It really depends on how it affects you and your ability to drive. Morphine is a potent narcotic, so it can cause drowsiness, dizziness and euphoria, in some people, which could impair their ability to be safe behind the wheel. There are several posts on our site from people that thought they were fine, but got pulled over and fined, for being under the influence of certain medications, so you do need to be very cautious. However, they both tend to increase sedation, so you may experience more dizziness and drowsiness than usual, as reported by the FDA. If you have existing medical conditions that affect your breathing, or heart, taking them together in high doses could be too much for you. People who are not tolerant may also experience overdose. Hello; my name is Kitty. due to several back & neck surgeries I have tried several pain meds. i'm 70 yr/s old & had these surgeries about '84. as I've aged the pain is much worse. I am taking morphine sul 100 bid and lyrica 200 bid. ive been taking this for quit awhile but recently was increased to 100 from 75 and from 150 to 200 respectfully. The last two days I've been getting tightness in my chest and it feel hard to breath is this a side effect of the two and if so shouldn't of it showed when I started taking them together. I am currently on morphine (one every 4-6 hours) for severe stomach pains until i can make an appointment for a scan. I get tired a lot, often makes me groggy and quite weak.
