changing to Oxycodone HCL BY DOCTOR--what amount of oxycodone hcl would be comparable to MS CONTIN 30 MG ? ## Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so you would actually need a lower dose of the Oxycodone, which would be around 20mgs. Morphine 30 sulfate er made by Mylan does not help relieve pain does anyone else have that problem ## I too am finding morphine sulphate ER manufactured by Mylan is not as effective. Almost like going through early withdrawal symptoms, for example, morphine usually paralyzes intestinal movement and causes constipation. I am having cramping and looser stools. I have taken off-green color *generic morphine 30mg e.R for a number of years with good results / 4 chronic pain. Now pharmacy is giving me morphine tab - 30mg e.R made by a lab called *mallinkrt. Taking it does bother my stomach, and does not last as e.R should. Seems alot of this stuff being substituted at pharmacies. Twice I've been given this made by mallinkrt lab and it doesnt work. will crushing the pill give me better relief? ## ER pills are not to be crushed ## Crushing them is a very dangerous practice, you could get too much of the narcotic at once and overdose yourself. These are time released for a reason. If you are having trouble with adequate pain relief, then please speak to your doctor. I was on these for several years for pain management and they are a very strong medication. This is usually referring to the time released tablets, crushing, cutting or chewing them can destroy the time released nature and may result in your getting to much of the medication, at once, which could cause a dangerous overdose. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. cronic pain ## Dilaudid (Hydromorphone) is essentially liquid heroin and should be only prescribed for extreme cases of pain, due to the fact that it is highly ADDICTIVE. ## Dilaudid is Hydromophone, it is no longer available in just a liquid, it comes in pills now as well, instant release. It is a very strong narcotic, yes, highly addictive but no more so than any other narcotics.
