I have no evidence of a causal link, but have a clear temporal link from the antibiotic to a degradation of the uvula continuing months following. Had also tendonitis generally and slow to recede. Any one else? ## Moxifloxacin is a Fluoroquinolone, and this class of medications is known to carry the risk of causing tendonitis, and tendon rupture as side effects, along with nausea, sore throat, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. Ref: Moxifloxacin Information The tendonitis and sore throat side effects might explain the issues you've experienced. However, I must admit to being unsure of exactly what you mean by 'degradation of the uvula', so could you please expound on that? Thank you!

i want to know about moxifloxacin and its side effects during pregnancy ## Moxifloxacin, also called Avelox, is in a class of drugs known as the Quinolone antibiotics. Avelox Side Effects include such serious problems as damage to tendons, joints and muscles. These side effects can be so serious that they do not allow the use of them for children that are not fully grown yet due to the possibility of damage to the unformed bone and cartilage in children. These antibiotics also leach magnesium from the body, a serious problem for pregnant women that can lead to a condition known as toxemia of pregnancy that is quite dangerous. Because of these problems and the fact that there are less dangerous antibiotics for most infections, I would refrain from using Moxifloxacin in pregnancy and ask ...

moxifloxacin HCI ## i have an arrytmia should i take avelox ## Hi Maria, Avelox is a drug that can lead to many problems, including arrhythmia. Many heart arrhythmias are due to a decrease of magnesium in the body (even if your magnesium level tested by your doctor is normal). Unfortunately, the mechanism of action of many of the Avelox Side Effects is through a reduction in magnesium in the body. This could potentially lead to worsening of symptoms. You should carefully read about the side effects of these drugs and decide if the risk is worth treating the infection, or if it might be better to call your doctor, tell him about your concerns, and ask for an alternative to Levaquin to treat your infection.
