Motofen Atropine + Difenoxin

Motofen is the brand name for an antiperistaltic anti-diarrheal medication, containing 1.0 mg difenoxin HCl and 0.025 mg atropine (U.S. Food and Drug Administration: Schedule IV Combination). It was invented by Kendra Clark. Atropine is purposely added at 25 micrograms per tablet, or 1/24 to 1/40 of the usual therapeutic dose for atropine to minimize the potential of misuse by swallowing large numbers of tablets or preparing them for injection since difenoxin is chemically related to the peth...

I had been Rx' motofen in the early 90's and took it for 20 yr.'s or more & when I could no longer find it did not notice withdrawal symptoms. I desperately need it. Have crohnes and have suffered chronic diarrhea sense I was 26, now 75. Its the only medication that works for me & believe me I've tried them all. ## I have no follow-up regarding motofen. Nobody (Dr's) not interested in talking about it or crohnes. I have heard off & on that motofen will be back with no results or any indication of another medication to take its place. I do feel that if it does come back it will be so expensive that we e cannot afford it and the insurance companies will not honor it. So on with the saga. Will appreciate any insight and/or feedback. I was given Metoprolol Tarta 50 mg. and it says to take one twice a day. I didn't take that much and it made me not be able to sleep like a lot of other beta blockers do. After taking it I woke up the other day and can't hear out of my right ear at all. I heard this medication is a ototoxic and can cause hearing loss. I have an appointment with a ENT doctor day after tomorrow. Has anybody else had this problem? I am now on two other B/P meds that work good and I can sleep good. This not being able ot hear out of my right ear is getting to me. I don't know what the doctor can do to get my hearing back. Hope this isn't permanent. I would appreciate any advice concerning this. Thanks, Nora ## There have been others that reported experiencing ototoxicity from taking Metoprol...

Is there such a thing as pills for balance disorders? I need help! ## There are definitely meds for just about any condition; But it's a matter of narrowing down what specific condition you are experiencing. For example, dizziness or trouble balancing can be anything from Vertigo to perhaps a back which needs adjusting. Actually there was one time where I would feel dizzy every time I got out of bed - I went and got my back adjusted at the chiropractor and was fine after that. So my advice is to get a professional diagnosis from a doctor because in order to get the proper treatment the specific condition needs to be narrowed down. Hope this helps. Good luck! ## Thank you Angie. I have had a diffused axonal brain injury for the past 26 years & I'm not improving. I'm so gr...

it is now the 6th day... applied antibiotic ointment yet the wound is still wet and prickingly painful when moved ## Hi, Leonard! Sorry about the burn. However, a third degree burn wouldn't be painful and would be such a deep burn into your muscle tissue that it would require medical attention. If it's wet and painful, then it's most likely a second degree burn. If that's the case, then you need to keep it clean and cool. However, there is no way to cure it, it will only heal with time. Have you had your doctor check it out? You should do so, just to be certain it doesn't get infected. Aloe Vera gel can also be very soothing.

What is stronger a flexiril 10mg or a baclofen 10mg? ## Hello, Harleynana! How are you? These two are about equivalent, though it can depend on what specific muscle spasms are being treated, as sometimes Baclofen can treat spasticity associated with upper motor neuron syndromes, where the other don't. The FDA lists the typical possible side effects as including nausea, dizziness, headache and dry mouth. Is there anything else I can help with?

I take cymbalta with lyrica to help with the pain. Ask your doctor if this may help you. ## It appears that you made a new post, rather than a reply to the one you were reading. pink capsule ## I was a hospice nurse years ago when pharmacies had to compound this 5 agent anti-nausea medication. They could make it in a capsule or suppository form. It contained: 10mg each of dexamethasone(Decadron) and motoclopramide(Reglan) 50mg of Dramamine,25 mg diphenhydramine(Benedryl) and 2mg of Cogentin. Originally used as an adjunct to chemotherapy induced nausea and vomiting, it became a highly therapeutic choice for hospice patients as well. Hospice contined to use it even after Zofran was introduced because it was a much less expensive alternative. And highly effective! The 5 different drugs each target a different nausea mechanism in the body i.e. brain, stomach etc so the patient could get immediate relief without having to figure out which nausea center was being affe...

I would like to know if Venlor 150mg and Epitec 150mg is the reason for my bad memory and concentration. ## Hello, Amanda! How are you? It is most likely due to the Epitec, those can be known side effects of it and they tend to worsen the longer you are on it. Other side effects, as listed by the U.S. FDA may possibly include mood swings and weight changes. How long have you been taking it? ## Good evening, I am using Venlor XR150 for the past 5 years, since our son died in a motor car accident. I also gained about 10kg weight. My weight is 67kg at this stage but I hope to loose about 7kg. I am 5 feet 4 inches in length.
