Will a back surgeon ask me to stop taking pain medicine before surgery? If yes, how long before the surgery will I need to stop. I'm currently taking six 5/325 Percocet's per day. I have a L-4 bulging disc that's pushing against a nerve and it causes pain that is just ridiculous. I've been on 20mg Citalopram for almost 6 weeks now and don't feel any better, of anything I'm more depressed and anxious than I was before.
