I have been on 20mg of Celexa for 5 weeks now. I have noticed little difference. I have to take ativan to get through the day! When can I expect to feel better? ## It usually only takes 4 to 5 weeks to reach its full level of efficacy in your body. If there's been no improvement, then it may not be the right medication to help you and you may need to try something else. This my third attempt for an answer. I have been on Mobic since April 2014. Also Lyrica increased from 300 to 600 daily since August2014.I've gained weight also have off and on ankle/feet swelling. Now for 2 weeks my calfs are aching. Is one or both meds the problem Help ## Hello, Marie! How are you? I am very sorry that it's taken several posts for you to get an answer. The Lyrica is the most likely culprit of the weight gain, it is well known to cause it as a side effect, along with nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and mood swings. As to the swelling, I'd have to say that is most likely from the Mobic, since nonsteroidal anti-inflammatories can cause the fluid retention that causes edema. Other side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, increased risk of bleeding an...

Will a back surgeon ask me to stop taking pain medicine before surgery? If yes, how long before the surgery will I need to stop. I'm currently taking six 5/325 Percocet's per day. I have a L-4 bulging disc that's pushing against a nerve and it causes pain that is just ridiculous. I've tried Physical Therapy, Epidurals, Chiropractors and Accupunture and nothing has reduced the pain. I won't take pain medicine for the rest of my life. If the pain ever stops I will gladly quit taking Narcotic Medicine that most of you know comes with some annoying side effects. Mood swings, sweating, pain increase when the medicine start wearing down. I have other question but since this is my first posting on any website I just want to see if this is helpful. ## Hello! I have been having several medicines listed above. Gasy, dizziness, mood swings, Sleepiness, Agitation, passing gas a lot, headaches, blurred vision, Confusion,Depression, and panic attacks. This is the list of medicines I'm worried about mixing. Centirizine Trintellix Singulair Crestor Nexium ## Are you saying these are the symptoms being treated, or that these are the side effects you're experiencing? Side effects are generally more pronounced when you are taking more than one medication, and Cetirizine, Trinitellix, Singulair, Crestor, and Nexium can cause the issues you've reported. However, typically side effects will go away, after about 4 to 6 weeks, once your body gets used to a medication. Has there been any change?

My son suffers from severe migraines and has been on this medicine for 4 1/2 years. We recently took him off because we felt like his headaches have been more often and more severe. He has been off for almost 2 weeks and has been very tired, very moody and has not been eating as much. ## That is normal. Even if someone isn't abusing a medication, your body gets used to having that substance and abruptly stopping it will cause some withdrawal symptoms. Since he was on it for so long, his body has to make a major adjustment and get used to working without the medication. He may even begin to suffer rebound migraines, chills, fever and nausea. It will, eventually, taper off, but you may want to consult a doctor, just in case. ## My son(5Yrs) is suffering from headache doctor advised to...

Tell me the medicine to take to postpone mensuration and its possible effects? ## Hi Lawal, You may want to contact your gynecologist about trying a hormonal contraceptive approach, since I've heard of many women taking these types of pills in a particular manner in order to alter the timing of their menstrual cycle for major events such as weddings or other obligations. As far as side effects are concerned, this is a risk with pretty much any prescription medication, so it's not something you can completely rule out. However not everyone who takes contraceptives experiences adverse effects from doing so. It's really just one of those things to be on the lookout for if you notice any sudden changes in your mood and/or other bodily functions. I hope this helps answer your que...

My doctor said everything is ok, might be hormonal problems and i have been taking femitrone 5 mg medicine but I missed just 1 day to take that pill and again had my period twice this month. ## This contains a form of progesterone, which is a hormone vital to the female menstrual cycle. I've been on 20mg Citalopram for almost 6 weeks now and don't feel any better, of anything I'm more depressed and anxious than I was before. My GP has talked about increasing the dose but I don't know wether it's the Citalopram, making me worse or if the dosage isn't strong enough. Any thoughts plaeas? ## Too many physicians don't take side effects seriously, and rather than stopping the antidepressant, increase the dose. A major side effect of all antidepressants is a deeper depression. Although I'm a layman, I've been through enough therapy and antidepressants to know that what your doctor is doing is wrong. For one thing, psychiatrists should be prescribing antidepressants, not general practitioners. My advice is not to increase the dose and to see...
