am 33 yrs old and in constant pain. Between the knee surgery and the dual fusion (L4-S1) the daily pain runs my life. With all the changes regarding narcotic pain meds my life has been turned upside down. I was on a regimen that worked well then BAM! It all went to s***. Now all my doctor will give me is Tramadol. This my friends is worthless. I am simply looking for a doctor that is not afraid to give me the meds I need and that my medical records warrant. Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. I'm in Fort Worth, TX. ## Need medication fo back & knee pain hydrocodone preferably ## A pain specialist without an attitude that has empathy for his patients? You will have to look overseas. My girlfriend took it for a pain killer, as she had surgery on the right shoulder and right knee. Now she has a very bad headache. ## The APAP is just medical speak for Acetaminophen and Oxycodone is a narcotic pain reliever. Yes, a headache can be a side effect of the medication, along with: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry mouth. Read more here: Do you have any other questions? ## I am a 31yo female and I've been taking Percocet 5/325 for about a week now. I have a herniated disk L5/S1 and am having surgery in 2 days to correct the problem but I have noticed that I am starting to feel like I am getting a UTI. I haven't changed anything else in my lifestyle and haven't had intercourse due to back pain for over a month now. I was wondering if anyone else has experienced...

I have chronic back pain from two fusions. I fell from 5 step up on a rainy deck and I had to have C3-4 fusion and L5-S1 And have been on pain meds for 11 years. This is the only way I can get through the day. ## Hello, Rita! How are you? There are 70mg and 75mg extended release capsules available and the next up in tablet form from the current dosage you are taking would be 100mg extended release tablets. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Another alternative would be to add a regular release breakthrough medication, so you can also ask your doctor about doing that. Is there anything else I can help with?

I have been on pain meds since 2005 for tendinosis, and more recently for DDD and a herniated L5 to S1. I have been taking six Norco 10's a day since 2008, and usually had no problems getting my scripts filled until recently. It seems pharmacies are getting scared of these new laws. I was using Walmart for several months until today they said they weren't taking any scripts from my doctor because of "lack of communication and because he writes to many scripts for pain meds". Yes, he writes many scripts for narcotics because he's a pain specialist! And I'm sure if he ran a clinic for diabetics he would write lots of scripts for diabetes! I swear, this narcotics scare is driving people nuts! Anyway, I'm so sick of all this craziness. I just want a pharmacy that...

Have a good one. Barbara ## There really aren't any. Gabapentin, a generic for Neurontin is an anticonvulsant that has also been proven to help with certain types of nerve pain. Vicodin contains Accetaminophen and Hydrocodone and is a narcotic pain reliever. Is there anything else I can help you with? ## Is there an interaction between Gabapentin and Doxy Cycl Hycl ? I was on Suboxone 8mg from the time of my inpatient detox from opiates. I was supervised in a proper taper. Every time I cut back I felt better. After 11 days on 1/8th of a 2mg strip, I stopped the Suboxone. I haven't been able to sleep since. I spin like a top all night. My back was injured Sat. a week ago. Would this be a withdrawal symptom or back issue or both? How long will the withdrawal symptoms last. I'm feeling like a zombie from NO SLEEP. Going to chiropractor, who says I injured S1 disc. So confused and don't want to go back on that awful drug!! ## Hello, Sula! How are you feeling? I'm sorry that you're miserable. It is most likely a withdrawal symptom, it can take several weeks for them to completely wear off. Suboxone does contain a potent narcotic, so s...

very small white pill with imprint S191 or 5191. Thank you ## Lunesta ## To be more specific, this is a 2mg Lunesta tablet, definitely not Oxycodone and not a narcotic of any kind. ## Thank you for your help in identifying this medication for me. It is a great relief to know, but my son had no business having this pill on him. I will discuss this further with him. Thank you again. Sincerely, Linda
