I have been on percocet for about six years, now they want to transicion me to morphine sulfate(ms contin) 30mg, so the pain management doctor wants me to tae both until they can remove me from percocet.... to be onest with you I am afraid, can anyone give me more info.....Thanks ## Transitioning from one narcotic medication to another is usually not a problem, as long as your are given an equivalent dosage of the new one. There usually isn't any need to keep taking both to ease the transition, since one can prevent withdrawals from another. The Morphine isn't as strong as the Oxycodone, to you will require a higher dosage, to equal what you were taking, but it is very effective for many people. It can cause the same side effects, such as: nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and dry m...

changing to Oxycodone HCL BY DOCTOR--what amount of oxycodone hcl would be comparable to MS CONTIN 30 MG ? ## Oxycodone is one and a half times stronger than Morphine, so you would actually need a lower dose of the Oxycodone, which would be around 20mgs. The side effect profile is similar for both, since they are both narcotic analgesics and may include: nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. How are you? I'm very sorry about the problem that you're having. He might be creating part of the problem himself, if he's calling doctors or going to appointments and asking them to prescribe this medication. It is a highly addictive, controlled substance and most doctors will view that as being drug seeking behavior. What he needs to do is set up an appointment with a pain management specialist and make sure that they g...

Morphine 30 sulfate er made by Mylan does not help relieve pain does anyone else have that problem ## I too am finding morphine sulphate ER manufactured by Mylan is not as effective. Almost like going through early withdrawal symptoms, for example, morphine usually paralyzes intestinal movement and causes constipation. I am having cramping and looser stools. I question the correct amount contained in the tablets. ## Sorry to hear about your recent experiences. Medications can and often do affect everyone differently, whereas some people get great results, but there are others that it inevitably just doesn't work for no matter how much they take. However in the case of this particular drug, it seems the majority of people posting on here don't like Mylan's version of it. Addi...

i have been out of my morphine 60mg for a couple days (not happy about iit ) I was told that they stopped manufactring that medication here in Florida ,. Anyone heard about this . sick , I only take 2 pills a day ## Hi pitatot, I've been doing some research, but I can't find any pertinent information stating that Morphine is unavailable in Florida as of right now. I'm not surprised however, since Florida has definitely been cracking down on the pain medications they distribute due to the high levels of abuse. Who told you about this? A friend? Or did you check with your pharmacy? If you can provide any more information, it would be really helpful! You can learn more about this drug on the page for Morphine Details ## I recently read that Cardinal Health, one of the top 3 drug...

will crushing the pill give me better relief? ## ER pills are not to be crushed ## Crushing them is a very dangerous practice, you could get too much of the narcotic at once and overdose yourself. These are time released for a reason. If you are having trouble with adequate pain relief, then please speak to your doctor. I was on these for several years for pain management and they are a very strong medication. I do have to say, however, there are some types of pain that they should not be used for, what condition are you taking them for? ## If you are taking an antibiotic for Azitmonuycin can you crush them & drink with juice ?

Ive heard you shouldnt crush or chew a morphine tablet..why is this? ## Hello, Nancy! How are you? This is usually referring to the time released tablets, crushing, cutting or chewing them can destroy the time released nature and may result in your getting to much of the medication, at once, which could cause a dangerous overdose. The FDA classifies this medication as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

theres 3 diff kinds all capsules 1 is pink 2 is all white and 3 is half white half green no markings to identify them i was told it was morphine but im not sure ## Half green and white but no imprints on pill . ## If there are no markings, there is no way to be sure what they contain, unless you could actually have them lab tested. Under current U.S. law, all manufactured prescription products are required to have unique imprints to enable their identification. If a tablet or capsule does not have any markings, it could be an over the counter product, a foreign medication, or something that was specially ordered by a doctor and created by a compounding pharmacy. small green tablet side 1, 653, side 2 30. ## Is the marking E653/30? If so, this is indeed Morphine Sulfate CR 30mgs, a generic for MS Contin, which is a 12 hour time released narcotic pain reliever. Some of the most common side effects include: nausea, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. What condition are you taking this for? The reason I ask, is I learned the hard way that it should not be used to treat some conditions, as it can actually make some worse, instead of helping to relieve pain. ## I have renal disease, had a kidney transplant about 5yrs ago.
