can someone on lisinopril be switched to diovan or norvasc
1 Reply RSS
i am taking lisinoril 10mg qd can i be taken off lisinopril and put on diovan160/10 OR Norvasc 10 mg? ## Well, it really depends on your medical history, any other conditions you are under treatment for and any other medications you are on. All 3 of the medications you mentioned are in different classes, so they work in different ways to help lower blood pressure or prevent heart failure. Lisinopril works by relaxing the blood vessels and it is an effective med for many people. Norvasc, which contains the active ingredient Amlodipine is a long-acting calcium channel blocker. And Diovan contains the active ingredient Valsartan, which is an Angiotensin II Receptor Agonist. There are many things that can affect which one is most effective for you and, for some people, only a combination... ...
