I take 15mg of MS sulfate ER 1 two times a day I had to reduce to this dose as I had hives itching and was miserable on 30mg 1 two times a day. Now whenever I swallow the morphine it burns my throat and I end up with my throat feeling swollen and very hoarse. If I try not to take it Im in trouble also. Is the coating something I could be sensitive too? ## Hello, Jackie! How are you? Yes, you may be reacting to the coating. Are you making sure to take each tablet with a full 8 ounce glass of water, unless you're on fluid restriction? I've sometimes experienced this with pills if my mouth was too dry, when I swallowed them. I have been taking morphine sulfate er blue tablets coated in ny. I moved to wisconsin and got my first script here for the same meds. Pharmacy gave me morphine sulfate 15mg sr. It's not coated. It appears to be a regular morphine tablet. I took one and feel nausea and sick. What's the difference or is there any? ## Hello, Karen! How are you? What are the markings on the new ones? That is the only way I'd be able to check the details for you. Can you please post back? But please keep in mind that not all time released tablets use a coating, there are several other methods they can use to control the release of the medication. Is it okay to break this tablet in half. It does not has any type of coating to delay its release into the system. It just has a bunch of fillers. I used to be a pharmacy tech. We were taught it was okay to break in half if it was scored, it should only be taken whole if in capsule form or had any type of coating (for slowing the release down.) These pills are rather large and have no coating. Sometimes it is easier for me to take them in two small pieces rather than one larger one. I never ever crush them. ## No, the ER stands for extended release, which means there is something inside the tablet that controls the rate of the release of the medication. Not all time released formulations rely on an outer coating, it is sometimes incorporated into the interior of the pill, due to the fac...

this pill is round shaped, peach/orange colored, with the letter M on one side and the letters MS 60 on the other side. ## I don't have a picture to post for you, but I can confirm that a tablet with the M MS60 marking that's described as round and peach colored does contain 60mgs of Morphine in a time released formulation. Learn more Morphine details here. Where was it found? ## Is there a company making Morphine 60mg round pills which are orange in color but this orange isn't a coating that's normally found with Morphine 60mg pills. Just wondering if there is such a thing? "The pill is orange all the way through it, WITHOUT the normal coating of abg or M logos." ## I am prescribed 60 mg morphine sulfate er, usually round with a coating. When I got them filled t...

My boyfriend is perscribed morphine sulfate extended release, and he is currently getting thees oblong ones (e655/60). In the bottle he found one that was just a 1/2. They are skinny and kinda soft so easily broken on accident. In the past he has gotten the wax-coated ones, and said the ER part is in the coating. In these, however, there is no coating. In a broken one- is the ER part also messed up, or is the ER mixed into the whole pill? Wanting to know if taking 1/2 of these is simply 30mg ER instead of 60mg ER. ## Hello, Ashley! How are you? No, it is not safe to take a broken tablet, because that can defeat the timed released formulation and may result in overdose. That said, he should take it to his pharmacy and tell him, they may replace it for him. I've had this happen before...
