Six months ago I had the staph infection MERSA. Three lesions were surgically treated and I was on bactrim for three weeks. The results were successful. One week ago I indicated to my internist, who was completely aware of the prior condition and treatment, that I had a supect growth on my rear. Upon examination he doubted that the infection was a repeat , did not suggest surgery but did prescribe ciprofloxacin 500 mg for a period of 10 days. In another city four days latter I beleived that that the growth had increased. Went to a large city hospital's emergency room were the senior specialist recommended lancing. That was done and I left with a perscription for sulfameth/trimethoprim 800/600 to be taken over ten days. All seems to be going well, however, I have asthma. Nomally it is c...

I have severe multiple myeloma pain on my hips, more so on my left side. A steel pin has been inserted from my hip to my knee and screwed to the bone and spine-cemented. NO CONTROL OF THE PAIN. ONLY MINOR IMPROVEMENT. I have been taking MS Contin 30mg and Codeine phosphate 2 tabs twice a day. ## Has your doctor considered trying you on Oxycodone, or Fentanyl? I am not a doctor, but they are a couple of stronger options you can ask your doctor about trying. The NIH warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache.

My pain doctor gives me my precription for Norco for my 1st 30 day supply with 3 refills.I'm haivng my 2nd to the last one filled in the next day or so with one more refill left to e filled end of October/1st of November. I've been told that I won't be able to get that last refill without going BACK to me doctor because of the new law for prescription drugs. I was also told that the pharmacy issupposed to go ahead and fill the rest of my refills now, "Just this one time" in accordance with this new law. Is this TRUE? ## You will need to see your dr for Norco after Oct 6, 2014. Some pharmacies aren't doing refills after Oct 3 and other may refuse sooner. There is nothing in the new law regarding the just this one time. And it would be illegal for any pharmacy to g...

Could only get up to pee. spent one day in bed. the next day still hurt not as bad. Well the good new, is it is working, the bad news is the body is over reacting. Have you had the same thing happen to you? or has this not happen to you. this time it was flu, pneumovax and meningitis, the first shot of the meningitis shot a month ago, only caused local soreness, at infection site.

The tine test is a multiple-puncture tuberculin skin test used to aid in the medical diagnosis of tuberculosis (TB). The tine test is similar to the Heaf test, although the Mantoux test is usually used instead. There are multiple forms of the tine tests which usually fall into two categories: the old tine test (OT) and the purified protein derivative (PPD) tine test. Common brand names of the test include Aplisol, Aplitest, Tuberculin PPD TINE TEST, and Tubersol.[1] Content...

What are the side effects of Seroquel? ## I was put on 25mg. of seroquel 7 months ago for trouble sleeping. While taking even this low dose I started having severe back and legs pain. Spent all kinds of money during 6 months going to massage therapist and chiropractor as I was so tight with horrible pain, plus I had no appetite, was extremely fatigued, I have been having horrible headaches everynite so I decided I needed to get off this crap. The Phsychicatrist that gave it to me said to cut 1/4 tablet for 2 to 4 weeks which would help with withdrawals. Well its been 17 days of cutting1/4 tablet less and I am still suffering from nausea, headaches, sleep problems, no energy whatsoever, and above all cannot eat, no appetite at all.I have read that the 1/4 tablet the doctor tole me to cut...

cellcept was prescribed for me by neurologist for multiple sclerosis. Have had MS for 20 years and had symptom progression 2 years ago. Within 4 weeks I had almost complete turnaround with my MS disabilities. I could see better, was able to walk without my cane. I could swallow without choking. I speach and handwritting improved 100%. My doctor is with the Vanderbilt MS clinic. I have not been able to talk with anyone else with MS who has had such improvement. I have had no side effects. I must have CBC blood test every 6-8 weeks. Would like to hear if this is considered a break-through with other MS patients. I don't think FDA has approved cellcept for use in MS treatment. ## My mom has had MS for 25yrs, has been wheelchair bound since 1998, we tried Avenox, Copaxon, Betaseron shot...

