what is mupirocin ointment 2% ## I met with an accident and had deep wounds on the leg(half cm).The dressing was initially done with betadine but i could not see much improvement in would healing process.The doctor then asked me to use T-bact(2% mupirocin).would like to know whether this would be useful in healing.also would like to know the mechanism of action of this ointment.secondly,i applied ointment thrice. and i see that the ointment is accumilated (not absorbed)in the wound(in the groove) and i am finding it difficult to clean it up.it it ok if it remains that way.Is there an efficient method of cleaning it up. ## It is an antibiotic ointment that is used to treat, or prevent topical skin infections. I had phimosis and got it operated. After one week of operation I myself started dressing with Mupirocin 2% ointment. I use the ointment once a day only. Am I using the correct ointment for dressing this kind of wound and how long should I use this ointment for dressing ?

Can I use mupirocin and triamcinolone to effectively treat a bacterial skin infection ? ## What type of bacterial skin infection? Has it been confirmed by your doctor? Topical ointments are really only going to help with a topical infection, that would be one that's just on the very first layer of skin. Anything deeper than that is going to require a systemic antibiotic to eradicate, which means either taking it orally or by IV.

Hi. I was prescribed Bactrim DS 800/160 tablets 2x a day for 10days. I tested negative for mono, strep, and tonsillitis. I do have some boils/abscess and they also gave me ointment for the nose (mupirocin) and body wash (hibiclens). And also (prednisone) was prescribed for my glands swollen. I'm awaiting test results. But my sincere concern is can I take them both together? And I already take kolnopin got anxiety and on the side effects I seen a lot of people said they got nervous, the shakes, couldn't sleep, and other scary symptoms. About two weeks ago I thought I got bitten by mosquito's in the back of my knee but as the days past the bites started to itch like crazy and is now they are the size of a dime, swollen and scabbed over but still itch, I also have noticed that I have tinnier bites in different places on my body. This past Sunday the 7th I started feeling sick in my stomach then on Monday I had diarrhea and noticed rice like partials in my bowels.
