My Oxycodone Is Not Working What Do I

I have been on opiates for over 10 years now and after refining the dosage amount finally found at sweet zone at 135mgs Morphine per day. I made a big mistake and asked my Dr if I could get rid of the day time Morphine and try something that would not be so sedative during the day. I was switched to Oxycodone from Morphine (not what I asked). The Oxycodone absolutely sucks as it only works for about 3 hours. I have asked several ways to get it changed and have now found myself being compromised. By me asking so deliberately they have now said they are taking all opiates away! I am freaking out, I am in tears in the morning and have to double dose in the AM to be able to not want to just give up. I started to argue with the Dr. and was just told there is nothing to do as that is the deci...

Hi, I've never looked for help on the internet regarding my medication, but I'm at a loss. I'm a 46-year-old, healthy, strong and fit female. Three years ago I was pushed from the top of a 4-story building, falling 80 feet. Subsequently, I still suffer from severe, chronic back pain. I take Oxycodone 10/325 every 4 to 6 hours to help manage my pain. When I last filled my prescription, 3 days ago, I noted that I am getting zero relief. I never take more than one pill in a four hour period. But that first day I took 4 pills within 6 hours and still didn't have relief. I called the pharmacy to see if the manufacturer had changed and she informed me that it had not. In fact I looked at the pills and they looked identical to the pills I got the month before. I don't think...

I was recently prescribed oxycodone IMM REL for my severe back pain and I wanted to know what is the difference between the regular oxycodone and the one I have now....please esplain if its addicted...reply thanks ## All Oxycodone has addictive potential, it doesn't matter what release type it is. IMM REL stands for Immediate Release, meaning the drug starts to be released as soon as the pill is in your stomach, regular release pills take 15 to 20 minutes to start working.

Is there anything that would help with my arthritis and body pain that's felt all over? My Oxycodone is not working. ## Hello, Tim! How are you doing? Are you on any other medications? What dosage are you currently taking? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, headache, dizziness, constipation, and dry mouth. What other medications have you tried?

I'm on the fentanyl 50 transdermal gel patch and am not sure why they have chosen to put me on it so quickly. Can anyone shed some light for me on this subject? My PCP had me on a sript of 120mg oxycodone..skipped lortab.. anyway I was only having to take about 90mg of that oxy to maintain my pain from bulging disks and herniated disk in my neck. I had been self medicating for the pain since I had no insurance and finally got some. The docs are at odds that I may also have fibromialgia. Regardless, it was working pretty well and a pain mngmt doc came to the clinic and had a 1 time assesment of all patient with chronic pain issues and said I should be on the 25mg patch ...didn't work. Went to 50 patch and was fine for about 2.5 months and no, again, not working. Why can't I j...

I have a question for a family member who is taking a white r p 20 pill it says oxycodone 20mg but they weren't sure what release form it was. And it being the weekend the Drs office is closed does anyone know exactly so I can inform my family member. ## Yes, that is a regular release formulation, so after taking it, it should start working in about 15 to 20 minutes. The FDA warns that it carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

My Pharmacy just gave me the blue pill with the U23 on it and so far it seems to be working the same if not somewhat better than the smaller blue pills that I had prior. Seems lately that whatever type of Oxycodone I take is having an adverse effect on me and making me very tired after a few hours. I never had that problem before. ## I believe the U23 are manufactured by Aurobindo. I've had that manufacturer in percocet form and it wasn't the worst. It's acceptable and works for the pain but has more side effects than it should. It seems like all of the generics as of late are really lacking in efficacy. I recently got some Qualitest 10/325 percocet from CVS (had to ask for them otherwise they would have given me Rhodes). Qualitest got bought out by Endo who then got bought ...

I have been on Oxycodone 30 mg IR for more than ten years and it has worked fine. Now my doctor has changed to Hydromorphone 8 mg that doesn't work. Can my doctor make me change my pain meds? ## Is that morphine? Morphine didn’t work for me. They switched me from 5 mg oxycodone 4x a day to 15 mg er morphine and it was awful. Yes they can make you switch, but if you can come up with some legitimate side effects they may switch you back. When someone tried to make me take oxycontin instead of oxycodone I didn’t even feel safe to drive it was so strong. The doctor let me switch back. I don’t want meds that make me LESS functional. ## No, it is different than Morphine, though still related to it. Hydromorphone is stronger than Oxycodone, you only need 7mgs of it to equ...

Is this pill immediate release or control releassed and Up too how many milligrams can you take at once how many hours apart ? ## Hello, Erin! How are you? This tablet is manufactured by KVK Tech and they list it as containing 10mgs of Oxycodone in a regular release formulation, so it starts working about 15 to 20 minutes after you take it. The FDA classifies this medication as being a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. As to how much you can take and when to take it, you should follow your doctor's instructions. Much of it depends on your pain levels and opiate tolerance. Is there anything else I can help with? ## So this means they are immediate release so ev...

Hi I have been taking oxycodone 30 mg, 2-3 pills every 4 hours. When I started 4 years ago, I was taking 5mg. I know that the longer you are on the meds, the more "used to" the pill your body gets and the more it needs for the same relief. The thing is, that even taking 90mg at a time, it really isn't working much and I am getting afraid that nothing is going to get rid of this pain. I have cancer and take the medication for the severe bone pain that I get as well as the pain from side effects from the chemo. Is there anything out there that anyone knows of. I keep asking my dr, and they just increase the oxy...It is so hard to get it to begin with...These pharmacies just treat you like crap, like I am some drug dealer on the street!!!! Or worse yet a drug addict that needs ...