I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2008. Over the years my nerve pain has gotten a lot worse. The pain has gotten so bad that it's ruining my life. I cant walk due to my legs not working correctly and experiencing a loss of all balance. I have pain everywhere but it's the worst in my feet. My Dr. has me on 10 mg oxycodone for about 5 years now. I was on percocet prior but I worried about my liver with all the acetaminophen. My problem is I'm not sure if I have built a tolerance or if I should be taking more at a time but it's not doing much for me. My pain never goes away. The pills slightly take the edge off for about an hour. That's it! I have tried 3 different types and strengths of pain patches and they didn't do anything. I tried morphine with the sa...

Hi, I just started a new weight loss journey I guess you could call it and I am taking quite a few things, I know these are not actual medications but im still wondering if it migjt be bad to combine to many things? I am. taking the liquid Garcina Cambogia with 98% HCA, the liquid raspberry ketone drops, the green coffee bean extract pills with 50% chlorogenic acid, and apple cider vinegar. I just turned 30, I am about 5"7 and I weigh 187 pounds. My goal weight is somewhere between 145-155 . I am one that likes that instant gratification and results so I read allot that taking two of these togethet is great for results but nothing about taking all of them. I did find a supplement on amazon. that was a 7 in 1 and had all of these into one pill. I just wanted to know if there is anyth...

Is it possible to go to the emergency room to have narcotics prescribed for multile sclerosis pain ## Is it possible? Yes, but not very likely. In most instances, they are going to want to know why your personal doctor isn't prescribing something and they will worry that you are drug seeking. Most ERs don't routinely give them out anymore, since their prescribing practices are so closely scrutinized by the FDA. Have you tried consulting your regular doctor for a solution? ## Yes, in a perfect world. We all know this is not.

I have multiple back injuries starting from being a gymnast when I was younger, being in a abusive relationship, and then taking a really bad fall in a local supermarket. I've had xrays, mri's, physical therapy, chiropractic treatment, inj's. The last resort was back surgery and I replied, "absolutely not" I'm sorry but nobody is cutting my back open. I've heard to many stories where there surgeries either did nothing or made the pain worse. I currently have been on 30 mg oxycodone #180 and oxymorphone aka opana 20 mg #60. I've noticed over the past 1.5 years its been getting more difficult to get my meds filled because I recently had to change my pain Dr because he now is a Dr in the hospital and no longer has his pain management practice. So my new Dr s...

My Mother is 96 y.o. diagnosed of Chronic Stable Angina, of AODM at age 80 with essential hypertension. She has a recent episode of lung infection treated with decongestant and antibiotic. She is on multiple meds. such as Vastarel MR, Pritor Plus, Simvastatin, Neurobion, Minidiab. At such age could these meds. be cut down gradually to substitute with alternative therapy? Or which drug should be cut out of her med. arsenal? ## At her age and with such health conditions, it is best to consult her doctor and let him make any adjustments that may be necessary. The Vastarel, which contains Trimetazidine and the Pritor Plus, which contains Telmisartan and Hydrochlorothiazide, can both cause severe rebound effects, if they are stopped abruptly, which could put her life in danger. This is going to sound a little crazy. I am a retired physical therapist. At 59 years old i have been very active in sports from a young age. Needless to say I have treated just about every injury that can occur in the human body over the years. Most required pain meds to endure p.t. I have always been interested in mma, so i decided to move to las vegas and train at the major gyms there. BAD mistake! After 4 years of training I was busted up. osteoarthritis and degeneration took place on a whole new level. I started taking vicodin for my shoulder, then my hip, and now for both knees. I don't even want to mention my spine. Vicodin was a huge blessing in the beginning, especially in combo with hrt. It allowed me to fight and train. It gave me energy and endurance (not typical). I hav...

My mother is a cancer survivor and currently taking Femara. She also takes Meprobamate, Simvastatin, Fluticasone Propionate, Plavix, Omeprazole, Coreg, Digoxin, Zestril, Zyrtec and Aleve. I am shocked at how many drugs being prescribed by several different doctors. How can I makes sense of all of this with so many doctors involved. Are there any reactions I should be concerned with. Thank you. ## I am also a cancer survivor. Your mother needs to get clean of all these meds unless she has high blood presure. She is doing more harm then good. She needs to detox, eat well and step aside from all these advertised drugs. ## No one should stop any prescribed medication, without their doctor's approval.
