How fast will the lizness begin to work? I have to go to work and don't want to be running up and down statues all day. ## Hi Gil, While some patients report having bowel movements on the first day from taking Linzess (Linaclotide), others mention that it took up to a few weeks before it really kicked into gear for them. With that said, the only real way to see if it will work for you is by actually trying it and committing yourself to a full course of treatment. I guess you're supposed to take it 30 minutes before eating or drinking in the morning, but I don't know if that has an impact on it's overall effectiveness throughout the rest of the day. The patient prescribing information notes that symptoms of diarrhea often begin within the first 2 weeks of treatment. So I...

I have a normal bowel movement in the morning as soon as I get up. But, once I have break fast, after some time, heavy pressure creates for motion and it will be loose, black in colour and foul smelling. There after, the entire day is normal. I am a diabetic for the last seven years and I am on tablets. ## Normal bowel movement in the mornings. After break fast, may be an hour or so later, I start feeling uncomfortable in the stomach and I will be forced to the toilet to ease myself. The stool will be loose, black green in colour and smells unpleasant. Once this is clesred, the entire day I am alright. I am from Bangalore city in India. I am a Type 2 diabetic and on medicines for the last seven years. ## My mother is 88 yrs old. She is prone to loose motions. She only consumes soft food...

My doctor gave me samples of Linzess for constipation I though that 290 mcg would work faster, but didn't have any movement, so I tried the 145 mcg and had great results, I'm. Out of the 145 mcg and was wounding if mcg's are different then mg. Is the larger number 290mcg less in strength then the 145mcg? Will I have to take 2 to get the 145 mcg? ## Hello, B J! How are you? And no, it most likely worked because you had those dosages in your system so close together, so they overlapped and combined to help. But to put it in milligrams for you, 145mcgs is 0.145mg and 290mcgs would be 0.290mgs. Is there anything else I can help with?

pls suggest me a tablet that will cause loose motion to clear the stomach. ## Normal medications that can cause bowel movements do not actually cause the stomach to clear any faster than normal, what they actually work on and clear are your bowels. As to what you can use, I am not sure what all is available for you, but usually the safest to use would be just a fiber supplement. Learn more about dietary fiber here. However, you should check with your doctor, before using anything, to make sure it is safe for you to do so. Are you having a problem with constipation?

I moved from Warfarin to Pradaxa 1.5yrs ago. I was having to have blood tests quite frequently with my INR decreasing or increasing despite trying to maintain a correct diet. I have been so much healthier with Pradaxa and have returned to competitive swimming, At age 65 I am swimming 100 M Medley's. I keep getting much faster in the pool. I am not sure if it is connected but I changed my diet to only include Fish/ skinless chicken-sometimes, Fresh Fruits and Vegetables and Muesli for breakfast. I did have high Blood pressure and high Cholesterol but my BP is quite normal and one 45 yr Physician told me, my Cholesterol was much better than his. ## Hi Charles, According to the New York Times, Pradaxa was identified as the primary suspect in 542 patient deaths reported to the F.D.A. in...

besides flomax & hytrin and avodart what is there to treat BPH? ## I have BPH. I tried Avodart and found it frustrating: it was very effective in removing symptoms of BPH fast, but unable to move beyond turgid for intercourse; if climax occurred , it felt like someone strangled me down there, ie: the gun fired but no bullets. I was switched to Cialis 5mg: just as effective on BPH but slower to have an effect. Took 4 months for effects of Avodart to wear off. Gun has bullets. But Cialis also can have side effects in some people. ## You can learn more here about your BPH treatment options. As always, you should try the medication, or treatment approach that your doctor advises to achieve the best possible outcome for you. Are you on any other medications?

Can you drink alcohol while taking this medication? ## I'm not that sure, but I wouldn't take the chance. talk to your doctor ## Since alcohol is a blood thinner, it will effect how fast the drug moves through and then out of your body, making it so you might not receive the correct dosage, for instance, if you are supposed to take 2 a day, but you drink alcohol, you could end up with a med that lasts only 9 or 10 hours, instead of the 12 it should, which could affect how the drug works for you. This can also vary depending on how much alcohol you drink and your own metabolism, so it is always better to stay away from it when you are on a prescription medication.

