I took Metoprolol Tart for 2 months, June - July 09 and my heart rate dropped drastically, admitted to hospital with chest pains, breathing difficulty, dizziness, disoriented, head ache, suicidal/homicidal thoughts, heart rate was 32 bpm. Doctor said it was metoprolol and took me off it (was told later should never go off cold turkey) and my heart rate got up above 50. I continued to have problems (have had high bp 140-160 over 80 for several years) tightness in chest, chest pains, persistant dry cough, dizziness, suicidal/homicidal thoughts, headaches, was referred to a pulmonary doctor and then another and was told I developed severe asthma from the beta blocker, also restrictive lung disease, neither have a cure and I continue to have chest pain and dizziness and dry cough and headac...

I've taken metoprolol Succ Tb 100Mg ER for a few year from Mylan. Now I'm taking the same from PAR. I've started getting a lot of palpitation. Could this by the reason? ## Hello, Evelyn! How are you? It is difficult to say, there can be fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient from one generic to another and adjusting to a slightly different dosage could result in your experiencing palpitations. Other side effects, as listed by the FDA, may include nausea, dizziness, increased urination and headache. However, it would be best to have yourself checked out by your doctor to be sure of what's going on. Is there anything else I can help with?

low pulse, irregular heart beat ## I take both Lisinopril (10 mg daily) and Metoprolol (50 mg daily. 1/2 AM & 1/2 PM) These pills look a lot alike and it is possible to get them mixed up if not cautious. I did this about three times in a row last week. OOPS. But I'm still here and don't feel any side effects. I will be more careful in the future. Just thought I'd post this. ## i switched my metoprolol by mylan and my lisinopril by mylan to metoprolol by greenstone and my lisinopril by sandoz because it was cheaper but it sent me to the hospital. once arriving at the hospital they took my blood and said that i had a heart attack.. it was scary because i didnt feel right at all after i started takeing the generic forms. now im paying more for mylan but i feel as good as i ...

My generic toprol xl just changed to this and I want info on this manufacturer to see if there are any problems with it. ## I was also changed to the Actavis Metoprolol success er 25 MG due to lack of availability or discontinuation of Mylan's generic version. I find the Avtavis version not nearly as effective as Mylan and am trying to learn the status of the Mylan MT1 version, or the effectiveness of other generics for this drug. ## Although some manufacturers have a reputation for more or less effective meds, I find that everyone's response/reaction is also going to vary based on several factors; including but not limited to one's unique body chemistry, metabolism, sensitivities to inert ingredients, etc. That said, trial and error may be the only way to determine what wor...

I need to be sure this pill is blood pressure medication... I found it in my purse and I am out of metoprolol tonight (prescription bottle is empty and pharmacy is closed). ## Yes, it is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals and they do list it as containing 50mgs of Metoprolol. NDC: 00378-0032 The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased urination, and hypotension. In the future, it would be best to pick up a new supply, before running out, because if you don't have any for a few days, it could cause dangerous spikes in your blood pressure and heart rate, which may result in stroke, or heart attack. ## How are Metoprolol tartrate tablets supposed to look? Mine are pink with "M" over "32" on the back.

I recieved a refill on my metoprolol succ er 25mg, but this time instead of my usual round mylan I recieved the oval par brand. After taking half (12.5 mg) I felt great for the first few hours, but then after eating rapid heart rate, which is a problemI didn't have with the mylan brand. Has anyone else had their metoprolol switched from mylan to par or vice versa? Did your body ever adjust? Im also just wondering if the par has a shorter half life, it seemed to dissolve as soon as it hit my mouth, that didnt happen with the mylan pills. ## Hello, Sarena! How are you? Are you supposed to be taking just half a tablet? Did you actually check your heart rate, or did it just feel like it was fast? After switching from Metoprolol 25 mg by Mylan to Metoprol Tar 25 mg by Caraco palpitations & tachycardia have returned to an extent, after only a week. Can there by that much difference? ## There can be fluctuations in the amount of the active ingredient from one generic manufacturer to another, so there is a chance that there is enough difference in the dosage to cause you to experience such symptoms. Learn more Metoprolol details here. The issue, of course, is that these symptoms have the potential to be dangerous. Have you talked to your doctor? They may need to adjust your dosage. Are they both the regular release formulation of the medication? No ER, SR, XR or anything like that listed on the prescription bottles? ## There is nothing else on the bottle, like ER, etc.

metoprolol ## Good question. Do you happen to know what the strength of the pill is, as well as the manufacturer? There are several possible appearances for this pill. For example: Metoprolol manufactured by AstraZeneca comes in 25, 50, 100, and 200 mg dosages... All of those are White. But Mylan Pharmaceuticals manufactures METOPROLOL TARTRATE in 50 mg (which is Pinkish Red with M over 32 on it), and 100 mg (which is a lighter Blue with M over 47 on it). Not to mention there are many other possibilities. Hope this helps. James
