I'm on Morphine sulf 60mg ER 1 table every 12 hours plus Fentora 400 MCG Buccal tablet 1 every 6 hours. I'm ran out of the Morphine Sulf and none of the farmacy have it on stock. Now I'm with a lot of pain, I think because I'm getting the morphine out of my system, but I do have at home Oxycodone 15 MG. Do you know if I can substitute the morphine for the Oxycodone safely until I get the Morphine back within 2 days. Also if I take the Oxycodone can I still take the Fentora safely. I will not take it together, but like I take Oxycodone now and within one hour it's the time for Fentora. ## Hi, Santa! Sorry about the problem that you're having finding your medication. And yes, a sudden withdrawal from the Morphine can cause a rebound effect, which could cause worse p...

I just went to a new pain dr. For 8 years I was on OxyContin 30mg. My insurance wouldn't pay so I was switched to 30 mg ms continue er. This worked fine. All with 5/325 Hydrocodone up to 4 daily for breakthrough. Within the last four months the old Doctor switched to 30mg IRR without telling me why the change. I think just mixed up. Actually it worked basically the same with the breakthrough meds. Now new doc changed to MS Contin er generic with same amount of breakthrough melds. I haven't started yet but am worried it won't work as well. Help ## Since it is a lower dose, it may not manage your pain as well and you may also experience some withdrawal symptoms. As listed by the FDA, withdrawal symptoms may possibly include nausea, dizziness, fever, chills and diarrhea. Is the...

Is this really good for my back? What else is it good for? What is the average price for a prescription to be filled? ## I can't really tell you if this will help you or not. Pain medications can affect everyone differently, whereas some people get great results from taking it, but there are others that it just doesn't work for. Unfortunately, the only way to find out is to actually try it. To answer your other question, Morphine is a narcotic pain reliever used to treat moderate to severe pain. I wouldn't suggest trying to use it for any other purpose outside of that. Did your doctor just give you a prescription for it without saying a word? ## I have stage 4 cancer I've been taking Vicodin 500 mg 6 times a day now I switch to 15 mg of morphine and I feel horrible don...

Has anyone out there taken this drug twice a day and had persistent nausea??? I thought I'd adjust to the nausea, but it's persistent. Anyone got any advice for me to help with this persistent nausea.? I'm also weak and sleepy. ## Hello Betty, According to the [1] NIH, nausea and vomiting is the most common side effect of this medication, greater than 10% of users who administered this medication experienced these adverse reactions. Good news is other users who have taken this medication say that it gets better with time, but the bad news is I couldn't find any medical documentation that states how long on average this time frame is. I feel like if you have these symptoms so often that it's become a problem for your way of life it would be best to discuss it with you...

Can you take Morphine Sulfate ER 15mg with Adderall? I'm scared as hell!... My Dr. pushed the Morphine on me over taking just Hydrocodone 10/325... & this concerns me :/ ## My doc insisted on switching me from 5-325 Norco to Morphine Sulfate as well, and it was the WORST thing that's happened to me, EVER. He felt that it was best to switch to the supposedly long-acting Morphine rather than increase my dose of Norco (I had been on the lowest possible dose of Norco--5-325--for about EIGHT years, so this would have been the very first dosage increase in all those years. It's certainly not like I had kept asking for more pills or bigger doses or anything but none the less, he felt it was better to switch to Morphine instead of slightly increasing the Norco.) Morphine is SUBS...

I am n morphine sul 100 mg er and morphine sul ir 15 mg for breakthru and10 mg oxycodone ir for break thru the sr said to see how it works and my insurance sont want go fill the 15one mg and 10I necause they say they are the same. I was gols they are diffplease help ## Hello, Jeannie! How are you doing? Sorry about the problem that you're having. You mean they won't fill the 15mg Morphine IR and the 10mg Oxycodone IR? Yes, they would consider those to be equivalent, because they are both regular release and intended to treat breakthrough pain, so it's generally thought that both wouldn't be needed. I've been prescribed an extended-release version of morphine sulfate and I've released I'm not sure how the extended release works. I take one 15 mg pill per day. I guess I thought the extended release meant that I would be getting the benefit of 15 mg of pain relief all day long, at an given moment. But does the ER version simply take that 15 mg and divide it up over the space of 24 hours? 15 divided by 24...that would mean at any given hour, I'd only have 0.62 (less than a milligram) in my system, which is substantially less than 15 mg of relief in any given hour. Can anyone clarify this for me? ## Hello, Groa! How are you? Yes, the tablet contains 15mgs total of Morphine that is slowly released over time. However, generally, the constant release of even small amounts ...

For over 10 years, I took 820 mg. morphine sulfate ER daily to manage chronic pain, trigeminal neuralgy and osteomyelitis in my jaw...(yes, I know that is spelled wrong, but don't want to take the time to look it up right now) Anyhow, about 1 1/2 years ago I started tapering myself off of it, one, because of the costs...astronomical, ridiculous, really..and for the last 6 months or so have been taking either 15/30 mg. regular release morphine every 4 hours. When I called my doctor to get an appt. for refills, the soonest appt. is 17 days away and I've only got about 1 week of medication left. I still have 200 mg. ER morphine left, but I don't want to accidentally overdose...do I still have a higher tolerance from being on it for so many years? ## Old mom The best and safest ...

