Almost like going through early withdrawal symptoms, for example, morphine usually paralyzes intestinal movement and causes constipation. I am having cramping and looser stools. It really depends on how it affects you and your ability to drive. Morphine is a potent narcotic, so it can cause drowsiness, dizziness and euphoria, in some people, which could impair their ability to be safe behind the wheel. There are several posts on our site from people that thought they were fine, but got pulled over and fined, for being under the influence of certain medications, so you do need to be very cautious. However, they both tend to increase sedation, so you may experience more dizziness and drowsiness than usual, as reported by the FDA. If you have existing medical conditions that affect your breathing, or heart, taking them together in high doses could be too much for you. People who are not tolerant may also experience overdose. Hello; my name is Kitty. due to several back & neck surgeries I have tried several pain meds. i'm 70 yr/s old & had these surgeries about '84. as I've aged the pain is much worse. I am currently on morphine (one every 4-6 hours) for severe stomach pains until i can make an appointment for a scan. I get tired a lot, often makes me groggy and quite weak. 1. I now take15 mg morphine sulfate TID which makes me sleepy and does not handle my pain, plus up to 10/325 oxycodone 4xday to handle pain. (orig. on 30 mg morphine sulfate + oxy, and reduced at my request due to sleepiness) 2. 10/325 mg oxycodone taken alone 4xday is effective 80 or so % of the time in treating my pain, and does not cause sleepiness. why would they put an opiate blocker with morphine in a pill together? ## I assume you are referring to the medication Embeda? This has been done to try to prevent abuse of the time released Morphine that the tablets contain. Many people crush them and then try to insufflate or administer it intravenously. If they try it with a tablet that contains the Naltrexone, then the opiate is neutralized and they will have wasted their time. Same if they try to chew the tablet. It does not affect the efficacy of the Morphine, if the pill is swallowed, like it is supposed to be. Do you have any other questions?

I gave the lady I take care of .5ml of morphine while her nurse was there because she was in pain from being moved so much (she cant move on her own) and her daughter is accusing me almost two weeks later of "drugging" her because she had become really tired and hadnt been eating much (she was refusing and turning her head away). I had a HORRIBLE reaction to percocet. Vommiting, rash, itching. It made me feel so awful. I felt horribly sick! I even tried taking it with benadryl like the doctor said. No difference at all. Does anybody know of any pain meds that don't contain Morphine? I had been taking the max dose of 2 10mg lortab every 4hrs and it gave me little or no pain relief at all, wich was the reason for switching me to 1 10/325mg percocet every 4hrs.
