I'm on Morphine sulf 60mg ER 1 table every 12 hours plus Fentora 400 MCG Buccal tablet 1 every 6 hours. I'm ran out of the Morphine Sulf and none of the farmacy have it on stock. Now I'm with a lot of pain, I think because I'm getting the morphine out of my system, but I do have at home Oxycodone 15 MG. Do you know if I can substitute the morphine for the Oxycodone safely until I get the Morphine back within 2 days. Also if I take the Oxycodone can I still take the Fentora safely. I will not take it together, but like I take Oxycodone now and within one hour it's the time for Fentora. ## Hi, Santa! Sorry about the problem that you're having finding your medication. And yes, a sudden withdrawal from the Morphine can cause a rebound effect, which could cause worse p...

I've been in pain longer than this ass has been alive. ## I was on 130mg's of the morphine sulfate every 12 hours. When I accidentally took two and called the poison control line they told me that 200mg's was the highest they prescribe anyone and that's on their death bed. Now they have medication that is stronger but they can only safely prescribe so much morphine without destroying or damaging your organs. But I'm pretty sure that the highest they go on the extended release morphine is 200mg ...

For over 10 years, I took 820 mg. morphine sulfate ER daily to manage chronic pain, trigeminal neuralgy and osteomyelitis in my jaw...(yes, I know that is spelled wrong, but don't want to take the time to look it up right now) Anyhow, about 1 1/2 years ago I started tapering myself off of it, one, because of the costs...astronomical, ridiculous, really..and for the last 6 months or so have been taking either 15/30 mg. regular release morphine every 4 hours. When I called my doctor to get an appt. for refills, the soonest appt. is 17 days away and I've only got about 1 week of medication left. I still have 200 mg. ER morphine left, but I don't want to accidentally overdose...do I still have a higher tolerance from being on it for so many years? ## Old mom The best and safest ...

What is different between IR and ER? I want to take pill and go to sleep with dreadful migraine headache due to the weather. ## Hello, Laura! How are you? IR stands for immediate release and ER stands for extended release, so an IR medication is released immediately, as opposed to an ER, which is slowly released over a period of time. But you shouldn't take either one, unless your doctor has specifically prescribed them for you. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is this really good for my back? What else is it good for? What is the average price for a prescription to be filled? ## I can't really tell you if this will help you or not. Pain medications can affect everyone differently, whereas some people get great results from taking it, but there are others that it just doesn't work for. Unfortunately, the only way to find out is to actually try it. To answer your other question, Morphine is a narcotic pain reliever used to treat moderate to severe pain. I wouldn't suggest trying to use it for any other purpose outside of that. Did your doctor just give you a prescription for it without saying a word? ## I have stage 4 cancer I've been taking Vicodin 500 mg 6 times a day now I switch to 15 mg of morphine and I feel horrible don...

Combining the two can cause more severe side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and constipation. Need a pain Dr. in Pittsburgh PA.. been taking MS Contin for awhile and want to stay on my treatment plan. ## Hello, Criss! How are you? Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a specialist. General practice doctors will not be able to prescribe it for you. And if you go in asking for a specific medication, they will view that as being drug seeking behavior. You'll need to set up an appointment with a new doctor and let your medical records speak for themselves. Once they can see what has and hasn't worked for you in the past, as documented by a fellow physician, they will be more prone to prescribe accordingly. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be ha...

Can I take two (2) of the Morphine Sulf 15mg ER, at the same time to equal 30mg? Will it release double since it is two pills? Will it equal to just one (1) pill 30mg ER? Please help, Lost in Ftw ## Hello, Queen B! How are you? Yes, two of them would both release and it would be equivalent to taking 30mgs, however, you should not do so, unless your doctor approves of your taking that dosage. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you so much sorry for late reply

I have been getting my morphine from CVS for over 5 yrs. They will only get Rhodes mfg. generic. These pills are so bad some times my nose runs, I am in a with draw state. Every month its the same some thing. It seems like sometimes they have the right amount of morphine in them while most times Its as though I am taking nothing. Anyone else out there with this problem? I think some of these pills are bootleg. No way to prove it and CVS does not seem to care. ## Have you tried asking them if they can order in the ones made by a different manufacturer for you? They usually can, but you'll have to pay any price difference between it and the existing generic, because your insurance usually won't. Another alternative would be speaking to your doctor about trying a different medicati...

I was on morphine sulf. Er 100mg tab. rhodes. Then I got switched to morphine sulf. 100mg er mylan. These upset my stomach why did they change my meds. Like that?.I have back pain, even had serg. The one made by rhodes worked just fine what can I do so my stomach doesn't get up set ? Thanks j.r. ## Hello, Steve! How are you? Since this is a generic medication, it is manufactured by several different companies and whichever one your pharmacy has in stock depends on which company was offering the cheapest price, at the time they needed to restock their supply. Thus, if you're taking a generic medication, you really have to just expect this to happen occasionally. As to it upsetting your stomach, it could be due to there being a different inactive ingredient in it. Have you consult...

Morphine 30 sulfate er made by Mylan does not help relieve pain does anyone else have that problem ## I too am finding morphine sulphate ER manufactured by Mylan is not as effective. Almost like going through early withdrawal symptoms, for example, morphine usually paralyzes intestinal movement and causes constipation. I am having cramping and looser stools. I question the correct amount contained in the tablets. ## Sorry to hear about your recent experiences. I have been on kadian for 2 yrs now. 150mg twice a day, plus percocet10/325 for breakthrough. works pretty well. Now I have to switch to morphine sulfate er TABLETS. I will be taking 160 mgs twice per day. Have not taken yet so I don't know if they will work as good as the kadian. What I was also wondering if the morphine sulfate er CAPSULES work better than the morphine sulfate er TABLETS. anyone try both to see if there was any difference thank you ## What you're switching to is just a generic for Kadian, it still contains a time released formulation of Morphine. As to which one works better, when I was taking it, I never noticed a different between the tablets or the capsules, but what is true for me may not be true for you. I just went to a new pain dr. For 8 years I was on OxyContin 30mg. My insurance wouldn't pay so I was switched to 30 mg ms continue er. This worked fine. All with 5/325 Hydrocodone up to 4 daily for breakthrough. Within the last four months the old Doctor switched to 30mg IRR without telling me why the change. I think just mixed up. Actually it worked basically the same with the breakthrough meds. Now new doc changed to MS Contin er generic with same amount of breakthrough melds. I haven't started yet but am worried it won't work as well. Help ## Since it is a lower dose, it may not manage your pain as well and you may also experience some withdrawal symptoms.
