ok so i found this pill it is small round 7mm (1/4 inch) across purple and it has a logo stamp of a capital P with a background circle that does not go around the whole P but just the top part of the P with the lower extension of the P out of the circle. on the back side it sais 30 with mg printed underneath. i was told that it was morphine but i need some more solid proof ## This tablet contains 30mgs of Morphine CR, a generic for MS Contin, this is a narcotic pain reliever. i found a small purple pill with 30 on one side and R P H on the other side. Is it generic MS contin??? ## I am sorry, but I can't find a listing for a tablet with this marking in any of my resources. The RPH logo is used by Ratipharm, which is a very large European generic medication manufacturer. Many of their medications are available in Canada. The only morphing listing I can find for the 30mg generic for Ms Contin has a TC 30 on it, but I am not certain if they use the same marking in other countries, or not. I will, however, keep looking. I had asked my pharmacist how my last prescription I got there of 30mg MS Contin was 3 times the size of the other.One was red and huge and the other was blue and smaller than a aspirin .She acted like I was stupid and just kept repeating they were both 30mg of morphine.No s*** really? changing to Oxycodone HCL BY DOCTOR--what amount of oxycodone hcl would be comparable to MS CONTIN 30 MG ? ## Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so you would actually need a lower dose of the Oxycodone, which would be around 20mgs. As I read I just don't know if I should come off 60 mg in the am and 30 in PM. Back surgery conic pain for years now and the MS works. But, is it why I am depressed? for 3 years my dr. was prescribing me three 60mg morphine sulphate er and four 30mg ms ir daily. when it became impossible to get MS in Florida, he switched me to Fentanyl patch 12MCG/HR every 3 days and 7.5mg-200 hydrocordone , 1 every 8 hours. the pain was unbearable and I felt terrible. cold sweats, shakes, could'nt think straight. when I asked him to increase dosage, he increased the patch to 25 MCG, but said there was more MS in the 7.5-200 hydrocodone than the 30mg tabs of ms. do you agree? I have just been prescribed Oxycontin along with Morphine sulfate immediate release (80 mg of oxy, 1 tab 2x a day, 30 mg of morphine ir) for severe nerve damage to my left leg. I have started to become nauseated, is this due to the combo of both? I take them at separate times a day as prescribed. I have been on msir for 1 1/2 years, but a weaker dose. ## It is actually more than likely due to the higher dose of the Morphine. Unfortunately, while also working so well on the pain receptors of the brain, morphine also acts on the receptors that trigger nausea and vomiting. I went through the same thing myself when I switched from Oxycontin to MS Contin. It will take a few weeks, but it will eventually wear off. However, you can expect to experience this anytime you alter your dosage again....

green with 30 on 1 side and plain on the other. ## This does not seem to be Morphine, the green, 30mg Morphine tablet has a 30 on one side and E 653 on the other and it is a time released formulation, the generic for MS Contin. As to what this is, I cannot find a listing for a tablet in the prescription drug databases that only has a 30 on it. Was it found in the U.S. or elsewhere?

I have several questions. In general is morphine stroger than oxy ??? If oxy is stronger than morphine does anyone have suggestions on how to approach Dr ( this will b second visit. Dr seems sympathetic, is conservative) ??? Dr tells me MS Contin ER is supposed to last 12 hrs per tab, he started me 3x a day. I find that morphine only lasts 3-4 hrs @ most...how do I bring it up that I need more daily, something stronger than 30 mg ER, and or something for breakthrough (he can see that prev doc prescribed (30 mg IR oxy @ 8x daily as well as break through meds...he retired) ??
