i have to change from Avinza 90mg. to M S contin 30mg3x/day or Oramorph 30 mg 3x/day I dont know which to go to as the generic version will cost the same. Hello; my name is Kitty. due to several back & neck surgeries I have tried several pain meds. i'm 70 yr/s old & had these surgeries about '84. as I've aged the pain is much worse. Just prescribed for on Morphine Sulfate SA. Would like to know to what effect this will be different from 4-10 mg hydrocodone/500 APAP, daily ? ## They are both narcotics, so the side effects are going to be very similar, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. However, the SA stands for sustained action, so the Morphine is a time released product that is meant to help give you better pain control. Is there anything else I can help with?

I usually take 1-3 10/500 hydrocodone pills a day. I recently Ran out and have 60 mg morphine. I have never taken morphine pills.. had it iv in hospital a few times. Should I take it to ease the pain or what should I expect. I am forced off morphine as drug panels allowed doctors to force legitimate pain patients off meds with no legal protections for patients. The pain associations that promoted drug evaluations, did not advocate that patients be withheld pain meds, unless they had aberrant behavior more than 2 times. Veterans killed themselves because of a intolerant policy that forced them into withdrawal. Many were forced into withdrawal then given drug panels, and many could not receive treatment for their disabling pain. The DEA called the VA the candyland drug dealers for veterans, said there is no legitimate use for pain, that patients just want to feel high. They have gotten away with it so far. Wife hospitalized w/QTc; prolonged interval between heart beats. Norm is 450-500. Hers;700. Was on 140 mgs methadone. Next day down to 80, next day and currently 40 mgs. Now heart at 465. I will try to make this as short as possible. I have been suffering with Chronic Pain to my right shoulder since 2005. I fell on black ice, dislocated the shoulder, broke the humerus head and cracked the bone in the socket. 3 surgeries later I'm still suffering with the pain. Since the injury I've been on Lortab 10/500. Started out with 4 per day, I'm at 7 per day and cannot go higher due to the Tylenol. My pain management doctor's PA switched me to 5 Lortab per day with 2-15mg Morphine Sulfate ER.
