As most of you here, I've been taking MS Contin 60 mg and Oxycodone IR for break through among other meds of course. I have had RSD/CRPS for 26 years and Lupus for about 5 years. I live in PA now and never really considered the ramifications of moving to a state with such pain med issues. Due to job loss I've had to reschedule my meds taking fewer of them and being in worse pain. I don't want to find just a prescribing doctor. I want to continue my treatment. Any advice? ## I moved back to Panama City Beach, FL, in 2012 after moving away in 2003. In TN, where we moved from, I was on Hydrocodone 10/325 and Opana, so 2 opiates. When I moved here, the first neurologist I saw told me that she didn't like to give 2 opiates at the same time. So, I suffered through the pain for...

I am currently undergoing Suboxone therapy , with the film. I am on a stable maintenance dose and live in TN. I am looking to move to Louisville KY and wanted to know if the laws are different for how the medication is prescribed, I.e. others have indicated KY doctors do not like to prescribe for maintenance vs weening therapy. This medication has changed my life for the better. I am fully functional and working and alive again. I don't want to have to worry I will be kicked off the medication by moving. Please Advise.

Okay, I've been taking Tri Sprintec for about 6 months after being switched from Gianvi (generic Yaz.. bad, bad stuff). Anyway, I used to start the Gianvi pack on Wednesday and I never got my period on the weekend. Now I need to move my Tri Sprintect start to Monday, will it hurt anything to skip the last few white pills? Will there be bleeding?? ## Hi Georgie, Based on my research, the white pills in the Tri Sprintec pack are placebo/sugar pills- therefore it shouldn't hurt to skip the pills. However, since you're very slightly reprogramming your body in a way by switching the start date there may be some light spotting. Also, because birth control is hormonal based and hormones are very sensitive and react differently in everyone, there's no surefire way to know how yo...

Hi-I have been on Zoloft 150 (Sertraline) for 5 weeks. I jumped really quickly--I started on 50 then 75 for a day or two then 100 for two days and have been on 150 ever since. So basically, low levels for a week then 150. In the past few weeks, I have had shaky hands and a few days ago had itchy skin (which I know could be anything) and leg soreness like I worked out really hard (I have worked out twice in a week) so nothing too crazy. I am very bothered by this--I was on Zoloft before and had no issues. I am also taking (for short period) Klonopin for sleep 1-1.5mg/night. Any thoughts? I feel better but not 100% more like 50-60%. Still get nervous, I also had a miscarriage (ectopic) and had methotrexate about a month ago. Any thoughts? THANKS! update: doctor told me to drop to 100 for ...

Looking for a doc who will prescribe pain meds without too much fuss. I suffer from arthritis, bursitis and sciatica ## Hello, Lisa! How are you? I'm sorry that you're in pain. However, the days of doctors being able to prescribe like that are gone. Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require long-term, ongoing treatment for chronic pain, you'll need to see a specialist. The best thing to do would be to set yourself up with a new PCP and then have them refer you to someone. Can anyone suggest a good doctor in that area?

Hi, I miscarried 9 months ago when I was in my 3rd trimester. Now I have stomach cramps and my tummy is always moving as if I'm carrying a child inside and i feel like I'm exhaling rotten smelling breath at times, but I have done several home pregnancy tests and my results are negative. Could this mean something? ## Hello, Rachel! How are you? What you've described are normal symptoms of gas, as described by the NIH. It's usually harmless, just annoying. Once you've been pregnant, it seems that you become a lot more sensitive to any movement in your abdominal area than you used to be. What types of foods do you eat? Do you drink a lot of carbonated beverages? Gas is usually caused by excess stomach acid from something you eat or drink.

I read that patients can't see the implant but it's clear as day swimming inside my eye to me. Is this normal? Will it settle up or down, or am I forced to live with this thing floating around forever? ## There are cases where it can move to the front of the eye, such as if the posterior part of your lens is missing, or torn. Have you contacted your doctor to ask about this issue? They may be able to offer you a solution. The typical side effects of the Iluvien implant may include serious eye infections, eye inflammation, and retinal detachment.

Hello everyone, So I've been doing the pain management thing the correct way for about 15 years. I take Opana ER and Oxycodone IR every day. I've finally found the right dosage of each to be able to at least cope with my Ankylosing Spondylitis as well as the 3 different columns I've had fused. Well lucky me I found out yesterday I'm being transferred to KC MO next week! My current doc didn't know anyone there to refer me to, so I'm asking for everyone here's assistance. At this point I'm not too terribly picky. Yeah I would prefer a place that didn't treat me like I'm some sort of junky just because I know exactly what works for me. However I do understand that that's going to happen wherever I go for the most part. Any help is greatly appreci...

I am moving from FL to MN in a couple of weeks and looking for a doctor who will continue my medications for back pain, high blood pressure, stomach issues. ## Hello, Jenifer! How are you? Depending on what you take for back pain, you may need to see a pain management specialist now for that, since GPs can no longer prescribe long-term use narcotics. Can anyone suggest a good PCP in the area? ## Just to let you know what has happened with finding a doctor. After spending hours reviewing web site that had reviews of doctors. Of course all the doctors who I thought could help were not taking new patients or had multi month wait lists. I finally went to the phone book a called a family practice clinic near my home at got a appointment. When I saw the doctor I had the past year of my medica...

Have no Dr or pharmacy, how can I get my scrip filled before I leave? ## Chauncey, 10 days is something I don't think any legit rph would be willing to risk there licenses for.your best bet would be set up an appointment as soon as you get to your new location and explain your predicament to your new provider. I have been on methadone for pain since 2003, moving from md to knoxville and need a doctor ## Hi, Kristi! How are you? The best thing to do, once you're in your new location, would be to find yourself a general practitioner and then have them refer you to a pain management specialist. Under the new regulations, a GP won't be able to prescribe such a medication for long-term pain management. They are restricted in what they can prescribe, why they can prescribe it and for how long they can prescribe it. Learn more Methadone details here. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in the area?

I want to move from Maine to NH. I am on SSDI, and have medicaid in Maine, but I don't know if it is given automatically to people on disability in NH. Naturally, I want to have a clinic in place, BEFORE I move. I know you are supposed to be living there before you can apply, but I don't want to move there, and then find out I can't get Medicaid there! Anyone have experience in this subject? Thanks soooo much! ## I have to be honest and admit that I am not familiar with how it works in NH, it's been many years since I've been there and, even then, it was only for a short visit.
