I had been taking the tan and beige prescription formula 20mg delayed release version of Omeprazole to treat my acid reflux for several months with no adverse effects. When I refilled the prescription this time, the pharmacy gave me the Mylan 6150, and after 3 days on it I developed a scary heart arrhythmia, so I stopped it immediately. The pharmacist argues that it is exactly the same medication; they just changed generic providers. Is this true? ## Hello, Lynn! How are you? Mylan Pharmaceuticals does list it as containing 20mgs of Omeprazole, but this is a regular release formulation, not a time released one, which might explain why you suddenly experienced side effects from taking it. I just picked up my prescription for my 12 year old son for mylan 6160 and when I got home, I noticed the pills were different than the ones he had been taking. The pharmacy had apparently filled the 6160 labelled bottle with 6180 pills. If I hadn't noticed, what would have been the results for a 12 year old diagnosed last year with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy if he had taken them? Do I have any recourse against my local pharmacy, whom when I called them, calmly said, just bring them in and we'll switch them. was the color of this capsule change from aqua mylan6150 to ku 118 white/brown ## Mylan 6150 is manufactured by Mylan Pharmaceuticals Inc. Ku 118 is manufactured by Kremers Urban, and appears to be repackaged or distributed by a variety of other pharmaceutical companies. Even though the way a pill looks is entirely up to the whit and whim of the company making it, I don't think the company changed the color; it was simply manufactured by another company (as shown above), and that is why it is another color. Can you take one one day and another one the next day? Ok to mix them? ## There can be some sight variances, but no, they won't be anything that will cause any problems or interactions if you took them like that. Learn more Omeprazole details here. When you'd need to be careful is when the active ingredients are different, such as if one contained Omeprazole and the other Lansoprazole, then that may cause some problems.
