regarding mrsa infections. I got first got mrsa while in a nursing home. Then I got C-diff., three times now. Then a Staph infection on my face, neck, etc. Now I have it in my eyes. I have been prescribed Purbac for MRSA for 5 months. Some docs say NO, and propose Clindamycin. I don't need to develop any horrific side effects - have 1 kidney. ## Actually, MRSA is also known to be susceptible to Sulfa antibiotics, such as the Purbac, which contains Sulfamethoxazole and Trimethoprim, it is also commonly prescribed under the brand name Bactrim. I am wondering what is the best antibiotic to fight MRSA or a Staph infection? I went to the hospital last night because I had a spot that started out as an ingrown hair and has become repulsive. I have gotten MRSA four times in the last three years, with two surgeries. My questions are: why do I keep getting the infection, also around the same time of year as the previous years had mrsa. Also, I have been on and off pain killers (oxycodone 5 mg) for the last three years and I believe I have gained somewhat of a tolerance for them. my baby at 8 days old was diagnosed with MRSA in his eyes. We've been on iv antibiotics and when he was sent home he was prescribed clindamycin in an oral form. 2 1/2 ML for 5 days. Well the MRSA returned shortly after we finished the 5 days. So he is back on it for 10 days. My question is we are using the same bottle of clindamycin that is now 2 weeks old. Do we need to get a prescription for a new bottle of clindamycin? As you know MRSA is a nightmare and very hard to get rid of. Hi, I have been taking doxycycline for about a year to fight back chronic MRSA Staph infection in the femur (had several operations on leg so far). I am alergic to some other antibiotics and tried Septra and that gave me rashes. So I am kind of stuck with Doxy. I have MRSA along with yeast infections over and over I perfere to use nystain the one that has a numming agent in it. Used to treat MRSA ## To treat MRSA, Vancomycin or other antibiotics in the same class are used. Other options may include: Flucloxacillin, Erythromycin and Ciprofloxacin. I am not, however, finding any that start with an R. but it is possible that some doctors may use Rocephin, the active ingredient in Ceftriaxone, though it is not listed as being used to treat MRSA. i use it to treat MRSA. Clindamycin 150 mg. i am on my 5th day course now. But i forgot to take it on time. It´s just like two hours delayed. i should have take it 5pm but i remembered it 7pm already.