I have been on kadian for 2 yrs now. 150mg twice a day, plus percocet10/325 for breakthrough. works pretty well. Now I have to switch to morphine sulfate er TABLETS. I will be taking 160 mgs twice per day. Have not taken yet so I don't know if they will work as good as the kadian. What I was also wondering if the morphine sulfate er CAPSULES work better than the morphine sulfate er TABLETS. anyone try both to see if there was any difference thank you ## What you're switching to is just a generic for Kadian, it still contains a time released formulation of Morphine. As to which one works better, when I was taking it, I never noticed a different between the tablets or the capsules, but what is true for me may not be true for you. You really need to try it for yourself and see what...

How long does morphine sulfate 15 mg ir last? I take 2 a day. I also take morphine sulfate 30 mg er 3 a day. I'm confused as to when I am supposed to take the morphine sulfate it. It only seems to last 4 hours and the morphine 30 mg er seems to last no more than 7 hours. I can only stand and bend for 10 minutes or less until I'm in excruciating pain. My pain Dr. Only sees me once every 6 month's. I've had a spinal fusion & fractured back and a fractured neck. ## The regular release, which you refer to as IR is usually taken every 8 hours, and the ER every 12 hours, but you should ultimately follow the prescribing instructions, because only a medical professional can help you decide what is safest and best for you. On my formulary list, it shows Morphine Sulfate bead, as a category of morphine available. I am currently taking morphine sulfate ER 30 mg., but the cost is $90 for a quantity of 90 pills (1 month supply). The Morphine Sulfate bead is shown with a cost of only $15 per month. What is the bead type of morphine and would this be an option for me to use instead of the ER type? ## It is just another time released formulation in a capsule, from what I can find. Are you currently taking tablets, or a name brand? The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth.

Can morphine be taken now 15mg er 5 hours since 200mg iubrophen ## As long as your doctor approves of you taking both. They are two different kinds of medications, Morphine is classified by the FDA as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. While Ibuprofen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflamamtory and its typical side effects are listed as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding ands stomach irritation. I'm ceasing my use of 30 mg Morphine Sulfate ER twice daily due to concerns that it's increasing my disorganization and not helping my pain as much as Celebrex and maybe Cymbalta. My pain provider suggested what seemed to be a rapid decrease of plateaus of only a few days before each decrease. Instead I filled with 15 mg tablets and decreased more slowly, always decreasing the evening dose first. I'm now at one 15 mg in the morning only- this is the third day. The soles of my feet hurt (fibromyalgia pain), my calves, front of legs. I'm faintly nauseated, was unable to nap today because of restless legs when I had an impending migraine. The only previous effect during this entire decrease was after 7 days at 15 mg, bid, when I had a sensation of odors associated w/an unpl...

I've be taking a larger amount 30 mg for approx a week or so and i am having more trouble swallowing than usually and is quite painful. I have been on morphine 15 mg twice a day for about 2 weeks before that. Can you help me.I have had trouble with my throat before but not this bad. ## Is your throat really dry? Narcotics can cause dry mouth and that can sometimes create trouble swallowing, since the esophagus needs to be lubricated to swallow properly. Learn more Morphine details here. Have you consulted your doctor? You really need to have it checked out, before it becomes a serious problem. ## Hi there. I'm not sure if you're aware of this but Morphine comes in a liquid form, as well. You may want to look into that form of Morphine if your swallowing becomes any worse.....

I am taking morphine sulfate er 30mg tablets twice a day and also taking morphine sulfate imm rel 15mg once, sometimes twice a day. Finances won't allow me to get the morphine er at this time. Question: what is dosage of morphine imm per day without morphine er for 5 or 6 day until I can get the morphine er? ## They are both Morphine, so the dosage would be the same, however, the problem you are going to run into is that it is not going to last as long and since it is being released into your body much faster, this will potentiate the side effects, such as the nausea, dizziness and constipation that it can cause. Have you consulted with your doctor? You should really do so, before you try anything of this nature. It would probably work better for managing your pain to take a lower d...

My pain specialist had me on 40 mg Opana ER and 15 mg Morphine Sulfate IR for 8 years. I had to find another doctor and starting next week I will be taking 30 mg Oxymorphone ER every 12 hours and 10 mg Oxycodone IR up to 3 per day. I have been out of my break thru pain med for 2 days now and my pain level averages 9 to 10 every day so I have taken 5 mg valium, Tylenol #3 with codine and a baclofen to stop me from going into withdrawal. What else can I do until my insurance co. gives their OK, ## Re: "Is morphine stronger than oxycodone" - I feel that answers to this question may be highly opinionated according to each individual as well as several underlying factors, including but not limited to: the binders/fillers in each respective tablet that may affect bioavailability; gene...
