2 100mg morphine sulf er a day. Is that alot? ## yea thats alot . i was taking 3 had been for yrs changed me to pain management and he starting cutting all my meds in half. think they are doing me some kind of favor. yea right . wish he had a good dose of my problems and pain. I've been in pain longer than this ass has been alive. ## I was on 130mg's of the morphine sulfate every 12 hours. When I accidentally took two and called the poison control line they told me that 200mg's was the highest they prescribe anyone and that's on their death bed. Now they have medication that is stronger but they can only safely prescribe so much morphine without destroying or damaging your organs. Can this pill be broken in half and taken? 200 mg is very strong. Half of that dose would be more agreeable. Will it still work as it should? Just not as strong? ## Generally, if the medication is not in an extended release form, I don't see why it wouldn't be safe to divide the tablet in half for a smaller dosage. However, this particular tablet does appear to be extended release and therefore I would NOT encourage anyone to tamper with it in any way, even for legitimate reasons. Just to be sure we are on the same page, this is an oblong green pill with [M] on one side and "200" on the other. And it reportedly contains 200mgs of Morphine sulfate SR (slow release). I ran out of Opana ER 40mg. I take 7 tabs at a time. That is 280mgs. I have Morphine Sulphate ER 200mg each. How do I do a conversion so I know how many Morphine Sulphate to take until I can get my script for Opana refilled? ## Wow! That's a very high dosage to be taking and I'm very sorry that you ran out. They are two different kinds of medications, Morphine is classified by the FDA as a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth and constipation. My Regular Doctor is on vacation and another doctor is taking my medicine (200mg morphine sulfate er and 15mg ir. And 30mg of oxazepam I use for bad migraines) away , putting me on Suboxone....I've researched it , doesn't sound to nice,lots of side effects and pretty severe! Kinda scared of it, and she said that I need to be in withdrawels before the Suboxone will work. ....ANOTHER BIG PROBLEM, and I would like to know if Anyone has had this happen.......new script for 100mg er pills from Rhodes pharmaceuticals,some worked and most of them didn't. This new Dr said"I've never heard of that ",so I handed her a recall letter about a different medication used for gut cramps.....now I know why those didn't work either...anyways I'm waiting for a reply from Rho...

I've been working to reduce my reliance on pain medications with my doctor's help. I've been able to come down from 200mg morphine sulfate to 15mg MS Contin. The doctor said he was happy where I was but I wanted to try and go further. He wrote a script for 10mg Kadian since a lesser dose of MS Contin wasn't available. Unfortunately, my doc's son died suddenly and he's away. I cannot find a pharmacy that is able to fill this prescription. I live in a metro area. He had said if I had trouble filling it thinking my insurance might not cover it to call him and he'd write the script for my old dosage of MS Contin.