For 18 months my pharmacy for 18 months gave me the same white round pill then changed it to a very round light gray pill and don't worry its the same 30 milligrams of oxycodone I've been giving you. I suffer from chronic back pain. I called my pharmacy after 2 weeks of taking it and told him these pills are not working and making me very sick. We have a great relationship and he told me that he will switch me back to the bigger white pill. So my question is what is the best manufacturer of oxycodone 30 milligram ? ## I was in an injury that caused severe damage to my lower back and neck, I well have to have three surgeries done over the course of 3 years. I'm on surgery 1 of 3 it's been a year and the medication I was prescribed oxycodone 30 milligrams every 4 hours as ...

I was taking 5mg of Watson brand Oxycodone since 2006 they always took my pain away . In January 01/2014 when I got my prescription refilled they gave me a332/ 5mg / 325 oxycodone & they don't give you pain relief like Watson's 5mg do so my doctor upped me to a332 7.5mg/325 last year & they did no better then the a332 5mg/325 oxycodone did I only take 3 a day & it takes 3 to 4 hour's for them to work & they only last about 1 to 2 hours if they work I have had day's that 1 out of 3 worked & day's where none of them worked . I read on line where a lot of other people are having the same problem with Activis oxycodone pain med's not working for them like Watson's did . I have received M30s, oxycodone 30mg immediate release, otherwise known as Roxicodone 30mgs. These were dispensed by an FDA licensed pharmacy. But there is no effect whatsoever and I am quite confused. How could a licensed pharmacy legally possess and distribute a tablet that is a fake imitation not made by Mallinckrodt? I know the FDA is corrupt but Jesus this has gotten quite bad. I guess that it could be a recall, but these are definitely scored and identified as Mallinckrodt so what is going on here? ## What are you saying? I take the medication and I have no problem with it. Now i am wondering. Is it sugar pills?? If so that is a legal issue, and I would jump on it. This has totally gotten uncontrolled. Pain patients get stopped suddenly off their meds they have been on for years. ...

Not to long ago I ended up at the hospital w/a four day sever migraine. Nothing seem to work for me and things were getting worse and worse. The emergency doctor prescribed oxycodone; however I am afraid I might be getting addicted. I am truly scared and concerned because I notice quite a few changes, after I take them and the effect stops, I start to feel really depressed, my heart beats faster then usual and I start to feel restless and anxious. I most say that I suffer of Depression and take medication for it which has been working for me but when I use it with Oxycodone I start to feel hopeless and emotional. Please help, I have been trying to withdraw but once I do so, I start having sleepless nights and feeling of depressed. 1 second ago - 4 days left to answer. ## Well, narcotics...

its for pain its a oval shaped pill with gx es7 on it i would like to know what it is and what is made of ## Well this is definitely NOT Oxycodone. Pill Image This is called Ceftin it is 250mgs, the active ingredient is called Cefuroxime, it is a Cephalosporin class antibiotic. This treats many different types of infections, including respiratory, but it is definitely not, any type of narcotic drug. ## By the way, I am not sure who told you it was for pain, but it does not fall under that classification either, as I said, just an antibiotic. The only way it will help pain, is if the pain is being caused by an infection, and after a few days of taking this antibiotic and it starts to work, then the pain will naturally ease, as it would with any antibiotic once it started working and defe...

I have been taking oxycodone 10-325 for 8 years with no problem and my pain was managed well. But I had to change Pain Management docs and the new doc has Added (not replaced) Opana 7.5 ER to my monthly script. Thoughts on this? ## It is a normal practice to try to help someone get better pain control by adding a time released medication, such as the Opana ER, while using the regular released one for breakthrough pain. Have you tried taking it, yet? The FDA warns that narcotic analgesics carry the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth and constipation. ## It is correct that two types of painkillers by working together yet working differently Does help with the pain better. OXYCODONE/APAP 5/325MG TAB and MORPHINE 15MG ER TAB (MALL-8315) but I have been on this same very medication for years on and off but for the last year and a half straight and it is no longer working how they should. How do I ask my doctor to raise the dosage without her thinking i'm an addict or something ## You should just honestly tell her that you've been taking them as prescribed, but are having more pain than usual. It is perfectly normal for your body to get used to the dosage you're taking of any medication that you've been taking for a long time and for it to no longer work as well. Any good doctor should be well aware of this and should expect it to eventually happen. Learn more Percocet details here. Learn more Morphine details here. Is there anything else I c...

Is oxycodone hcl ir 5mg tab habit forming and if so, how bad? ## As with any highly regulated narcotic there is always a demand for it, whether it be for some sort of chronic pain, or for abusers on the black market. From time to time it goes on backorder because there may not be enough to meet the demand. From working in a pharmacy it doesn't seem to be as commonly used whether it be for legal or illegal purposes as percocet, vicodin, or oxycontin ## Yes, Oxycodone is a narcotic, so it can be habit forming, however, how much really depends on various factors. Such as how long someone is taking it, how much they are taking and the person's own body. People that abuse it are going to have more problems than those that just take it as prescribed. Are there any other questions or c...

I take Opana 20mg three times a day for chronic pain, along with Roxicodone 15mg 4X's a day. I was wondering if anyone out there had noticed that the Opana's don't do anything as much as the Roxis/Oxycodone do? I also just use them as perscribed and am only in my 20's and have had over 35 surgeries. I go see my pain management physician in a couple of days and want to know if anyone out there has tried something similar to what I'm not and what they might have been switched to to get better relief of pain. Thank you for any advice. ## Everyone is different, so it could be that the Oxycodone works better for you, than the Opana. Given how many surgeries you've had, you may also have a very high tolerance to pain medications. The FDA warns that these medications ca...
