Hello. I have only been on Lansoprazole for a week following a severe bout of acid reflux - finished up in a&e because they thought it was cardiac chest pain. I feel Ok with the tablets, watching what I eat, but I am getting muscle pain in my lower legs. Has anyone else had this side effect or is it perhaps caused by something else? - and the occasional headache.when I never normally get headaches. ## Actually, those symptoms could be the signs of extremely low magnesium and the monographs direct that you should stop taking the Lansoprazole and contact your doctor immediately. They should check your magnesium levels and help you supplement back, if necessary. You can learn more Lansoprazole details here. I on Soma Muscle spam pills and still get muscle spams pretty regularly! This suppose to happen or I thought I not get them almost anymore or few far between? Thank you Sherri ## HI, Sherri! Soma is a muscle relaxant, so it should prevent the worst of them, but if it isn't doing so, then you may need to try a different dosage, or a different medication. Learn more Soma details here. Not every medication works for everyone that tries it, that's why there are usually several options available in any given treatment category. Have you consulted your doctor, yet? How long have you been taking it? What is the dosage? ## One of the reasons Doctors do not like prescribing Soma is it masks the pain but does not treat it. I'm sure it can be explained better, but Soma is a worthless m...

A muscle relaxant is a drug which affects skeletal muscle function and decreases the muscle tone. It may be used to alleviate symptoms such as muscle spasms, pain, and hyperreflexia. The term "muscle relaxant" is used to refer to two major therapeutic groups: neuromuscular blockers and spasmolytics. Neuromuscular blockers act by interfering with transmission at the neuromuscular end plate and have no central nervous system (CNS) activity. They are often used during surgical procedures and in ...

This medication is listed as containing the active ingredient Scopolamine, which is commonly used as an antispasmodic, but in most cases for gastrointestinal issues. What has your doctor told you to take? Its typical side effects, as listed by the NIH, may possibly include dizziness, drowsiness and dry mouth.

The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, sedation, and dry mouth. Are there any other questions? ## Cyclobenzaprine is Flexeril, Brand name. It's very old medication and I took it for years because there weren't many choices in the 80's or 90's. Then there was Robaxin. I'm now on Baclofen, 3 20 mg. a day. It helps a little. Since taking eliquis I have had terrible soreness in both my arms just in moving them is very painful. I'm going to ask the doctor to take me off this drug besides being tired all day. ## Hello, Laura! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem you're experiencing. Several people have reported such issues from taking Eliquis and this is listed as being a possible side effect by the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, and easy bruising. However, there are other medications that you can try to see if they work for you, without making you miserable. Is there anything else I can help with?

Had miniscal knee Surgery June 11. Does a muscle relaxer help reduce swelling? It is swelled from knee to ankle. ## Hello, Shirley! How are you? No, a muscle relaxant will not do anything to reduce swelling, for that you would usually need a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. The FDA lists their typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding and stomach irritation. Is there anything else I can help with?

Does anyone know the possible MEDICAL cause of the pain. Is the colesevelam preventing the uptake or processing of some other nutrient that is causing these cramps? Does anyone know of any remedies that get at the CAUSE (ie, is it a vitamin or other lipid I am not absorbing correctly?). I know I can just take tylenol or something, but I don't want to be on those pain killers every day as they cause other problems as we all know. Welchol works to stop the intestinal issues (gall bladder removed). But the pain in my feet is debilitating. ## Actually, this medication has been known to cause general myalgia as a side effect, according to the FDA, along with headache, flatulence, constipation and abdominal pain. Thus, a pain reliever may be your only option. Have you consulted your docto...

I have been on Contrave for three months but the last couple weeks I am having muscle twitching bad enough to keep me awake. Could the Contrave be causing this? ## Hello, Patty! How are you? The only place I'm seeing this listed is under the overdose symptoms that are provided by the FDA. The typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, insomnia, nervousness and depression. Have you discussed this with your doctor? I used Progesterone for 2 months and developed leg cramps shortly after using. They only got worse so I was told to discontinue this but wonder how long before the leg cramps go away? ## Leg cramps and spasms, normal walking impossible, leg muscles weak and not responsive because normal passive messages not being communicated properly. Hypertensive medication and/or medication for cholesterol is responsible for this condition in all cases where this side effect applies. I''ve had some relief after many years with my current prescription medication, namely vasocardol am, karvezide pm.

My mother has been on Eliquis for several months. Lately she complains of leg muscles that get tired and she can not walk. She is alo having dizziness and can't sleep. She is 86 and has afib. ## Hi Connie, Sorry to hear about your mother's condition. Based on my research, the drug monograph for Eliquis (apixaban) does list "dizziness" as well as "swelling or joint pain" as possible side effects. Has she reported experiencing any type of pain when her legs get tired from walking? The FDA actually recommends telling your doctor if you have any kind of side effect(s) that bother you or do not go away. So that sounds like it may be her best bet when it comes to taking the next step for assistance in the matter. Perhaps the doctor may suggest trying something else and...

How do I make these muscle spams go away? ## Hello, Meela! How are you? Are you making sure to take in enough fluid while taking this? One of the active ingredients is Hydrochlorothiazide, which is a diuretic that's used to help remove excess fluid from the body, but it can cause dehydration if you aren't taking in enough to replace it. That's usually what causes the muscle spasms. Have you consulted your doctor?

I have been using fenofibrate for about 4 months. About that same time I started having sharp pain in my left hip area. I thought it might be a hip problem but it seems to be more like a muscle in the top of my buttocks to my very lower back. At times it seems to be more pronounced in the front side like my upper groin area. Sometime the pain lessens some if I am doing more physical activities during the day like mowing the lawn and working around the garden. I have also just in the last couple of days been having severe soreness in my right shoulder deltoid area. I just saw that the fenofibrate can cause some muscle aches. I stopped taking it a few days ago (my Dr.told me to anyway when the last prescription ran out) My question is if these are side effects from the fenofibrate how lon...

can you take muscle relaxer with hydrocodone and ibuprofen? ## Only as presscribed by your dr. ## @dawn, It would probably depend on which specific drug you're referring to. But based on my own research, there are drug interactions between the prescription muscle relaxer known as Tizanidine and Hydrocodone. Apparently if you take them together it can potentiate certain side effects like dizziness, drowsiness, lightheadedness, and impaired cognitive abilities. However, with proper dosing and administration your doctor may be able to help you decrease these risks. I hope this helps answer your question! ## Hydrocodone and an actual muscle relaxer will potentiate each other. But, as Davis said with proper dosing instructions, the effects should be minimized.

I am taking this medicine for almost 4 years. It's been over a year with the pain. Every time I get a Pedicure it is really painful when they massage afterwards. First I did not think a lot of it but it got so painful, even my arm muscle hurt when you touch. ## Hello, Mary! How are you? The FDA lists Hydrochlorothiazide as a diuretic and muscle aches are among it's possible side effects, along with nausea, dizziness, headache and dehydration. And therein lies another possible issue, if it's causing you to be slightly dehydrated, that could also cause these types of symptoms. Is your urine light yellow/almost clear or very dark? How much liquid do you take in each day?