My Dr prescribed hydrocodone a month ago. I took one pill and immediately got extremely dizzy and nauseous. I did not take any more of them but am still dizzy and nauseous if I move too much or too fast. Even reading or watching tv and having things move is making me sick. I would like to know if this is normal or OK to still be dealing with this and what if anything could help? ## No, it is not normal to continue experiencing such side effects, if you have not continued taking it. The FDA lists the typical side effects as being transient and they generally go away a week, or so after you stop taking it. If you are still experiencing such issues, you need to have these issues checked out as it may be due to some other cause. What was this medication prescribed to treat? Are you on any o...

The Betaprofen is used to help relieve pain, fever and swelling, while the Anerobyl is an antibiotic. So I quit opiates on my own and chose suboxone to help with pain... fast forward a few yrs and ive learned its actually fibromyalgia and herniated discs and arthritis giving me all of the pain. Problem now, drs keep passing me off to other drs. Nobody will help me. Im tired of being treated in a poor manner when im in massive pain and can hardly move or walk. I don't know what to do anymore. ## Where you taking Suboxone from an addiction treatment doctor? If so, then that would explain the problem. Doctors are going toe very reluctant to prescribe anything for someone that has an addiction issue listed in their medical records. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and co...

I am taking this diuretic for 2 years. A few months ago I would get extremely dizzy when I laid down on my left side. Now I am extremely dizzy when I lay down on my right side and back. I get dizzy when I look up and move too fast. Could this be the chlorathaldone? I am supposed to take 50 mil.twice a day. I feel horrible. I am 72 years old. ## It is possible, according to FDA reports, it can also cause nausea, dizziness, increased urination, dehydration, and hypotension. But have you had this checked out by your medical provider? There could be other issues going on, as well. Is this the only medication you are currently taking?

By taking potassium, why not lie down for at least 30 minutes? ## The main reason is to prevent irritation of your esophagus, in case they are not completely swallowed. If you lay down, they may not move into the stomach as easy and fast as they do if you are sitting or standing. Is there anything else I can help you with?

Ive had black outs in hot weather! Over a 100? I go inot shut down mode! Anyone else having problems? ## Hello, Jake! How are you? I'm sorry about what happened. What medication is in your pump? Sometimes heat causes some of them to move through your blood stream faster than usual. Or you may also be getting dehydrated, which could make the medication hit you harder than usual, if it's a narcotic. The FDA lists narcotics as having the potential to be habit forming and possibly causing side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. ## My name is Bob. I'm trying to identify a pill that is a polygon & light orange with 4 on one side and SB on the other. ## I have been a diabetic for the last 13 years & started using 500 mg Metformin, then moved to 850mg twice daily along with Glimepiride 1 mg once a day. Should I increase the intake of Glimepiride to 2 mg or increase the Metformin to 1g? ## Can diabetic medication make you diluted when taking a drug panel? ## Regarding the original poster, this tablet is manufactured by GlaxoSmithKline, and they list it as being a 4mg Avandia tablet, which is most commonly used to treat diabetes. I have been on 80mg. Of oxycodone a day for 6 good mo. Now for my disease. Today I go to a new pain clinic as I moved to a new state. This is unreal now it is back to suffering pain. Then after a week won't I go through more withdraws? Please help need some fast help! Thanks ## I'm very sorry about the problem you're having. I began the starter pack with 10mg for 2 weeks and then moved up to 20mg for 2 weeks. I experienced the WORST ever side affects from an anxiety drug. I have taken many, and this was unbearable. It caused extreme muscle fatigue to the point that it was difficult to move my arms or legs, and increased my appetite, due to the stomach side affects. Food eased the stomach cramps. The worst side affect was my blood pressure was scary high and my heart beat became irregular and fast. After mentioning these things, I was switched over to Effexor - SOOOO MUCH BETTER!! ## I have been on this for about 2 months and have AWFUL muscle pain in my legs, arms and back.
